Trish Was Right Again

June 28, 2004

Trish Was Right Again

Trish was right again.

A month ago I bought some nice used tennis shoes at a garage sale. Preferring laces to the velcro straps that had been sown on, I cut the velcro off, bought some laces and was happy. Trish told me when I went for the laces, "You can wear them in jail if you leave the velcro on."

Seven-year-old Jimmy and I attended the Constitution Party National Convention last week in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Rescuers attending such conventions find the local abortion centers and take a morning to go and minister on the streets outside of them. We did that last Friday in West Chester. There were about twelve of us outside of Planned Parenthood when the first two moms entered to kill. After they rejected offers of help, I led the singing. Little Jimmy requested, "Jesus Loves the Little Children." Trusting Jesus to use our praise to destroy the works of the devil, we sang heartily unto the Lord. After finishing "All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name," and "Just as I Am," a city policeman drove up. He begins to hoot on us because people are calling in and complaining about us being out there, and especially the singing. We respectfully responded to him despite his cowboy attitude and demands that I stop singing on a public sidewalk. After his intimidation failed and he was walking away, we started singing again, facing away from him and toward the door to the pit of death. One minute later I was cuffed and stuffed. I told Jimmy to stick with two of his heroes there, Missionary Steve Lefemine and Missionary Mark Gabriel.

I was booked at the police station and put in an empty cell for about an hour before being put back in cuffs and also leg chains for transport to court. The officer who took me to court asked, "So you're the singer, huh? What's the matter, were you out of tune or something?"

"Guilty! You got me on that one, but I'm not guilty of disorderly conduct," I chuckled with him.

The judge was sitting casually in a golf shirt and asked how I wished to plead. I responded, "Not guilty. I'll retain counsel. And, I'll have a jury trial."

He said that I couldn't have a jury trial and asked me if I had completed high school. He agreed to let me go without posting money for a bond because I told him I'd plan to come back for the trial next month. No, he didn't take me up on my invitation to come to the convention that night and hear a great speech by our Presidential candidate.

Our presence at the mill helped greatly! The local pro-lifers said that they were usually full, but only three moms entered through the growing crowd of sign holders and singers out there.

A few friends brought Jimmy and were sitting in the court room with me. It was the first time Jimmy has seen his father in leg chains. I can imagine what they'll do to him later if this nation keeps murdering children and criminalizing peaceful speech. My prayer in jail was that I would be a good soldier for Jesus, a good role model for my children, and a good American. I thought of Trish's advice and laughed while putting the laces back in my shoes after all the chains came off.

Please pray that I will be a faithful witness at the trial and for God's will to be done. If you live near the Philadelphia area and want to attend the trial, come on! Please call my cell phone (989-859-4482) to see if the time changes at the last minute. We will probably meet at 8:30 am. to pray and sing on the sidewalk before court.

The trial details are:
9:00 am.
July 28th
District Judge Mark A. Bruno
720A E. Market Street
Suite 130
West Chester, PA

When witnessing on public sidewalks and singing is "criminal" and "disorderly;" when ripping the arms and legs off of children is protected by law as "orderly;" then crushing judgment from Lord Jesus will soon destroy our once free nation. When churches get too busy to lift a finger to try to get rid of their local abortuaries, then the lack of fire in our hearts will be repaid with fire from the sky like was hurled down upon Sodom. And Sodom had no Bibles.

Our family is doing quite well. We leave tomorrow for a month of work in other states and some more pro-life ministry. Thanks for praying. Thanks for serving Jesus wherever He has placed you.

I am shouting GLORY all the way!
