The Battle Between Two Seeds in Montgomery, AL By Flip Benham
God is painting a vivid picture of the battle for the heart and soul of our nation. On the one hand you have a monument of the Ten Commandments. This is the very law of God that our Constitution is founded upon. Our federal government says that this monument violates the separation of Church and State and must be removed from the federal building. On the other hand, there is another monument that you probably have heard nothing about. The Greek goddess of justice stands guard outside the federal court building where Judge Myron Thompson presides. Her name is Themes. Federal marshals have surrounded her and guard this statue day and night. Here in lies the battle between two seeds. As one of our Founding Fathers, Patrick Henry said this “It cannot be emphasized too often or too strongly that this nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is for this very reason that people of other faiths have been afforded prosperity, asylum, and freedom of worship.” The very reason other religions can find tolerance in America is because there is genuine liberty in this nation. “Where the Sprit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” The very reason that Themes can be memorialized is because this is a Christian nation founded upon biblical law. We have freedom of religion because we have freedom in Christ. It is in this openness for all to come to Christ that there is tolerance for other religions. America is not great because she is diverse. She is diverse because she is built upon the foundation of Christ who desires all nations to come to Him. On the other hand, Themes is tolerant of all behaviors and lifestyles no matter how perverse, but absolutely intolerant of Jesus who is the Christ and His commandments. That is why we are in the position we are in Montgomery, Alabama today. Intolerance and murder come when false gods rule the day. “…All those who hate Me, love death.” Proverbs 8:38 As the Creator of the Universe has been replaced by the false gods of this day, murder has run rampant throughout this nation. True justice and tolerance can only come though Christ who is the embodiment of God’s Law, the Ten Commandments. These commandments are the very character of God. “It is extremely important to our nation, in a political as well as religious view, that all possible authority and influence should be given to the scriptures; for these furnish the best principles of civil liberty, and the most effectual support of republican government…The Scriptures were intended by God to be the guide of human reason. The Creator of man established the moral order of the Universe; knowing that human reason, left without a divine guide or rule of action, would fill the world with disorder, crime and misery.” Noah Webster 1832
