National Right to Life Violates the Word of God (Again)

National Right to Life on Frist, Lott positions

This is a statement from the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) in Washington, D.C.

"The National Right to Life Committee is providing the following information in response to a number of press inquiries in connection with the news coverage surrounding the office of Senate Majority Leader.

Regarding the position of Senator Bill Frist (R-Tn.) on pro-life issues:

Senator Frist has a pro-life voting record. In a 1998 letter to constituents, Senator Frist wrote, "As a physician, my professional ethics are grounded in preserving life, and I am opposed to abortion. I would make exceptions for instances of rape, incest, or to preserve the life of the mother." Regarding human cloning -- another pro-life issue much in the news recently -- Senator Frist has repeatedly expressed support for legislation to ban the cloning of human embryos; President Bush and National Right to Life also support such legislation.

Outgoing Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-Ms.) has maintained a pro-life voting record throughout his congressional career, and supports banning all human cloning.

All of the Senate votes of all senators on specific pro-life issues scored by the National Right to Life Committee over the past six years are posted on the NRLC website, www.nrlc.org, in the Legislative Action Center."

National Right to Life Violates the Word of God (Again)

Once again National Right to Life (NRL) has demonstrated its failure to uphold a biblical standard regarding the sanctity of all human life.

Apparently NRL does not accept the biblical, Reformation teaching that God's Law must properly be the moral foundation for ALL civil law. The simple, clear statement of the Sixth Commandment is: "You shall not murder."

There are no "exceptions" to God's Commandment in Exodus 20:13. NRL has in effect set itself as an authority higher than the Word of God.

It is NOT Pro-Life to be against child-murder "except" in cases where the innocent victim was conceived in an act of rape or incest; nor is it necessary to intentionally destroy an unborn child's life by procured abortion for the purpose of saving the life of the mother.

Senator Bill Frist (R-TN) is definitely NOT Pro-Life, by the confession of his own mouth, as demonstrated in the statement from the Washington, DC-based National Right to Life Committee above. Frist is no more Pro-Life, than it would be for someone to have claimed to be Pro-Abolition, and yet support keeping certain categories of African-Americans in the bondage of slavery; or for someone to have claimed to be pro-Jew, and yet support allowing certain categories of Jews to be exterminated in the Nazi gas chambers.

It is an abomination, an act of treachery against the Word of God, and an example of prostituting one's fiduciary responsibility, for NRL to once again bow before the Elephant god and affirm the Republican Party Establishment choice for Lott's replacement, when that replacement, Bill Frist, supports allowing thousands of children that are conceived in the difficult cases mentioned, to be "legally" torn to pieces, slaughtered in their mothers' wombs. NRLC and Bill Frist should repent.
