On October 2, 2002, Neil Sandlin emailed Michael Piazza, the pastor of Cathedral of Hope (Despair) in a genuine effort to reach out to him and his congregation. The Cathedral of Hope is the largest homosexual congregation in the nation. Neil has been faithful to bring the true Gospel of Christ to the youth at this "church" every Tuesday night with OSA - Dallas. Below is Neil's email and the response from Mr. Piazza followed by encouragement from Flip.

This is Neil's email:

Hello friend,

I am a part of a ministry that meets at your church on Tuesday nights, to reach out to many of the homosexual students that your church reaches out to. Every Tuesday night we stand on the sidewalk, and encourage students to come and talk to us about Jesus and the plans that God has for their lives. It breaks my heart, sir! There is so much pain and hurt in these kid's lives and it is a result of the sin that they are enslaved to. It is true Jesus loves us exactly as we are, but He loves us too much to leave us like we are. There have been many things that we have been called and even times when we have been threatened. We do not come on Tuesdays to promote hate or be violent in any way. The means that we use are simply the singing of praises to our Lord, the reading of Scripture, and the proclamation of the Truth. I have no clue what you have been told, or if you even know about our ministry.

I believe it is very clear from Scripture and from natural laws, that homosexuality is a sin. I recently read an article in the Washington Post where it mentions that there have been 1400 deaths in your church due to AIDS in the last fourteen years. That is an average of 100 people a year. I believe it is pointless to get into a theological debate over homosexuality. In your heart you know the Truth and my words would only make you angry. That is not my intent. My intent however, is to proclaim to you that Jesus Christ is Lord and He has given you a great responsibility to minister to people. But in choosing to be a minister of the Gospel, you are given very specific requirements to follow. Sir, I believe that the things that are being encouraged in your church are ruining the lives of so many. We simply want to offer these students on Tuesday night true Hope, a Hope that is only found in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and God's Spirit within them guiding them into all Truth. These students need someone who is strong enough, and have enough backbone to stand up and tell them that this is not the will of God for their lives.

Will you please be the man that God has called you to be and help these students by giving them true Hope, a Hope that is free from sin. They are hurting and they need the Truth. I am a youth pastor. God has laid a burden on my heart for students, and it kills me to see these people so hurt and confused. There have been so many times when students or parents have wanted to talk with us, but your elders and workers would not let them. What are we saying that is so hurtful or condemning? Jesus loves and Jesus changes lives. He is not in the business of saving us and leaving us as we are. I am praying for you, these students, and your church. I have great faith that God is going to change your heart and use you to help so many that are dealing with this sin and salvation.

I would love to hear back from you. I do not come in hate, but in the grace of God that teaches us to live upright, Godly, and moral lives in this present age. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

This is the response Neil received from Michael Piazza:

I think you are an evil demented group who have twisted your faith into justification for your bigotry.

What else other than evil could motivate people to commit legal child abuse! You are EVIL, EVIL, EVIL! I would much rather be in my shoes on judgment day.

(Neil notes: I don't stand in my shoes, but Jesus stands for me.)

The young people you torment have been abused by churches like yours long enough. They have been harassed at school by terrorists that you train. They have been abandoned by parents whose values you warp. YOU are the reason three times as many gay and lesbian teenagers attempt suicide. YOU are the reason so many teenage boys contract AIDS. YOU have made them feel rejected by the God who created them so why shouldn't they contract AIDS and die. Their deaths are the responsibility of religious bigots like YOU!

(Neil notes: He doesn't allow them to take any responsibility for themselves.)

If you hear anger in this email then you have heard correctly. For 25 years I have had to try and heal the wounds you and your brand of Fundamentalism has caused. You are NO BETTER than the fundamentalist terrorists who flew the planes into the World Trade Center. Like them your bigotry and self-righteousness has blinded you. They killed 3000 people in a day. You are killing them one life at a time!

You are evil and I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.

Do you honestly think that Jesus would torment these young people into drugs and suicide like you do? If that is the kind of God you serve then you are probably doing them a favor by turning them into atheist. YOU have a life-time of repenting to do!

Keep shining for Jesus, Neil! You are a blessing to us and to the Lord!

This is the typical response we get from those promoting abortion, homosexuality, and a myriad of other perversions. Michael Piazza is angry. It floods his vexed soul and he is helpless to cover it up. It isn't young Christian men like Neil Sandlin that cause these poor young kids, enslaved in homosexual sin, to commit suicide. It is the wages of their own sin. Yes, sin brings with it death! Mr. Piazza is an agent of the devil himself.

It is time for the "niceties" to stop and for us to confront Mr. Piazza for what he really is - a savage wolf! He has been used by the devil to rob, kill, and destroy countless thousands of lives. Men of God must proclaim this truth from the housetops. If we do not, we will be guilty of hating him rather than loving him (Lev 19:17). Biblical love demands that we be involved, not sit back and tolerate his crime. We must not allow him to continue leading lambs, lost in their own sin, to hell!

Mr. Piazza preaches a different (heteros) gospel with a different (heteros) spirit (2 Cor 11: 3-4) and is bringing death with his false witness. Neil is bringing life with his true witness. Proverbs 14:25 "A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is deceitful." Piazza is a liar and Neil is a truth speaker. Neil points people, no matter how debauched in their sin, to repentance and life in Jesus! Mr. Piazza lures people to accept their sin in the name of his false concept of Jesus, and leads them to death.

Yes, we know Mr. Piazza. The first thing he does is point out everybody else's sin, therefore he does not have to deal with his own. Notice the first thing he did to Neil. He resorted to argument ad hominen (name-calling). This always happens when one has lost an argument theologically, morally, scientifically, historically, and every other "ly" you can conceive.

Piazza is a spiritual dimwit (pun intended), who does not have the theological depth of a pie tin, yet is preaching what itching ears want to hear. No repentance in his message, just acceptance. He is a false witness of our Lord's love and must be exposed, or he will lead many to their ultimate destruction.

For those timid and very gooey, lovey-dovey types in the church who believe that Neil might be doing wrong, or is unnecessarily harsh in his witnessing endeavors, simply ask them why they have such a difficult time loving those for whom Christ died. "The wounds of a friend bring healing, but the kisses of an enemy are profuse." Prov 27:6
