Emails to Mr. D.

Emails to Mr. D.

Here are two of the emails that were sent to Phil Donahue after his show "Do Jews Go to Heaven" aired. It would have been better titled "Why are you Christians so Bigoted and Mean." We encourage you to love Mr. Donahue this Christmas season by emailing him and telling him the Truth. Jesus has come to give Mr. Donahue life and have it more abundantly.

Phil,

I did not like your attitude on the show Tues. night. You were trying to make Christians look like Islam terrorists. I have been a Christian for 20 years and know thousands of Christians. None are like the ones you were trying to paint a picture of. My granddaughters play with neighbors that are unsaved, and they love them. My 10-year old was trying to call you but the lines were busy. We all love the lost and befriend them. We don't look down on those that are not saved, we were once unsaved, too. You made it look like a sin that Christian parents teach their children morals and truth through God's word. You never gave Rev. Benham a chance to give you any scriptures about Jesus being the only way to Heaven. We did not say that, God Almighty did.

Your show was biased to portray your opinion. The rabbi seemed full of hate. The other two Baptist reverends were good but not aggressive enough to expound on what true Christianity is. If you really want to know the truth - PRAY to God and He will show you. If you want to be a mocker, than you won't know the truth until you're dead, and it will be too late then. For scripture says "once to die and then the judgment." It also says "every knee will bow to Jesus" and "the way is narrow and very few find it." We are all praying for the veil to be removed from your eyes, so you are not blinded by the small gods of this world.

Mr. Donahue,

You will no doubt roll your eyes and skim through this (if you read it at all), but I do have some answers to the questions you would not let your Christian panel answer.

What happened to the Jewish people was a horrid brutal massacre, but it was not the result of Christianity. It was the result of the sinful nature of man. Just because one goes to church or uses the name of Christ does not make him a Christian. A Christian is one who has repented of his sinful nature and has given his life to Jesus. Jesus does not call upon you to take the life of others, but rather to lay your life down for them. The true Christians gave their lives for the Jewish people, true Christians like Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

but Jesus, in his infinite mercy, has made a way to be reconciled back to Him. He laid down his life so that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Yes, we talk often about the life to come because whether or not you understand our motives, we do not want you to be eternally separated from the God who created you and cast into a literal hell that was created for the demons that rebelled against Him. God desires that all men (Jewish, Muslim, Atheist, etc.) would be saved. But we refer to this life as well. He created you for his purposes here on earth, not your own selfish desires that lead to that discontentment that is so obvious in you.

Please, at least ponder this. You and your wife have spent your life encouraging others to pursue things that are in direct opposition to the ways of Jesus. You would not have the freedom to do those things, but God Himself has given you life and also a free moral choice to accept Him or reject Him. Either there is an authority greater than you, of which there could only be one and not many, or you yourself are your own god. Here lies your choice. Decide today who is lord of your life. But think about this - If I am wrong, then I have lived my life the way I thought was best and we are all going to heaven so I have nothing to lose, but if I am right, you sir, have everything to lose! Everything!
