Republican Convention Speaker Roster Reveals Pending Split By Flip Benham In watching the Republican Party Convention, three weeks ago, I noticed a parade of speakers who not only didn't adhere to the Republican Party platform but were the antithesis of what it stands for. David Barton, Ralph Reed, and Jerry Falwell settled for these speakers saying nary a word. They didn't ask what is Schwarzenegger, a prochoice, progay-marriage advocate, doing speaking to us? Or, why is social liberal Giuliani up there? We know Schwarzenegger and Giuliani don't stand on the Republican platform. Those Christian leaders didn't say anything because they wanted to keep the aura of unity within the party. The prolife people were given the party platform and, the fact is, it's worthless as far as the movers and shakers of the Republican Party are concerned. Didn't Dole say in 1996 that he didn't even read the platform Republicans are being prepared for a prochoice (prodeath) candidate. They are being baited for 2008. Notice the talk about the Republican Party being a “big tent” party. The Democrats have always been the “big tent” party. You can't be a “big tent” and stand for righteousness. California Republicans wanted to get Gray Davis out of office, but wanted someone they were sure could win, so they chose prochoice, prohomosexual Arnold Schwarzenegger. Could that be the way it will happen in 2008? What will you do when the choice is between Hillary Rodham Clinton and a prochoice Republican? We were bought with the price of a platform and we were sold at the expense of God's Word. Looking at this year's Republican convention, I see God is dividing the party. You can't serve two masters, either the Republican Party is going to be your lord and you will compromise all of God's principles, or Jesus will be your Lord and you will stand stalwartly upon the principals of Almighty God. No longer will you be able to waver between two opinions and it is going to split the party and open the door for an enemy of God to become president. It is going to pave the way for a Democrat to win without a majority vote. As soon as Republicans nominate a prochoice candidate for president, you're going to see this rift. Democrats are going to play on the major fissure in the Republican Party. They are going to make the same accusations of flip flop that Republicans have used so well. “Which are you prolife or proabortion? Flip flop, flip flop.” “Are you pro-homosexual or anti-homosexual? Flip flop, flip flop.” “Are you pro-Christianity or pro all religions? Flip flop Have we ever seen anything like this before? Of course we have. In the 1850's the Democrats were absolutely proslavery and the Whig party tried to be “big tent.” It had both pro and antislavery members. In 1856, the Republican party formed. Its first candidate was John Freemont. He wasn't much of a player. He lost big time. It was still a small party when, in 1860, Republicans sponsored Abraham Lincoln as their candidate. He ran and won because the slavery issue had decimated the Whig Party. This same Republican Party has now forgotten its rich heritage and is selling its birthright for a mess of pottage. It has forgotten that it stood with God and put into office a man that God was going to use to end slavery. President Lincoln's desire was to save the union, but God used him to end slavery. Now we've come to be like the Whig party, not over slavery, but over the issue of the humanity of little boys and girls. Republicans are like the guy who appeases the crocodile. He feeds the crocodile hoping he'll be the last one to be eaten. We've been feeding this crocodile and now we're going to be eaten. God is going to force us to choose. “If the Lord be God, follow Him. But if Baal is God, then follow him.” (1Kings 18:21) Choose this day whom you will serve.
