Chet, Johnny, Ron Brock, and I, stopped on our way back from Jackson, Mississippi, at a little place named Birmingham, Alabama.  We were there to see our great friend in Jesus – David Lackey.  Dave, for whatever reason (he has a lot of them if anyone cared to listen), believes Alabama is heaven on earth.  We arrived a day after he got out of the car (his) in front of his house and watched it roll down the hill and smash into his neighbor’s garage door.  Awesome.  He actually ran after it, but what would he have done if he caught up with it.

I wonder if his neighbors believe it is heaven on earth to live next to Dave Lackey?  As you all know by now, Dave has been really struggling with this tumor in his brain.  There are no more operations left for him.  He has had four successful operations over the past 12 or 13 years, but the doctors will not do another one.  Too dangerous.

Chet took some pictures of all of us with Dave and then put together his very first “vimeo.” (HERE’s the video)  As you will see, he has done remarkably well presenting our brother Dave for who he really is.  Dave Lackey is a friend of Jesus before he is anything else.  Perhaps this is what makes him such a great friend to each one of us.     ~ Flip

You heard that correct.  The last free-standing abortion mill in the state of Mississippi is wonderfully close to having its doors shut for good.  This would make Mississippi the fist Abortion free state in America.  We just received word from Richard and Melody Miller, faithful saints for the lives of preborn children in Jackson, Mississippi, that the news has begun pouring out in the media that Jackson Woman’s Health Organization is breathing its death rattle.

How did it happen?  Faithful Christians living out their faith in the streets over the years at abortion mills in Mississippi have had an extraordinary effect.  They did not wait for the President, the Congress, or the Supreme Court to fix the wholesale slaughter of little baby boys and girls in their state – they simply heard from God and loved their neighbor as themselves.  It was love that brought them to the gates of hell, love that kept them there, and love that is going to bring this horrible holocaust to an end in the state of Mississippi.

The gates of hell cannot prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ.

We know that all the bastions in hell are apoplectic and will do everything possible to keep this mill functioning.  We also know that abortion is going to come to an end in Mississippi because our God is an Awesome God!  Let Mississippi be the “end of the beginning” of our battle for the lives of preborn children in America.  Let the truth of what is happening here, radiate to saints across this nation to deny themselves, pick up the cross, and follow hard after Christ.  We win when we do, and God receives all the glory.

Enjoy, and give Praise to our Father in Heaven!

Mississippi abortion clinic fights to stay open –

Jackson Women’s Health Organization wants judge to block new state law

11:29 AM, Nov 28, 2012

via ClarionLedger.com

After failing to obtain hospital admitting privileges for its abortion providers despite a months-long effort, the Jackson Women’s Health Organization on Wednesday renewed its request for a federal judge to block enforcement of a new state law.

In a document filed by its attorneys this week, the state’s sole remaining abortion clinic asked the U.S. District Court to prevent state officials from enforcing the law, which it calls an unconstitutional attempt to ban abortion in Mississippi.

“It became clear last week that the clinic had no hope of complying,” said a spokesperson of the New York City-based Center for Reproductive Rights, which represents the clinic in court.  The law went into effect on July 1 and requires all abortion providers to be board certified in obstetrics and gynaecology and have admitting privileges at a local hospital.

The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. Sam Mims, R-McComb, said the clinic has had ample time to comply with the new law. He also denied the clinic’s claims that the law hands over control to the hospitals, whose application denials could force its closure.  “The legislature doesn’t control what hospitals in the Jackson metro area do,” Mims said. “They have their own committees and bylaws set up, and they have to make the best decisions.”  Mims said it’s up to the judge now.

The clinic’s providers already are board-certified ob-gyns, but only one had admitting privileges at the time of the law’s passage. That physician provides only limited service at the clinic, Bernyk said. Those who provide the majority of procedures, including Dr. Willie Parker, were denied privileges after a months-long effort by the clinic to obtain them.  “I have dedicated half of my 20-year career to ensuring women have access to the full range of reproductive health care services—because when women get the medical care they need, they thrive,” said Parker in a statement.

Advocates of the law, including numerous state lawmakers, say it’s designed to protect women’s health, but many also have expressed hope it will shutter Mississippi’s sole abortion clinic. The clinic and the Center for Reproductive Rights had argued before U.S. District Judge Daniel P. Jordan III in July that lawmakers’ true intent was to impose a de-facto ban on abortion by passing laws with which it’s impossible to comply.

Jordan ultimately allowed the law to take effect but blocked the state from imposing any criminal or civil penalties on the clinic, its staff, or its physicians during the application process.

The state Department of Health, tasked with enforcing the law, gave the clinic until January to comply. The clinic sent applications on behalf of all the physicians to every hospital within a 30-mile radius. Many hospitals took months to reply, but all ultimately rejected the requests or refused to consider them.

“The nature of your proposed medical practice is inconsistent with this Hospital’s policies and practices as concerns abortion and, in particular, elective abortions,” read one rejection letter, according to the Center for Reproductive Rights. Said another hospital, “the nature of your proposed medical practice would lead to both an internal and external disruption of the Hospital’s function and business within this community.”

Jackson Women’s Health Organization has operated in the state for 17 years and has been Mississippi’s sole clinic since 2002. Its closure would mean an end to elective abortion in the state, and would force women to travel elsewhere for the procedure.

“This unconstitutional law has essentially handed over the fate of Mississippi women’s reproductive health care to hospital administrators,” said Michelle Movahed, staff attorney at the center. “… The dedicated staff and physicians at the Jackson Women’s Health Organization must be allowed to continue providing safe and legal abortion care without threat of closure.”

Why schedule the 40th Memorial of Roe v. Wade in Jackson, Mississippi?  Because we are called to plead the case of fatherless to win it – not simply to plead it in Washington, D.C.  Here is Rusty’s invitation to Jackson, Mississippi, this January 20-22, 2013.

Roe v. Wade 40th year Anniversary

Plans are being made to give a national call to come to Jackson, MS for the 40th year anniversary of Roe v. Wade. With the advent of Obama’s re-election, it is clear Washington DC will not hear the Christian/Pro-life message. This current administration is not only the most pro-abortion, but Obama as a state senator voted several times to support infanticide. He voted to allow the child to die, if the child survived the the assault against his/her life.

The federal beast has chosen death to solve our economic and moral problems. Jesus taught, “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces” (Matthew 7:6). Thus, we suggest a different strategy is in order. The States of Refuge campaign believes we must first win the battle in the heavenlies and locally on the state level to prepare the way for the day when Washington DC will have no choice but to accept the Christian/Pro-life message as the new law of the land.

Out of the five States of Refuge (Arkansas, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming) with one death camp remaining defiling our land, Mississippi is on the verge of making history in this battle for the souls of men, the lives of children, and the future of our nation. There is a possibility Mississippi will become the first abortion free state right before the 40th year anniversary of Roe v. Wade. States of Refuge believes this is the chosen spot to memorialize those lost to the American holocaust and shout from the roof tops the victory of our Lord! Those who have eyes to see, we hope you see this powerful opportunity set before us.

We have secured the same hotel, Baymont Inn, at the same great price, $65.00 per night. The dates for the 40th year anniversary in Jackson, MS are Sunday, January 20th, which kicks off the event with our first evening rally to Tuesday, January 22, 2013. More details on the two night, three day event will be forthcoming.

A great friend of our Lord Jesus Christ and His precious preborn babies was pummeled at a Denver grocery store while seeking signatures for the Personhood Amendment.  Many of you know Everett Stadig, the Abraham Lincoln look alike who is as gentle and kind a man that I know.  God has given him a tremendous platform in Denver to share the Gospel of Christ and the plight of preborn babies via a very incredible sequence of events.  ~ Flip

Attack on a Pro- Lifers Leads to the Arrest of a Serial Rapist

Everett Stadig is a Christian prolife activist and an Abe Lincoln look alike.  Because of his witness for Jesus and his uncanny resemblance to Abraham Lincoln he is well recognized by everyone in the Stapleton area.  He is also well known by Denver police officers because he is at the Planned Parenthood abortion mill in Stapleton daily where Denver police routinely interact with the prolifers.

June 30, 2012 during the final push to gather signatures for Colorado’s Personhood amendment, 69 Year old Stadig was collecting signatures outside the Stapleton King Soopers when he was attacked and thrown off his bike to the ground by a vulgar, angry man in the parking lot.   There was a witness at the scene that saw the attack and recorded the assailant’s license plate number and gave it to the police.  Everett was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he underwent surgery for a broken hip.

The police report did not identify Everett, it said that an elderly man fell in the King Soopers parking lot.  It said nothing about an altercation, confrontation or attack which was very disturbing to Everett who was lying in a hospital bed with months of rehab ahead of him.  With the help of prolifers and two pro bono lawyers pressure was applied and the Denver police department began to investigate the crime.

Eventuallly, William Costello was arrested for the attack on Everett Stadig.  “Katie’s Law” allows law enforcement to procure DNA samples after a felony arrest.  That DNA linked William Costello to three rapes that he was charged with on November 16, 2012.

Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney’s office stated, “William Costello, 47, has been charged with two counts of second-degree kidnapping, two counts of sexual assault on a child, three counts of sexual assault, and two counts of impersonating a peace officer.  Costello was arrested and charged in July 2012 with assault on an at-risk adult following a confrontation between Costello and a man collecting petition signatures.  “Costello’s DNA was taken at the time of his arrest pursuant to Katie’s Law, and was then linked to three unsolved sexual assault cases occurring in 2008, 2010, and 2011.”

Costello is alleged to have raped a 13 year old girl, in March 2008, a 22 year old woman in 2010 and a 49 year old woman in 2011.

According to Mr. Stadig he was attacked because he collecting personhood signatures.  “In a telephone interview from his hospital bed, Stadig told LifeSiteNews that the man was “in his mid-thirties and looked about six foot tall.” He refused to sign, and began to swear and shout at Stadig.  “He was yelling ‘I’m pro-choice!’”  Stadig recalled, adding that he used “most foul language.”

Stadig explained that being ‘pro-choice’ meant pro-abortion, and again urged him to sign. At first the man walked away, but returned half a minute later, still swearing and yelling.  “He said ‘you don’t have a right to be here!’” Stadig related, “and I said ‘I do have a right to be here, this is a Colorado Petition Drive’. Then he grabbed my petition pad, and with the same movement threw me to ground, and I was hurt so bad I couldn’t get up.”

Seems Mr. Costello has a dog in the fight for personhood.   Where is a rapist going to get rid of the evidence of his crime without the abortionist?

In this news report Denver District Attorney, Mitchell R. Morrissey said that this crime is one of the most “significant offenses that we’ve had”.  He also said that without Katie’s law the cases would have gone unsolved.

Everett Stadig said that without the dogged perseverance of pro-lifers, Attorney Rebecca Messall and Attorney Barry Arrington the case may never have been investigated.  He just may be right.  In light of the fact that the original police report stated that an elderly man fell in the King Sooper’s parking lot despite an eye witness account of the attack. Also nothing was done to pursue his assailant until law enforcement officers were contacted by Everett’s lawyers.

Since Mr. Stadig is a well-known local Christian pro-life activist, could it be that police wrote him off as a nuisance because of a preexisting prejudice against Christian pro-lifers?    That remains to be seen.

Everett can be heard just a day after his surgery in an interview on the Bob Enyart Live radio show.

Here are some pictures of him in the hospital:

My son David just wrote this critique of this article written by former NFL player, Ken Hutcherson.  The article is great and David’s insight even better. ~ Flip

I read an excellent article this morning by a former NFL player, Ken Hutcherson, on the political correctness of many evangelical organizations in America today.  I share his same sentiment when it comes to Christian organizations appeasing evil instead of resisting it.  In a desperate attempt to appear attractive and not “offensive”, an overwhelming number of Christian organizations in America have adopted a politically correct policy of appeasement in the face of evil instead of standing at the mid-point of biblical tension on the social issues of our day.

The article appears below, but first I wanted to share a couple of thoughts about Mr. Hutcherson, his recent political stand, and his willingness to fight God’s battles.

First of all, it’s interesting that Ken is a former NFL football player.  This is an aggressive sport.  He got paid to smack dudes in the mouth.  I played football, and I love watching it too.  The reason men in America love this sport is because it’s aggressive.  Aggression is in our DNA, God put it there.  When men get saved God doesn’t change our DNA, He redeems it.  The same aggression we once had for evil is now used for good.  This means standing against evil, even if it’s not easy.  We’re men, that’s what we do.

In terms of Ken’s take on Referendum 74 (same sex marriage vote), if evil is being accepted and appreciated at the national level, aggressive Christian men must lead the charge against it.  In the late 1940’s England realized this truth with Neville Chamberlain’s Policy of Appeasement and the Nazi regime.  Chamberlain thought he could somehow “appease” the fuehrer, yet Winston Churchill aggressively stood against this policy and proclaimed that they must kill Hitler and destroy the regime in its entirety.  It wasn’t long before Chamberlain’s “politically correct” policy fell flat on its face, and Churchill – the more aggressive man – took the reins and joined America in defeating the beast called, Naziism.

My dad always taught me to be aggressive for righteousness and to be a man willing to let the Lion roar when He needs to roar (remember the statement by C.S. Lewis – “Aslan is not a tame lion”).  He taught me seven biblical characteristics of King David’s fighting men – Ken is applying several of these:

1.  Disciplined to Fight:  1 Chronicles 12:2 – They were armed with bows and were able to shoot arrows or to sling stones right-handed or left-handed…”

2.  Run to the Roar:  1 Chronicles 12:14-15 –  These Gadites were army commanders; the least was a match for a hundred, and the greatest for a thousand.  It was they who crossed the Jordan in the first month…and they put to flight everyone living in the valleys, to the east and to the west.

3.  Ready to Fight at All Times:  1 Chronicles 12:23-25 –  These are the numbers of the men armed for battle who came to David…men of Judah, carrying shield and spear…men of Simeon, warriors ready for battle.

4.  Able to Stand:  1 Chronicles 12:30 –  Men of Ephraim, brave warriors, famous in their clans.

5.  The Biblical Worldview:  1 Chronicles 12:32 –  Men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.

6.  Expert in War & Ready to Win:  1 Chronicles 12:33 –  Men of Zebulun, experienced soldiers prepared for battle with every type of weapon, to help David with undivided loyalty.

7.  Men of Vision – Ready to Fight for their King:  1 Chronicles 12:38 –  …They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel.  All the rest of the Israelites were also of one mind to make David king…”

Now is the time, men.  Drop the appeasement and let the lion roar.  This is what Love looks like in the face of evil.  This is what Truth does when Lies rule the day.  We do this because Christ has asked us to love others more than ourselves, even when it hurts.

Johnnie Hunter said it best when we were together in Waco, Texas, in 1996.  The bride of Christ in the black church has been bribed and bought by the Democratic Party.  This is sad! ~ Flip

This report covers our activity at Jackson State University.  We had some incredible conversations.  The graphic Display that Tom Raddell, Dale, Mike Warren, and Jerry Crawford, set up was thought provoking to say the least.  We were amazed at the kindness and affirmation of the Gospel of Christ at this predominantly black university.  It was awesome to share Christ with these students.

“Sir, did you know they are killing babies right there?” asked a young blond woman as a Jackson Free Press reporter approached the Jackson Women’s Health Organization in Fondren.

Anti-abortion activists from six states are occupying each of the four corners at State Street and Fondren Place as part of a nationwide campaign known as States of Refuge.

Dueling sound systems–an anti-abortion protester preaching from the Bible and a clinic security guard blaring police siren noises–annoyed local business owners and resulted in a visit from two Jackson police officers who stood by to keep the peace.

The Mississippi campaign is especially important for the anti-abortion movement, said organizer Chet Gallagher of Nevada.

“This one has the opportunity to close before the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade,” said Gallagher, who wore a black leather jacket and black baseball cap with the word “Jesus” in red lettering.

Earlier this year, Mississippi lawmakers passed a law requiring doctors at abortion clinics to be certified OB/GYNs and have admitting privileges at a local hospital. The new law is an additional regulatory layer that could shutter JWHO, the only abortion clinic in the state, whose doctors come from outside Mississippi to perform abortions.

A federal judge put full implementation of the law on hold to give the clinic time to comply, but if none of the hospitals where JWHO applied for admitting privileges accepts the clinic’s application, Mississippi could become the only state where women would not have access to abortion, a right guaranteed by a 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision.

The Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas believes the Declaration of Independence, which guarantees Americans the “right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” supersedes the court’s ruling because the word life appears first.

“Without life there is no liberty,” said Thomas, a native of Waco, Texas.

The States of Refuge campaign, which is part of the anti-abortion network Operation Rescue/Operation Save America, began the day after Election Day, Nov. 7, and continued through Sunday, Nov. 11.
