The Power of Pictures

The outrage that pictures showing the abuse of Iraqi prisoners raises an interesting point regarding the influence of images. Showing these pictures brought an end to despicable acts and stripped away the rationalization and justification from the minds of those responsible. They caused the authorities to take action against these abuses.

This is why pro-life advocates for the unborn show horrible pictures of aborted babies in public places and at abortion clinics. They do it to strip away the rationalization and justification from those responsible for the death of these children and to motivate the public to bring an end to this despicable chapter in American history.
