Judge Roy Moore Unrepentant! Janet Spear ( a stalwart sidewalk counselor in Birmingham, Alabama). Janet has been one of our Lord's faithful warriors standing with Chief Justice Roy Moore as he stands for Christ. She was in Montgomery for most of the month of August, camping out on the steps of the Alabama Supreme Court building. Her picture was often taken and displayed in newspapers across the country. She is the lady with the funny hat, but a brilliant mind. She returned to Montgomery for the November 12, trial (Kangaroo Court) where Chief Justice Moore was removed from office. Below, just a few of her poignant observations. Just got back to B'ham from Montgomery. As I am sure you know, Roy Moore was found guilty/removed from office by a unanimous vote. . .For a victim of such a concerted, vicious, gang attack, he was remarkably composed leaving the courthouse and dealing with an equally hostile press. One especially loud female reporter kept demanding to know when he would clean out his office. When asked, "what are you going to do now?" he said he was going to go home and see his wife. When this did not satisfy the questioner, (amazing, is it not, how these folks, with rare if any exceptions, seem to feel much more entitled to information about others than willing to share similar info with them. . .elitism, chauvinism...), he said he would continue to travel and speak on the meaning of the first amendment. He did comment on his alleged "lack of contrition/remorse/repentance" regarding his alleged "crime," stating that these were appropriate attitudes towards our Creator, not towards His creatures. I would add, particularly if those creatures' only charge against you is acknowledging a being/power greater, higher than themselves. It is strange and more than a little disturbing that remorse, contrition, repentance, etc. -- attitudes one might reasonably expect of a murderer -- should be implicitly demanded of someone for objecting to murder and other evils. Moore also remarked that the message this court had sent is clear: those who acknowledge God cannot hold public office without the permission of (federal) judges...not even ELECTED office. So much for free elections. . .
