A Response to “A Lying Spirit”

Posted below is an email Flip received in response to his article “A Lying Spirit Manifests Itself in the Presidential Debates.” There are many who email us concerning the President and his policies regarding abortion and homosexuality. As you continue to read, Flip will try to clarify his thoughts about President Bush truly being a born-again Christian and why he waivers on these issues. (As a side note, the remark about Flip's followers might not have been said as an insult, but I would like to address it. There are many who serve in this ministry. Although it is true that God calls people to come along side of leaders to help them in the work they have been given, the One we follow is the Lord Jesus. It is His truth that we seek and His ways that we follow which have led us to participate in the ministry of Operation Save America. – Kristene)

While you are correct in stating that Kerry/Edwards are possessed of a lying spirit, why cannot you see that George W. Bush and "CFR" Cheney are possessed of the same lying spirit. How much wickedness must Bush perpetrate before you realize that either his profession of faith is false, or he has given-in to the forces of darkness? Below I have pasted an e-mail I sent to Lou Sheldon and the TVC. In a separate e-mail I will send you the documentation for the charges I made therein. Flip, George W. Bush will destroy America as surely as Kerry. Please alert your followers of these charges and let them know that there is a truly Godly Presidential/Vice Presidential team in Michael Peroutka and Dr. Chuck Baldwin. I know you cannot endorse anyone, but PLEASE let people know.

Concerning the quotes from the article "Rev. Sheldon quoted on President Bush" http://www.traditionalvalues.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=1864: Rev. Sheldon is quoted as saying, "He [President Bush] has proven himself." Indeed, he HAS proven himself. He has proven himself to be a liar, a fraud and a false believer.

Lou Sheldon said President Bush, "supports a constitutional amendment (banning gay marriage)." He also: has appointed more open homosexuals to positions in government than all the presidents before him, combined.

gives his support to pro-abort, pro-sodomite Arlen Specter of Penn. instead of the conservative, pro-life candidate, knowing full well that Specter is in line for the chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Bush can then nominate all the pro-life judges he wants without fear that they will be confirmed.

says that if the states want to institute civil unions, it is "FINE."

has written a congratulatory letter to the Metropolitan Community Church (founded by a sodomite and sodomite dominated) telling them what a blessing they are to America .

Bush has the glowing praise of the sodomite Log Cabin Republicans and is praised in the Washington Blade.

Lou Sheldon said President Bush, "signed a law banning partial birth abortion." He also: says that America is not ready for the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

thinks it is alright to murder 15 - 20,000 little unborn children whose fathers happen to be rapists.

had his Justice Dept. file a "friend of the court" brief to keep pro-lifers OFF the street in Wichita, KS. (I know. I was there.)

has signed increases in Planned Parenthood funding every year in office (an organization that murders little unborn children, protects child molesters & pedophiles, promotes perversion of all sorts and lies through its teeth about most everything). Under G.W. the amount of federal money they receive has gone from $187 million to $254 million.

has signed the bill that provided for the largest amount of funding for international abortion in the history of this country.

Bush throws a "bone" to fellow Republicans and conservative Christians every so often - but they are typically meaningless. The Partial Birth Abortion Ban is a good example. Bush knows that such a ban will not save the life of ONE precious child. The doctor will just use another of 3 or 4 even more gruesome methods. He also knows that the ban will be tied up in court for YEARS and will not cost him too many votes.

Another is the Unborn Victims of Violence Act. This act does NOTHING to decrease abortion and actually further cements abortion into our legal system by specifically EXEMPTING little babies whose mothers want to kill them.

Bush has no intention to end abortion in America (he could have done so already, if he wanted to); and your support for him actually puts you in the pro-abortion camp because abortion will continue as long as we have men like him in office.

Lou Sheldon said President Bush, "supports abstinence education." He also: favors and has signed funding for sex education and condom distribution.

Lou Sheldon said, "He lowered taxes." He also: has expanded EVERY part of the federal bureaucracy that he said he would reduce.

has given us the biggest budget deficits in U.S. history.

has promised everything to everyone in a despicable effort to pander to voters.

Lou Sheldon said, "He's our friend." Is a friend one who: increases our control by and dependence on the U.N., while mouthing platitudes to the contrary?

belongs to the same secret societies and internationalist organizations as his opponent?

appointed William Pryor to a federal judgeship by recess appointment - as a reward for his prosecution of former Chief Justice Roy Moore (Pryor says that his faith will have no bearing on his job as judge)?

supported Arnold Schwarzenegger in California 's special election - a man who has just signed two hate crimes bills and stands against almost everything that Christians believe?

has greatly increased funding for the unconstitutional and often blasphemous Endowment for the Arts?

has said that Muslims worship the SAME God that we, as Christians, do; and has invited them into the White House for PRAYER?

has pushed through the U.S. Patriot Act - one of the worst usurpations of Americans' basic rights in the history of this country?

has poked the nose of the Federal Government ever deeper into the family with his "no child left behind' legislation?

wants to require "mental health" testing for all American citizens - including school children (Gulag, anyone?)?

For a Christian to support a man like George W. Bush is to sin against God. God may well place Bush is office again, but it will NOT be for blessing - it will be for judgment!

The Scriptures say that men who place themselves in the position of being teachers come under stricter judgment. By his actions and comments, Lou Sheldon is one of three things: 1. Ignorant, 2. Willfully ignorant, or 3. Wicked.

If he is ignorant, this e-mail should be sufficient to remedy that shortfall. If he is willfully ignorant, I would call on him to repent of his faithlessness; because he obviously fears man more than he fears God. He must have forgotten that God tells us in Daniel 2:21 that He "changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings... ." God also asks in Isaiah 50:2, "Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness.... " If he is wicked, then this e-mail is probably in vain.

Jonathan,

I hear you brother. I have been hearing you for a while and been paying close attention to your thinking. President Bush is not possessed by a “lying spirit” though the devil can, at times, speak through him. The devil spoke through Peter's mouth and, if you are honest, you will admit that his lies have even poured through your mouth. All of us Jonathan, have had to have our theology corrected by the Lord as we have grown in Him.

I used to believe that abortion was OK. Most of us in the United Methodist seminary I attended (Asbury Theological Seminary ‘76-‘80) believed it was a difficult, but sometimes necessary decision. We were wrong, no question. But were we lying or were we inhabited by a “lying spirit? No!

I was a “born-again” Christian. Christ had saved me from my sin, yet I was in theological and biblical error concerning my stance on abortion. Therefore, according to Jonathan Martin, I must either be lying about what the Bible clearly says (and it is very clear concerning the issue of the shedding of innocent blood) or I must not have been a true Christian. There is a logical fallacy in your thinking - you are allowing only two choices. One is either a liar about what God is clearly saying about abortion or he is not saved. May I suggest that your reducing this argument to only two choices (logical fallacy #13) will lead to error, bitterness, and an impossibility to rightly discern the TRUTH.

My suggestion to you brother is to allow another possibility concerning George W. Bush. He is wrong! He is not inhabited by a “lying spirit.” He is a born-again Christian. But he is absolutely wrong concerning almost every issue you have defined in your e-mail.

When he lived in Dallas, George W. Bush taught Sunday School at Highland Park United Methodist Church. It is the church home to Perkins Theological Seminary, one of the most apostate seminaries on the face of the earth. Several notorious abortionists attended church there. We beseeched the pastor to remove these abortionists from his church. We pleaded with him to not lend legitimacy to the horror of child-sacrifice. I left him a copy of the “Hard Truth.” It was all to no avail. He believed, along with most of the hierarchy of the United Methodist Church that abortion was a good thing, that one can practice homosexuality and be a Christian at the same time, and that Islam and Christianity worship the same God. I will say that a “lying spirit” has absolutely infested the leadership in the United Methodist Church. Indeed, God has turned them over to a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie (2 Thessalonians 2:11 ).

We have confronted this “church” on a number of occasions with the very graphic truth (signs and all) that abortion is murder, homosexuality is a sin, and that Islam is a lie. We have publicly exposed the abortionists that go to this church. We have done it on Sunday mornings on the public sidewalks outside the doors. The awful theology of this church, once George W. Bush's home church, is stultifying and murderous. We began our campaign in the fall of 1992. George W. Bush was teaching Sunday School at the time. He had recently given his heart to Christ and this was the kind of teaching and preaching he was being raised on. How can we expect him to rise above the “lying” shepherds and the lying pen of the scribes in the United Methodist Church that are handling the Word of God falsely? How do we expect him to know all that you and I know?

Am I making excuses for him? No. But it is important for you to understand some things before you make this kind of a judgment. Judge you must, but let it be made with knowledge and understanding! He is a born-again Christian. He is not inhabited by a “lying spirit” as are Mr. Kerry and Mr. Edwards. He is simply wrong about the items you have so articulately put together. He loves the Lord and, I pray, is open to hear Truth.

One other thing, Jonathan. Those in his own denomination (United Methodist) are deserting him in droves. They cannot tolerate his position on abortion, as wrong and as weak as it is to you and I.

George W. Bush is a born-again Christian who is not lying about the three most important issues (abortion, homosexuality, and Islam) facing our nation today. He simply does not see them for what they are. They are Gospel issues that will never be resolved politically, nor will they be resolved technologically, nor will they be resolved financially, nor will they be resolved educationally, nor will they be resolved compassionately. They will only be resolved when we as a nation, led by our President, call upon the Name of the Lord (Jesus) and beseech Him to forgive us for the slaughter of His innocent children, to forgive us for making homosexuality a constitutional right, and forgive us for allowing other “gods” to be elevated to the same status that is reserved only for Jesus Christ. It is then that He will hear our prayer, forgive our sin, and heal our land.

I believe that God is showing us the state of His Church in America through President Bush. We love Jesus, but we have made Him out to be a God of personal salvation only. One who is not concerned with discipling nations, only saving individual souls, One who dispenses mercy without repentance, and One who can be kept quiet so as not to appear too intolerant and divisive. This theology comes from pulpits in every city in America . How can we expect President Bush to know anything other than what he has been taught!

We will serve the kingdom we see ( John 5:19 -20), and we will become like the God we worship (Psalm 115:8). It is my prayer Jonathan that George W. Bush will grow to see the battle that is raging for the heart and soul of our nation and fight it by the blood of the lamb, the word of his testimony, not loving his own life so much as to shrink from death.

Oh, in case you are wondering, I am voting for Michael Peroutka and Chuck Baldwin.
