April 20, 2000 What's Wrong with this Picture? By Patte Smith Bill HB 671 was just approved by a House Committee here in Florida. It requires that children 16 & under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to get tatooed. No parent, no tatoo. Tatoo parlors in Orlando and around the state just have to make sure putting a permanent mark on a kid's body is ok with the parents. Seems reasonable. They might get an infection or something, right? Abortionists here in Orlando don't have to make sure of any such thing. Little girls as young as 9 years of age can go through an abortion at 6 months of pregnancy without her parents consent. (Very convenient for child molesters, perpetrators of incest and older men who like to have sex with minor girls.) According to the abortion consent form at Orlando Women's Center abortion clinic (Orlando's second trimester abortion clinic) a little girl (or a woman) having an abortion takes the risk of: Uterine infection: can lead to hospitialization; hemorrhaging: may require transfusion; laceration (tearing) of the cervix: may necessitate surgical repair; perforation of uterus (creation of a hole by an instrument): may require immediate surgery, could result in removal of the uterus, fallopian tubes and/or bowel (intestines); injury to cervix, uterus, bladder and/or bowel, rectum, intestines, blood vessels and nerves; possible severe emotional distress, which may necessitate psychiatric care; possible inability to get pregnant or to carry a pregnancy to term; allergic reaction to anesthetic: convulstions, cardiac arrest, unconsciousness, death; increased in the risk of developing breast cancer; shock; myocardial infarction (Heart Attack); death Abortionists put little girls at risk of ALL THESE MEDICAL COMPLICATIONS WITH OR WITHOUT HER PARENT'S CONSENT. And with abortion, somebody always dies. What's wrong with this picture?
