36th Memorial of Roe v. Wade

Local pastors, business leaders, crisis pregnancy center directors, and Christians will join Operation Save America for a press conference and a Memorial Service, mourning 36 years of unabated child-killing.  Their purpose: to end child-killing in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina, by bringing the theology of the church house into the streets – right to the doors of the three local abortion mills in this city!

It has been 36 years since that day of infamy on January 22, 1973, when our Supreme Court unleashed the floodgates of hell and murder upon this nation.  For 36 years the Church of Jesus Christ has sat silently by and tolerated a lie that is destroying our nation.  We have said, “Abortion is wrong, but it is not my calling.”  Today, over 50 million children are dead.  NO MORE!

NO MORE, will we sit passively by while little children die.  NO MORE, will we wait for the President, the Congress, the Supreme Court, or the Republican Party to save the lives of unborn children.  NO MORE, will we peacefully coexist with child-killing in our city!   WE ARE AT WAR!      

“Abortion will come to an end in Charlotte, when the Church of Jesus Christ makes up her mind it will come to an end – not one second sooner,” said Rev Flip Benham, National Director of Operation Save America.  “The responsibility for ending abortion in the city of Charlotte and in America rests squarely upon the shoulders of the Church of Jesus Christ.”

Aborted States of AmericaCharlotte , NC - Since October 27, 2008, the day we began to have a continual presence at two of the three abortion mills in Charlotte, sixty-one babies were confirmed saved by December 31, 2008.  This has never happened before in our city.  We are not counting “turn-aways,” but sixty-one mothers who chose life for their children because someone simply showed up at the gates of hell. That is a little over one baby saved every day the abortion mill doors were opened.  When the theology of the church house becomes biography at the gates of hell, we give God an excuse to show up and show off.

One hundred and sixty-one babies have been saved this past year (2008) as a result of the faithful Christian witness at our local gates of hell.  Many folks played a vital role in this powerful ministry by pillaging Satan’s strongholds, and truly taking back that which he stole from us.

 Now let us pray that there will not be a 37th Memorial of Roe v. Wade, remembering that an “Ounce of obedience is worth a pound of prayer.”

OSA CT December 2008Since 1990 the saints in Connecticut have been allowing the theology of the church house to become biography in the streets of their city and 1,869 babies have been saved as a result of their obedience to Almighty God.  Three hundred and seventy people have given their hearts to Christ because this faithful remnant has allowed the Word of God to become flesh at the “gates of hell.”  In 2008, 163 babies have been saved.  Indeed, an ounce of obedience is worth a pound of prayer.

A good friend of ours and a better friend of Jesus and His preborn children put this little 10 minute video together.  His name is Brian Cranford.  Many of you have met him, his wife Sarah, and his family at our National Events.  His little son Nolan (five years old) likes to play the guitar and help lead us in praise and worship.  The Cranford’s are always, as a family, out in the streets somewhere stirring up the crowd in the Name of Jesus!

When dedicating the recently finished temple in Jerusalem, King Solomon queried of God, “But will God really dwell on earth?  The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you.  How much less this temple I have built.”  I Kings 8:27.  King Solomon was in awe that the God of heaven and earth would desire to dwell with us.  The answer to Solomon’s question was expressed most perfectly and eloquently in John 1:14, “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.  We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and only, who has come from the Father, full of grace and truth.” 

Christmas brings those of us who claim Christ back to this simple yet magnificent thought.  The Word became flesh.  Theology became biography.  God is with us.  We are not alone.  No matter how dire our circumstances, how far we have fallen, how deep the pit – Jesus is deeper still.  He is the greatest gift ever given, and millions, throughout the ages of history, testify to this truth. 

He did more for me in one divine moment than the psychiatrists could do in a bazillion hours of counseling.  I couldn’t be fixed, yet He fixed me.  I couldn’t be free from the guilt of my past, yet He liberated me.  He set me free from my sin and from my naturally selfish self.  No amount of money, no amount of education, no amount of fame, no amount of technology, no amount of anything, could do this.  I find myself saying only this, “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”  2 Corinthians 9:15.

Dr. Pat McEwen sent me this article that was written in 1984 about celebrating Christmas.  I believe you will find it very funny, very liberating, and biblically profound.  This is a very special gift given to all of us who have to deal with precious people who take great pains with their theological “jots and tittles” and then give them (pains) to everyone else.  These people have a way of draining all the joy found in Christ within us until we become as joyless and wrinkled as they.  I am referring to those VDP’s (very draining people) who, however unknowingly, have become handmaidens of the devil to distract us from following hard after Christ.  I believe you will find James B. Jordan, the author of this article, a VIP (Very Inspirational Person).

We have been having an ongoing conversation about celebrating “Christmas” for the past several years here in North Carolina.  As one might expect, the conversations become a bit more rancorous as positions have been deeply established and fortified with all sorts of grandiose arguments.  One side convinced that the other is doomed to eternal damnation if their position is not repented of.  Enjoy the conversation or should I say, argument. 

The last writer, Doug Huband (a friend of mine and sometimes theological adversary) has written brilliantly about this issue.  Note:  Romans 14 gives us four very specific criteria for dealing with “disputable matters.”  See if you can find them?

2nd Note:  Tim Hanline is also a very good friend of mine.  I had the privilege of baptizing him after he had given his heart to Christ.  Jesus saved him out of a cult but, unfortunately, Tim is walking right back into his old legalistic ways and is no longer walking in the light of Christ.  He and his girls have been to our Church on two occasions to protest the celebration of Christmas.

We all love Tim and his family.  They are, however, in error.

Enclosed please find your Bible Reading Schedule for 2009.  If you desire the theology of the church house to become biography in the streets of America during this tumultuous time, it will be the result of the Word of God first becoming flesh in you and me.  Literally thousands of precious Christians have joined us on this yearly journey through God’s Word since 1984.  It wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring one of the great preachers and teachers of the Bible along with you.  Matthew Henry’s Commentary was one that our Founding Father’s truly revered.  Buy an abridged edition.  It can be found in any Christian Bookstore.  We pray you and your family will be encouraged to read through the Bible with us this coming year.

OSA - CT Dec 2008The saints in Bridgeport have seen at least 160 babies saved this year as they have faithfully stormed that gates of hell (local abortion mills in Bridgeport and New Haven).  Since 1990 there have been 1,860 babies saved and over 340 people who have given their hearts to Christ.  It was a great thrill to join with them in their daily and very hectic activities of allowing the theology of the church house to become biography in the streets.  Isn’t this what Christmas is all about?  “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us…” John 1:14.
