Shocking Statement Issued by the Associate Judges

Shocking Statement Issued by the Associate Judges

By Kristene O’Dell

Flip has been phoning in what is taking place in Montgomery, Alabama. This article is based upon his thoughts of what is taking place in our nation. God bless you for your faithfulness to Him. Keep storming the gates!

This statement was issued at 2:03pm on August 26, 2003, by the 8 Associate Justices that have taken over for Judge Moore. The Associate Justices submit their Motion and Brief not withstanding the belief of many, if not all of them, that it is constitutional for public officials to acknowledge God in public spaces and to display the Ten Commandments in courthouses. They all believe themselves bound, however, by a final judgment and injunction issued by a federal court that has not been stayed…The Associate Justices believe themselves to be bound by that injunction not withstanding their personal beliefs.

Did you get it? This is what it says – Although Judge Moore has committed no crime, and we cannot find any legal reason why he cannot display this monument, and we are in agreement with him, we are bound by this fabricated ruling of Judge Myron Thompson. Think that’s shocking, let’s look at the bigger picture.

There is a pastor in Tennessee who took several busloads of people down to Montgomery. He hosts a local radio program. On his return, he had people calling in discussing if “civil disobedience” is appropriate in this instance. His stand was we should not physically intervene if they begin to move this monument. Uhm, taking a stand does not mean stand there and watch.

On a national talk show, the live audience was overwhelmingly in favor of Judge Moore and the Ten Commandments. If there were those that disagreed, they did not speak up. They clapped and cheered for Judge Moore and then moved onto the next subject. I doubt one of those people made it to Montgomery.

Wait a minute, it gets worse. On any given Sunday, there are pastors in pulpits across America who preach against the evils of abortion. Convictions are stirred and we feel pretty good before the Lord that we can call ourselves pro-life. Yet, on most Saturday mornings abortion clinics are open for business all around the nation. There may be a few people there to offer hope to abortion minded mothers. In many cases there is no one. I wonder what it means to be pro-life in God’s eyes?

The list could go on. This statement by the justices exposes something. It exposes the very heart of this nation before a holy God. We cannot be offended at the moral cowardice of these justices without recognizing it in ourselves. The Church in America has lost her moral bearings. We have listened to the lies of the enemy and have been ensnared. We have been subdued by our own sense of personal peace and the blessings that God has bestowed upon us as a nation. Where are the great men of God like Daniel who could not deny the Lord even though an unrighteous law was fabricated against him? Where are those with hearts like Peter who understand to follow in the footsteps of Jesus means suffering and submitting even unto death?

Please understand that we do not advocate civil disobedience nor do we want to engage in a fight for our first amendment rights. We are saying, however, that we have a duty before God to walk in Biblical obedience. As Christians we cannot make peace with a world system that hates God and His Law. As Christians we are called to submit to God and his Word at all times. Not just when it is doesn’t cost us something.

The enemy has come in like a flood. Our nation is hanging in the balance. The Church of the Living God must rise up and honor her Lord and King with everything that she is, knowing that she is not her own, she has been bought with a price. We need men of God to rise up and point this nation back to her heritage. A heritage when men were willing to give everything, even life itself, to make this nation great. A heritage founded upon the very Law of God when there was “No King, but King Jesus.”

Pat Robertson, Richard Land, and Jay Sekulow should not be excused from their moral failure to spur the Church on to Biblical obedience. Each have stated their disdain for what they call “civil disobedience.” Their words sound so much like the words OSA has heard over the years. I am tired of well meaning Christians attempting to take the wind out of my sail as I seek to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. I am tired of people telling me how much they love me while they attempt to get me to settle in a pew and not be “so radical.”

I want to love God’s Word like it is my very breath. I want to honor my Lord in thought, word, and deed. I want to see our government once again acknowledge the Law of God as her standard so that my children can live in the liberty that this nation was founded upon. I want to follow in the footsteps of the great cloud of witnesses that spur us on to run the race marked out for us.

Where are the men who are going to lead us out in true Biblical submission by resisting what is evil? We need them in every arena. Only congress can make law. We need passionate men in Congress to step up and tell these federal judges to stop taking authority that is not theirs to take. It is only the Church of Jesus Christ that is ordained to come against the enemy ravaging our land. We need mighty men of God to take the authority Christ has given and sound a wake up call to a Church that is sleeping.

God has raised up a man in this hour to show us what true Biblical submission looks like. His name is Judge Roy Moore. Let us not just sit and quietly cheer Judge Moore on. Let us follow his example, pick up our cross, and follow our Lord Jesus even unto death. I can hear the great cloud of witnesses calling each of us by name. I can sense the mighty warring angels ready to attack as the Church rises up and takes her place at the gates. I can see the Lord’s hand stretched out as He assures us He will bring us all the way through. Now is the time, Church! We can do this! This is what we have been saved for!

“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.” 1 Peter 4:1-2
