May 15-20, 2012,
Wednesday: We began the day with a witness on the road in front of the high school. Although there were a few who took literature and some tentative waves, the reception was pretty icy. Many of the people driving by wore “Jackson Hole United” (JHU) t-shirts with the slogan Civility, Compassion, Love, but they were far from civil. They carried cards listing the “do’s” and “don’ts” of conversing with us. One of the “do’s” was to, Stay Calm. One of the “don’ts” was, Don’t Act out in Anger, with a phone number to call if tempted. Without Christ one cannot control the passions of his flesh.
Our next venue was a public sidewalk in front of the strip mall where Brent Blue kills babies in the last remaining abortion mill in Wyoming. We brought signs, praise, preaching and the Word of God right to the gates of hell to petition the Lord to have mercy on bothWyoming and our nation. We read through the entire Bible here in three days and saved the last book of the Bible for our ministry at Elk Fest.
Our nation is in grave danger. Americais bleeding to death as our children are being murdered in abortion mills in every state of the union because we have forgotten God’s law.
“My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.” Hosea 4:6
(JHU) is a group of “pro-choice and pro-life” people, committed to bringing Civility, Compassion, and Love to the killing of children in the womb. It was created to be a response to our public proclamation of the Gospel of Christ at Brent Blue’s abortion mill. (JHU) did not want the citizens ofJackson to see the horror Brent Blue perpetrates on children in the womb. It did all that was possible to divert traffic from us with detour signs. Unfortunately for (JHU), its infantile attempt to divert traffic only aroused the curiosity of passers-by. The sin of the city ofJackson was exposed for all to see. “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.” Hosea 4:6
There were many opportunities to witness Christ and the deportment of the police toward us was remarkably changed from last year. “When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord He makes even his enemies at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:17. Thank you Jesus! Jeremy & Felice Aughenbaugh, so faithful to stand for Christ after we leftJackson last year, helped prepare the way for us. Though Felice lost her brother in a tragic fire this week, they were servants to all.
Thursday & Friday: Each day we allowed our theology to become biography in the streets ofJackson. Tom Raddell set up a magnificent display in the town square that had the whole city abuzz. We were a “living parable” to this wicked city.
We were front page news in the Jackson Hole Daily months before we arrived. If you believed the headlines you might think we were the most violent of people. The truth is, all the citations issued were issued to “locals” including one for reckless endangerment when a young man swerved his vehicle directly at those holding signs.
Saturday: On Saturday morning we all went to the square where Chet and Pastor Mark were arrested last year. There we finished reading the entire Bible through inJackson by reading Revelation together. The newspaper whined that we would ruin the Boy Scouts’ Elk Fest weekend. Nothing could have been further from the truth. We came, and the state director of the Boy Scouts gathered us all together, and commended us for the kindness extended by us to the scouts.
Sunday: We attended the services of several of these “churches” and began to discern what the real problem was. At River Crossing we encountered a pastor that boasted about all he had done for the pro-life cause. He then preached from Luke18:9-14, the parable of the Pharisee and the Publican. He warned of becoming arrogant and stated that, “God was the only standard for righteousness.” We agree – Jesus is the Standard is our brand, and on every publication we produce and T-shirt we wear. He invited anyone who had questions to see him after church. This opened a great opportunity for Dr. Pat to tell him that “he was that man – the Pharisee!” Sunday: Sunday morning we confronted the churches both apostate (those who claim many ways to God and support child-killing, homosexuality, etc) and “seeker sensitive” (those who claim Christ and to be pro-life). We found that both, when shown the blood of the innocent flowing in their streets cover their eyes and seek the accolades of the world rather than the accolades of heaven. It is so sad.
