What "dubia" Should Do

What "dubia" Should Do

On January 22, 1993, at 12:05 p.m. EST, Mike Warren, our rescue leader in Rochester, New York, was marching with thousands of other Christians in the March for Life in Washington, D.C. He had his radio to his ear when he heard the most startling news that caused his heart to sink. The newly inaugurated President of the United States of America, William Jefferson Clinton, in his very first act as President, had just signed four diabolical Executive Orders:

  1. He lifted the ban on federal funding of abortion on military bases around the world;
  2. He reversed the Reagan Mexico City Policy of not allowing federal funds to be used to finance abortion in foreign nations;
  3. He lifted the ban on the development of Mifepristone (RU 486); and
  4. He lifted the ban on fetal tissue research.

In one fell swoop, a president with only 43% of the popular vote blatantly displayed his utter disregard for God, His Word, and His children by signing these orders into law. He did it on the very day that Christians from across this nation had gathered in D.C. to mourn the deaths of millions of baby boys and girls slaughtered by abortion.

Do you think for one moment that he was concerned about how signing these Executive Orders would affect his presidency and his ability to govern a deeply divided nation? More than half the people voted against him. He had no national mandate, yet this fact did not hinder him at all. He wasn't looking for bipartisan support and the media didn't demand it of him either. Mr. Clinton understood the battle better than we do. He knew to whom he was beholden and he repaid them quickly and well. The demons in hell rejoiced and innocent blood flowed.

We are locked in a battle to the death. It is a battle over who is Lord and whose laws reign. Lives are depending upon us fighting this battle in the Name of Jesus Christ. The word bipartisanship that is being bandied about by the media is simply a word that is used to take the sword out of the Republican Party's hand. Remember the impeachment? Remember this election? Remember the media howling for Bush to reach out to the Democratic Party for bipartisan leadership? Baloney!

It is my fervent hope and prayer that George W. Bush will burn with the passionate fire of God, repent of the shedding of innocent blood, and desire to see justice done. I pray specifically that on January 22, 2001, at 12:05 p.m. EST, Mike Warren, who will again be marching with thousands of Christians in the March for Life in Washington D.C., will have his radio to his ear. I pray that he will hear the most startling news that will cause his heart to rise in joy. The newly inaugurated President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, in his very first act as President reversed the four executive orders Mr. Clinton signed and added two more:

  1. Ban again the federal funding of abortion on military bases around the world;
  2. Restore the Mexico City Policy and ban federal funding of abortions overseas;
  3. Ban the development and distribution of RU 486;
  4. Ban fetal tissue research;
  5. Ban partial birth abortion; and
  6. Cease all federal funding to Planned Parenthood if it kills or refers to kill one child.

One thing I have learned in my days of sharing Christ is that I must do it up front and not wait for a more appropriate time. President Bush must press hard immediately against the sin of shedding innocent blood and not wait for a more appropriate time. He should ask his fellow Democrats to work in a bipartisan spirit to end this holocaust of the shedding of innocent blood. Fat chance of that!

It will send a very powerful message to an enemy who has killed millions of children but is now talking about unity, peace, healing, and bipartisanship. It will send the message that he has been found out and that his days are numbered. Brothers and sisters there is no peace and we must not be conciliatory. No compromise!
