God is Still Speaking. What is He Saying? Photo of the Day Many of the signs and billboards in Florida were no match for Hurricane Charley. However, one billboard resisted the 100-mile per hour winds of the eye wall of the storm. While the billboard still stands, the advertisement that was there when Hurricane Charley hit was pealed back to reveal an earlier message. When the sun rose the next morning on Sand Lake Road in Orlando, Florida the words on the billboard clearly read:
Steve Lefemine sent us this e-mail. Flip's commentary follows: And some people would debate that God is sending a message of chastisement to Florida for their 73 abortion child-murder centers*, for their threat to kill Terri Schiavo by dehydration and starvation, and for Disney's "Gay Days" (Disney is in Orlando). * Florida is the # 3 child-murder state in America , behind California (128 abortion child-murder centers, which just had another earthquake today), and New York (77 abortion child-murder centers, where the 9-11 attacks took their heaviest toll). George Mason, co-father of the Bill of Rights (with Patrick Henry): "By an inevitable chain of causes and effects, Providence punishes national sins by national calamities." [He was talking about the national sin of slavery in 1787 - 74 years later the national calamity of the War between Americans began in 1860, which took the lives of 620,000 Americans, North and South, by the end of that tragic war, in 1865.] "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city [or a nation, America], and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets." Amos 3:6-7. The prophets are warning, America : REPENT! The prophets are warning, Church in America : REPENT! Repent of child-murder by abortion. Repent of the abomination of sodomy. REPENT! Commentary from Flip: Are the recent catastrophes that have come to these three states (California, New York, and Florida) coincidence? I don't think so. I believe God is speaking clearly. I find it absolutely astonishing that God is still willing to speak to us at all, after what we have done to drag His wonderful Name through the mud. It is so reminiscent of His call to His recalcitrant, wayfaring people in Isaiah's time, "Come now and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18. It is reminiscent Of Jesus weeping over His people in Jerusalem, "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings but you were not willing. Look, your house is left to you desolate." Matthew 23:37-38. God is merciful - He cannot help Himself. That is what He is. He desires mercy not sacrifice. He has been long-suffering with America, not desiring our destruction. But, for thirty-one years now we have continued in the killing of His babies and seem intent on killing even more. We have made homosexual sodomy a "constitutional right." (Something that God has called an abomination!) In our new found tolerance for every religion except Christianity we have blasphemed the very Name (Jesus) that can save us. Yet, God is merciful still. His signs and judgments, no matter how severe, are calling us to return to Him. He still longs to gather us under His wing. The theological term for this is, Repentance. Look at recent signs and judgments. Can you connect the dots? California leads this nation in child-murder (128 abortion mills), homosexual sodomy, and "religions" of any color imaginable. Conservative Christians in California voted for pro-death, pro-homosexual, pro (any religion but Christianity) Arnold Schwarzenegger for Governor. Earthquakes, governmental bankruptcy, cities aflame with sin, school systems utterly devoid of God, and Christians voting for a pro-death Governor. God is speaking. Do you hear him now? New York is second in this nation in child-murder (77 abortion mills). It has given us two rabidly pro-abortion Senators (Schumer and Clinton), a pro-abortion governor (Pataki), and a pro-abortion former Mayor (Giuliani). 9-11 anyone? God is speaking. Do you hear him now? Florida ranks third in this nation in child-murder (73 abortion mills). Last week its Supreme Court unanimously ruled (7-0) to starve Terri Schaivo to death. Its flagrant support of the homosexual lifestyle is renown. It has been hit with four separate hurricanes within a month's span. The last time any state ( Texas ) was hit with four separate hurricanes was in 1886. God is speaking. Do we hear Him now? The first three states leading in abortion have been recently struck with devastating disasters. Some of these disasters have resulted in a great loss of human life. Some have resulted in the catastrophic loss of property. Others have resulted in warnings of the horrors that might come. All, I would suggest, are signs and judgments from God Himself to repent. Our walk across America ended at the White House in Washington, D.C., on August 28, 2004. For six long months eleven of us crossed this nation proclaiming, in the most visible way, that the Church of Jesus Christ in America had failed our nation. Our parable was a call to national repentance! Of course, judgment begins in the house of God. We Christians must be the first to humble ourselves - admit our complicity, duplicity, and cover-up over the sin ravaging our nation. Then we must seek forgiveness and healing through the only One who can forgive and heal. As we walked this parable across the highways of America, we spoke in the Name of the only true God, Jesus Christ! We became a prophetic warning from God Himself to His people (His Church) and to America that we had turned our faces far from Him. God used the "foolish things" of this world to speak to a nation hell-bent on national destruction. Did we hear Him then? With all we had within us and God's magnificent grace filling our hearts, we heralded this message through the highways and byways of our wonderful nation. Millions saw and heard the message. Many agreed with their "Amen's" along the way. Many became violently angry and called us colorful names like, "Jesus Nazis, bigots, hate-mongers," ad nauseam. They whined that we must, "Stop the hate" which, of course, meant that we must stop telling the truth! The city governments and police arrested us on several occasions because, they said, "We were disturbing the peace." Yes, we were disturbing the peace of those who rip little children apart, sodomize each other, and believe that "we all worship the same God - just with a different name." Interesting that after each arrest, the police, with the eager help of the District Attorneys and City fathers, let us go if we promised to leave town that very day! I wonder how our Founding Fathers would regard their modern day interpretation of the First Amendment: Any behavior or any speech, no matter how perverse, has the absolute right to be expressed........except if that behavior or speech should lift up the Name of Jesus Christ and allow His truth to expose the horrible wickedness of anyone's sin. At this point said speech will be considered HATE. If said speech should expose the sin of a nation, it will result in immediate imprisonment. How often we heard the mantra, "We believe in your First Amendment rights, just not this, not here, not now!" Played another way it goes something like this, "We believe in your message and your right to express it, but we disagree with your methodology." Does any of this sound familiar to you? All of this brings me to a very disturbing conclusion. Most of the people, who saw this prophetic parable walking through their cities and heard the proclamation of the Gospel, didn't appear particularly moved one way or the other. Unfazed by the strange sight of horses, a donkey, a small casket, and a broken set of the Ten Commandments, most went on their way thinking nothing of what they had just seen or heard. They were busy and really didn't have time. There is a famine in the land of America. It is not a famine of food or thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of God. Amos 8:11. It is not that the Word of God is not preached. There isn't another nation on the face of the earth that has more preaching, teaching, singing, and praying of the Word of God than America. It's just that we don't hear it any more. This is a judgment directly from God Himself, just like it was in Amos' day. He is getting ready to end it all for America because of the shedding of innocent blood. He has not been silent about this as His prophetic warnings and judgments reveal. We are just slow to hear. We are not going to get away with it. His delay in our final judgment should not be mistaken for His approval. His delay is a kindness to us and is meant to bring us to national repentance over the wholesale slaughter of His children. He desires mercy not sacrifice, but His cataclysmic judgment will come if we continue in our hardhearted way. "He who is oft reproved yet stiffens his neck, will one day be broken beyond all healing." Proverbs 29:1. His judgments are now upon us. Yet we still do not hear. Like the Titanic before us, we are plunging on our way with ever increasing speed toward certain death, ignoring every warning that danger lies ahead because we are certain the ship cannot sink. There is indeed a famine of hearing God's Word! God is speaking. Do you hear Him now? Flip
