Stolen Lives By Brittany Graham, Age 10 Webmaster's Note from Patte Smith: "This was written by a dear little homeschooler. This is a girl who understands the heart of the matter. She handed me this essay to me after she spent the morning praying with us outside the Orlando Women's Center on Resurrection Saturday with her family." How would you like it if you had never gotten the chance to see flowers, feel a hug, see your parents, or have friends? Millions of people in America have missed out on these opportunities. What has caused this terrible tragedy? One word -- abortion. An abortion is the killing of a baby inside of you. Why would you want to kill your baby? Babies are cute, soft, cuddly and sweet. Babies are not expensive. And they do not take up too much time. And they are part of the best plan for your life, because if they werent God wouldnt have given you this special treasure. It is a joy to have children. You get to raise them, play with them, plan birthday parties for them. They are there to help you if you fall down, if you are sick, or if you need help carrying something. The Bible clearly shows us that God made babies in their mothers womb. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mothers womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to me." (Psalms 139:13 -16) Most people wont tell you to kill your baby. They will tell you to abort your fetus. Its the same thing! Abortion is just another word for killing and fetus is another word for baby. Changing the words doesnt make a difference. Its still a dead baby. We may know abortion is wrong, but there are many who dont. What does God say we should do? "Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, 'But we knew nothing about this,' does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guard your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?" (Proverbs 24:11 -12) What are you going to do?
