PASTORAL RESPONSE TO GAY PRIDE ARREST INACCURACIES:
Response to INACCURACIES TO "Pastor Arrested at Gay Pride Festival."
by Daniel McCoy, Wichita Eagle, June 30, 2008
Your article stated several things that were false, inaccurate, or misleading.
1. That "1,000 attended the festival" is a gross exaggeration. It was more like 350 at most.
2. That "20 members of Spirit One Christian Center was there." That was off by 100% - it was 40 members.
3. That I was "arrested at last year's event on the charge of criminal trespassing, which was later dropped." It was not only dropped because it was a false arrest, but also the City is currently in negotiations to settle with me out of court due to the gross prejudicial acts against Christians that day.
4. That, "Police said witnesses told them that upon exiting, Holick removed his $5 admission button, asked for his money back and threw it at Witt, striking him in the arm." I did not throw anything. Witt was standing around 5 feet from me, I gently, with an underhand motion, tossed the button (weighing approximately less than 1/2 (.5) of one ounce) to him. We have all of this on video. In addition, Sgt. Moore (the one who placed me under arrest) witnessed the situation.
5. Most notably is the omission in your article, that every Christian that day was forced to leave, many of them did nothing but talk to people. Christians who were forced to leave simply because they were Christians. Could you imagine if homosexuals were asked to leave because they were homosexuals?? You see, it was simply because we were Christians, who love homosexuals enough to tell that their life style, is a destructive lifestyle. That
statistically it reduces their life expectancy by 20 years! (Fields, Dr. E. "Is homosexual Activity Normal?" Marietta, GA.) That 78% of homosexuals are affected by STDs. Rueda, E. "The Homosexual Network." Old Greewich, Conn., The Devin Adair Company, 1982, p. 53.)
You see Daniel, the wages of sin is always...death. Romans 6:23
THOSE WHO CRY THE LOUDEST FOR "TOLERANCE" ARE THE MOST INTOLERANT OF ALL.
6. One of our members was forcibly, physically removed by "security", when the same Sergeant that arrested me was told, he did nothing.
