The Battle Against the Homosexual Agenda Must be Won! To: editor@charlotterighteous.com December 7, 2005 I stumbled upon your website this evening and was compelled to drop you a note. I am a California resident and I work with the states largest gay & lesbian civil rights organization, which I will refrain from naming at this time. I watched your video clip of the pride celebration and, I must say, I believe you guys are taking things way out of context. First off, I believe it is the responsibility of the parents of the children whom were running loose at the event to decide whether or not the activities that were occurring were appropriate for their children. Those children didn't drive themselves to the event. There had to have been some sort of parental or adult supervision. Is it not the responsibility of parents to monitor the activities of their children? Secondly, I think you're misinterpreting the events you observed. Most of what I saw on the video is what we in the gay community refer to as a “drag show.” It is where men dress as a female to impersonate various celebrities, recording artists, etc. They often lip sync to various songs, sometimes songs that are outrageous and funny like the ones you were showing on your website. You need to keep into context the audience that the entertainment is intended for. Obviously, the entertainment is intended for a gay and lesbian and/or gay friendly audience. It was not intended for a Christian audience, which is why you were offended. If you are offended by a show of that nature, then stay off of the streets during gay pride. It's very simple. Just as you have a right to be on public property protesting abortion, we have a right to be on public property celebrating gay pride. What disturbs me most about your article is the insinuation that the gay community supports pedophilia. For years, our community has faced this kind of ridicule from the church. Unfortunately, there are some very unintelligent Christians who take events out of context as you have done here to try and establish a case for this. I watched your video and saw a drag queen pick up a child while they were dancing, another one interacts with the children while he was performing, and then a picture of a shirtless man standing next to a boy with his arm around him. How is that promoting pedophilia? You are insinuating that those individuals (the drag queens and man w/o his shirt) are pedophiles, when, in actuality, you have absolutely no proof to base that hypothesis on. You should be ashamed of yourselves for labeling individuals as such, when there was absolutely nothing obscene about the drag show other than some of the language. Again, if that kind of language is offensive, then it is the responsibility of the parents to remove their children from the environment. In closing, I'd like to offer a link to a page which outlines a very important event in gay and lesbian history, which is the reason we have gay pride festivals and marches throughout the country. The event is know as “Stonewall” and was the beginning of the gay and lesbian civil rights movement in our country. The link is here: http://eserver.org/gender/stonewall-history.txt Just as you claim to pray for the souls of gay and lesbian people, I will be praying that the Lord has mercy on your souls for misrepresenting our community, and contributing to the prejudices of our society in spreading the disease of homophobia. Nathan Christoffersen Following is the response from charlotterighteous.com editor December 12, 2005 Dear Nathan, Parading this filth in the city streets is not acceptable by any decent measure -- especially when it is done in front of small children. Did the stage performer realize that there were small children in the audience, when he proclaimed, "Give me that long black dick!" and "I've got cracker jacks up my ass! Eat me! Eat me! I taste so good!" and "Frosty the snowman has a frozen dick?" He absolutely knew it. Did it stop him? Absolutely not. Why? The reason is obvious. The performers and organizers of this event have no regard for the welfare of small children and absolute disdain for the Laws of the God of the Holy Bible. Nathan, the root of our disagreement lies in our standards of morality. All that we consider good or evil will be defined by our standard of morality. I believe in the authority and morality defined by the Holy Bible, which defines homosexuality, just like the sin of idolatry, as an abomination. If you say that the government should not legislate morality, then I must reply by pointing out that morality is the only thing that can be legislated, and the only question that remains is, "Whose morality should be legislated?" My vote is for the morality defined by the Holy Bible. Although homosexuals contend that they were "born that way," the Bible states clearly that all men are evil from birth. If I were born a compulsive liar, should my compulsion become a civil rights issue? Such an assertion is absolutely ridiculous. Furthermore, might I point out that there are plenty of former homosexuals but no former African Americans. Homosexuality is not a civil rights issue. Homosexuals do not have the right to promote immorality especially when it involves parading their perversity in the public square. Just as it would be improper, immoral, and (I would contend) illegal to have a public gathering to promote child abuse, torture, or perjury, it is equally improper, immoral, and illegal to publicly meet to promote homosexuality. Sodomy is still illegal in the state of North Carolina, and just because our law enforcement does not enforce certain laws, does not give homosexuals the right to publicly promote or even participate in sexual immorality. Given our present cultural climate, homosexuals are able to parade their perversity in the streets, but they cannot do it by right. Finally, Nathan, I implore you to listen to the conscience that God gave you. Christ is strong enough to deliver you out of your sins even if you are not! Simply trust Him and submit to His authority. He is able!
