Christians Respond to Flip about Phil Donahue Show

Christians Respond to Flip about the Phil Donahue Show

Below are email responses from Flip's appearance on Phil Donahue, Dec.17, 2002. We want to share them with you as encouragement. We believe it is imperative that we speak boldly, clearly, and precisely the words of Jesus to this lost and dying generation. Make no mistake - it is a hostile time to preach the Gospel! Please, preach it with everything you've got! Jesus will help you!

Dear Reverend
Thank you for speaking out for the Gospel last night on the Donahue show. It sure was a rough forum to get a word in against all the chaotic beliefs and comments that took precedent. I appreciate your dedication to our Lord Jesus and your fight to speak the Truth. What a mess that was on the show..... We know that the Holy Spirit can penetrate through all that and get right to the hearts that are open to receiving. I pray, as a Pastor's wife, that these would be saved who are in such error and are laughing in the face of God. If our hearts grieve for those who spoke like they did last night, just think of how God must feel.... it's a shame. Again, thanks for speaking out and shedding light in the darkness. With Joy in Him - Janet Manno

Thank you Rev. Benham,
for having the courage to stand up for the faith. Too often, organized church bodies seem to have softened their doctrine for the sake of 'evangelism". As a lifelong Lutheran, I am thankful that there are still people such as you willing to take the stand for Christ.

Yours in Christ,
Duane Stenzel

Dear Reverend Benham;
My name is Kevin Wetzel, fellow Christian. I wanted to say thank you for presenting the truth of the gospel on the Donahue program to weak Christians and persistent errorists. Hopefully some, through the Truth will come to Christ or back to Christ.

I can only pray that God has not hardened their hearts like he did with Pharaoh and Herod. The show was the first time I ever heard your name or saw you. Your words, and like my pastor's (through the Gospel), put rebarb in my concrete when I fear the ridicule of God's message from those who do not believe.

Again thank you.

Sincerely
Kevin Wetzel

Rev. Flip,
Thank you for being a light in the darkness tonight on Donahue. You presented the Gospel brilliantly in the short time you had.

This is the first I have heard Flip speak.
Amen brother, well done.

Rev. Benham,

Thank you for your resolve in maintaining a loving and non-judgmental presence during the Donahue circus. Also, in keeping the focus on the fact that God is the only one to judge man, we are simply to try to obey His commands, given in Scripture which is God-breathed. I commend you and Dr. Mohler and Dr. Brown for not stooping to the bullying tactics of Phil and the rabbi.

However, the most disturbing thing to me was the cavalier attitude toward the Scripture as displayed by Dr. Hough. I will be wary of anything associated with Union Theological Seminary from this day forward.

Thank you and God Bless You,

Craig Taylor
