Dear Friends,

The following is a press release regarding recent incidents at Morris and Rebecca Wortman’s abortion clinic. Since late summer the Brighton authorities have been harrassing in regard to the use of signs and sound amplification. We have been blessing to have two lawyers helping us with our response; Ben Dupre’ with The Foundation of Moral Law Kevin Johnson a local attorney. Please keep us in prayer as we respond to the action of the town of Brighton.   Rev. Mike Warren

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FOUNDATION FOR MORAL LAW CALLS ON BRIGHTON, NY POLICE TO STOP HARASSING PRO-LIFE MINISTRIES OUTSIDE ABORTION CLINIC

MONTGOMERY, AL — The Foundation for Moral Law sent a letter to the Town of Brighton in western New York yesterday, demanding that the Brighton police and officials stop interfering with pro-life ministry on the public sidewalks outside a local abortion clinic.  On behalf of Rev. Michael Warren and Gerald Crawford, both of Rescue Rochester, and Bound4Life Rochester, the Foundation told Brighton to “cease and desist” its unconstitutional pattern of targeting multiple pro-life activists in their ministry of prayer and sidewalk counseling.

Judge Roy Moore, President of the Foundation for Moral Law and the former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, noted that the Brighton police should be upholding the law: “Those who believe in abortion never cease to try to restrict any opposition to their anti-life agenda. The Brighton police should be upholding the law and the freedom of people to speak up for the God-given right to life rather than running interference for the abortionist.”

In the letter, the Foundation explains that Brighton police officers have been making unwarranted threats against Rev. Warren and Mr. Crawford for their lawful use of pro-life signs and amplification equipment outside the abortion clinic of Dr. Morris Wortman, at 2020 South Clinton Avenue in the Town of Brighton.  Additionally, as if to prove their anti-life bias, Brighton police in September ordered members of the pro-life prayer group Bound4Life Rochester to produce identifying information for simply praying silently on the public sidewalk outside the same clinic.

“Just as unborn children are targeted by the abortionist on the inside, Brighton police have made a habit of targeting pro-life ministry on the public streets outside the abortion mill,” said Foundation attorney Ben DuPré, who along with local New York attorney Kevin Johnson of Klafehn & Heise PLLC, signed the demand letter.  “However much Dr. Wortman and officials of Brighton may dislike Rescue Rochester’s and Bound4Life’s message or even mere presence, the Constitution does not permit the force of law to be used to harass and intimidate pro-life ministry in Brighton.”

Reverend Michael Warren of Rescue Rochester stated, “It is tragic that our judical and law enforcement institutions have been so blinded by the bloodguilt of over 50 million children killed by abortion that they are determined to silence a ministry that offers the one safe choice available to abortion minded women. It’s unfortunate that The Brighton Police Department finds itself co-opted by the pro-abortion political machine. By the grace of God we will continue to be a voice for the voiceless at Rochester area abortion mills.”

The letter concluded by demanding from the Town of Brighton written assurances by November 21, 2011, that pro-life speakers will be allowed to freely engage in the expression of their protected speech on the public sidewalks near and adjacent to Dr. Wortman’s abortion clinic.

The Foundation for Moral Law, a national non-profit legal organization located in Montgomery, Alabama, is dedicated to restoring the knowledge of God in law and government through litigation and education relating to moral issues and religious liberty cases.

Here is Rusty’s report on the progress of our court case against the city of Jackson Wyoming.  Pastor flew to Cheyenne, Wyoming, to be present at the hearing.   ~ Flip

Dear Champion of the Lord and the Preborn,

Pastor and I had the blessing to be at the Wyoming Supreme Court with our wonderful attorney, Jack Edwards. He did a masterful job defending our rights, while dismantling the city of Jackson’s case against us.

It is amazing to consider that Operation Save America did a regional event in Jackson, WY and six months later it is still reverberating throughout this state. It continues to be front page news.

The city of Jackson was so concerned about this case going before the Wyoming Surpeme Court, they sent the top five leaders of their city to observe it. The mayor, city manger, city attorney who argued their case, and LT. Guillam who sought the TRO/injunction against us were present in the court room. Apparently, they are deeply concerned about the outcome of this case. They are either frightened by a lawsuit or intend to use it again to censor the Gospel light that shines upon the darkness of child-killing tolerated in their city.

As most of you know WY is one of the five states that makes up the States of Refuge campaign. Please continue to pray for this vision and mission. We will be going back to Wyoming and it would be a great blessing to see this TRo/injunction defeated in Jesus’ name!

Wyoming Supreme Court Considers Abortion Case

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) – The town of Jackson violated anti-abortion protesters’ rights when it secured a court order prohibiting them from appearing on the town square, a lawyer told the Wyoming Supreme Court on Thursday.

Laywer Jack Edwards, representing the anti-abortion group Operation Save America, argued that it was improper for the town to secure a court order barring activists from appearing within two blocks of the town square in May. The town didn’t notify protesters beforehand that it was seeking the order.

“There are many procedural errors,” Edwards told the court. “To not rule on this would create a blueprint for the squelching of protected speech in the future.”

Audrey Cohen-Davis, lawyer for the town, argued Thursday that it was proper for the town to secure the restraining order from District Judge Timothy Day.

Cohen-Davis said city police feared possible violence if the protesters, who previously had been showing graphic signs of aborted fetuses around Jackson, came together on the town square with about 200 Boy Scouts and their families who were gathering for an annual auction of elk antlers.

“Parents taking their Boy Scouts to the Elkfest event did not expect to have a group subjecting their children to such material,” Cohen-Davis said.

Police arrested two anti-abortion protesters at the event.

Operation Save America, a national group, said it had picked Jackson for its anti-abortion campaign in an effort to make Wyoming the first state in which no doctors would provide abortions. The group targeted Dr. Brent Blue, a family practitioner, whom the group said is the only doctor in the state to offer abortions.

Justice E. James Burke questioned Cohen-Davis closely about the town’s failure to notify Operation Save America before seeking the court order.

Burke noted that the U.S. Supreme Court has said there’s no place in the law for issuing restraining orders without notice that deprive people of their basic freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment unless there’s proof it was impossible to notify them and give them an opportunity to participate in the court hearing.

Cohen-Davis responded that she didn’t want Operation Save America protesters to know who she was. She said Jackson was in a very volatile situation when the protesters were in town.

“Isn’t our system sort of based on both sides having an opportunity to present their position to the court?” Burke asked.

Rusty Thomas of Waco, Texas, is assistant director of operations for Operation Save America. He and other members of the group attended Thursday’s court hearing in Cheyenne.

Speaking after the hearing, Thomas said the group had about 40 or 50 protesters in Jackson for five or six days in May. “We felt it was our duty as Christians to make that challenge,” he said.

Thomas said his group was in close contact with Jackson law enforcement during the protest, but received no advance notice the town was going to court to block its demonstration. “They did not make any attempts to tell us,” he said. “We were set up.”

Thomas said the group wants the Wyoming Supreme Court to issue an order saying what the town did was wrong. “What happens when we go back? And we do intend to go back,” Thomas said. “Are they going to pull this out and go after us in the future?”

The court took the case under advisement and will issue a written decision later.

Our witness in Jackson, Wyoming, as we brought the Gospel of Christ to the state’s only remaining abortionist and abortion mill, is still front page news in Jackson.  Can you imagine simple little Christians living out their faith in the streets of a city could create such a news story?  Well, yes if Almighty God is in it!   Enjoy and here is the link!      ~ Flip

The saints in Denver are having a huge impact for Jesus on everything that goes on in that city.  As a result, the devil is pushing back with all his might.  Too bad for him that his tiny little gates cannot prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ.  The city of Denver is now bringing out its great big “howitzers” to destroy Ken and Jo in legal shenanigans, both federal and state.  Little does Denver know that what the devil intends for evil, God will work for the good to bring about the salvation of many (Genesis 50:20). Enjoy!   ~ Flip

Hello All,

Here is an update on our Appeal from the Injunction to stay away from St. John’s Episcopal Church the largest Cathedral in Denver, which ordained a woman Priest on the Board of Planned Parenthood.  The Church supports abortion and the late term Abortionist Warren Hern and has a choir that is filed with homosexuals.  We have preached to men carrying purses to church and tell them to carry a Bible instead and read the Bible about Roman’s chapter

1.  During the Operation Save America event here in 2005 the Denver Police enforce this Injunction on all protester to stay away from the church.  We will have an Answer Brief by our Attorney Rebecca Messall in responds in 30 days, before going again to the Appeals Court then up to Colorado Supreme Court and then to the Supreme Court of the U.S. Please pray for her and Attorney Thomas Brejcha of the Thomas More Society that is helping with the costs, See our Opening Brief first.  We couldn’t go to the U.S. Supreme before, because it was Remanded back to the District Court to reduce the Injunction size, which it didn’t do much, so we have to fight it another time around.

***See the last Attached Exhibit, “The Dark Side of Music at St. John’s Cathedral“, we were denied the right to picket near the church when the Homosexuals had the All Denver Gay Men’s Choir event at the church, because it was considered still a church event on the night of Friday, April the 13th, 2007.  They openly mocked God.

We will have an update on our FACE Case with the U.S. Government on the sidewalk driveway area entrance of Planned Parenthood abortion mill, in the near future.

We are praying for the Pro-lifers in Miss. to get the Personhood Amendment passed on Nov. 8th, to shack this nation and Planned Parenthood.

God Bless!!!  Ken and Jo

Here are the documents from the case:

The folks for Personhood Mississippi are on the move.  With the Gubernatorial candidates from both parties signing on to it, it appear that Mississippi might be the first state in our Union to move into law that a child is a person, no matter how small.  ~ Flip

“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.” — I Kings 18:21

Friends of Personhood,

Nov 8 will be a day of choosing for Mississippi (and by extension, the whole nation) like none other in our history. One one hand, we will be answering one very simple question:

 Does life begin at conception?

That is the ONLY thing that will be on the ballot. Not all these side issues and distractions.

However, on the other hand, we will also be voting on who we are. Who & what we will believe. Will we believe God, science, and common sense or will we continue to believe the Planned Parenthood worldview?

The starkness of this choice is set forth very clearly in a letter I received from Dr John Adams who is a medical doctor and a pastor.

Below is the initial draft of the letter. It is so powerful and timely, that I wanted to share it with you as originally sent. It is aimed at pastors, but it needs to be read by every Mississippi voter – particularly those who claim the Name of Christ.

If you have mid week services tonight, please print and share with your pastor and every member of your congregation. And, please forward to every pastor and Christian you know.

Dear Pastor,

I am writing to urge you to take this possibly once in a lifetime opportunity to stand in the gap for the weakest and most vulnerable members of our society. On November 8, 2011 the voters of Mississippi will cast their ballots on Amendment 26 giving unborn children the status of personhood from the moment of conception.

This amendment will make abortion illegal in Mississippi. I am asking as a physician concerned about the health of Mississippians and as a Christian concerned about their souls, that you put your support from the pulpit behind this amendment.

As you are well aware, as a pastor you carry a very high level of respect and influence with your congregation as well as a higher accountability to God. They look to you to point them in the direction to go in order to better reflect the image of Jesus Christ. As the lead figures in todays Church, pastors must speak boldly to move the people of God to action and out of apathy in a secular culture.

The voice of Christians will define this amendment as a thing that glorifies God and a defeat of the abomination that is the abortion industry.

If this amendment does not pass, it will not be due to the efforts of the godless but because of the apathy and complacency of professing Christians. Please help the members of your church family rise to the calling they profess. If you believe abortion is “just plain wrong”, then stopping it through the peaceful democratic process we have in this nation is “just plain right”.

You and your congregation have the freedom to vote yes or no. But please do not delude yourself or your congregation into draping a NO vote in a false facade of piety, patriotism, mercy, or freedom.

Make no mistake, regardless of the rhetoric before or after the vote, a YES vote is a vote AGAINST ABORTION. A NO vote is a vote FOR ABORTION.

The feeble attempts to pacify the conscience with the “I don’t agree with abortion, but … ________” or “I’m a Christian, but …________” line of logic rings hollow. If they vote NO, please encourage people to have the intellectual honesty to say, “I am ok with 1.5 million tiny helpless Americans being intentionally killed each year for the sake of convenience and economic advancement.

I do not believe life begins at conception and the the cost of a child frequently outweighs its intrinsic worth.”

Vote with your beliefs and convictions but at least be honest and consistent with what those beliefs and convictions are.

Please do not be deceived by the cruel and deceptive propaganda being distributed by organizations such as Mississippians for Healthy Families. This organization is heavily funded and supported by Planned Parenthood organizations from Florida, New York, New Jersey, Colorado, and California.

See Sec of State Documentation of where funding is coming from here:

As you know, Planned Parenthood is a billion dollar a year organization, the largest abortion provider in the United States, a vocal critic of abstinence education programs, and a strong proponent of liberal school sex education programs indoctrinating young minds with moral principles and lifestyles contrary to the Christian principles found in the Bible.

Is this really where you want to cast your support?

As a minister of the Gospel, please do not be deceived by the lies being promoted by the opponents of Amendment 26.

I understand that you may have several concerns about putting your unequivocal support behind this legislation. I will try to put those fears to rest.

First, you may be concerned about losing your 501 3C tax exempt status. This should not concern you. The fear of losing tax exemption is simply a scare tactic. As a pastor and a church you have a great deal of latitude in supporting political issues such as this. I can provide a copy of an ADF legal opinion to pastors regarding support of personhood initiatives.

In the end however, we are called to serve God and not Caesar.

If Jesus can bear the cross and all but one of the apostles endured a martyr’s death, do you

think any of them would have retreated at the threat of taxation? Fear, however is understandable but unnecessary in this instance.

“If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ.” -Martin Luther

The opponents of Amendment 26 have been spreading many deceptive lies about this legislation.

Amendment 26 will prosecute women who suffer a miscarriage: FALSE

Amendment 26 will outlaw contraceptives: FALSE

Amendment 26 will outlaw in vitro fertilization: FALSE

Amendment 26 will prevent a doctor from saving a woman’s life in the case of an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy: FALSE

Planned Parenthood has a history of deceiving ministers into supporting their agenda. Please do not fall prey to this manipulation. This sort of strategy has been used for over 70 years, ever since it was used to eradicate as many African American babies as possible.

“We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten that idea out if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” –Margaret Sanger (American Birth Control League, which later became the Planned Parenthood Federation of America): Dec. 10. 1939

Pastor I pray with all fervor that the Holy Spirit has given me the words to move your heart to stand up for righteousness.

Please resist the temptation to stay silent due to fear or uncertainty.

Please take up the full armor of God and be bold in word and action.

Please help in the effort to rid Mississippi of the horror of abortion and give the legal protection of personhood to the most vulnerable in our society.

Blessings,

Dr. John B. Adams

Personhood is on the move in the state of Ohio.  Men are unsheathing the Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God) to cut the throat of the abortion industry and render it dead, Dead, DEAD!  Thank God the state of Ohio has some Godly men who have not fallen into the devil’s deceitful trap of praising the “Ohio Heartbeat Law,” which may indeed save some babies but will never deal with the sinof abortion.  The ‘Ohio Heartbeat Beat Law” represents the same old tired and failed political strategy the pro-life movement has been initiating for the past thirty-nine years.

Incremental legislation is a failure because it always ends with the unwritten seven word caveat, “…and then you can kill the baby.”  It is a failure because it uses the devil’s means to accomplish God’s ends.  The devil is the ultimate incrementalist.  It is a failure because it never allows us to wield the Sword of the Spirit.  God’s powerful Word is left in its sheathe.  It is a failure because it always seeks compromise.  It is never a good idea to compromise God’s Word.  It is a failure because the devil himself would sign every piece of the incremental legislation we have come up with so far.

Yes, that includes the big three exception clauses (rape, incest, life of the mother).  It includes parental notification, the 24 hour waiting period, parental consent, fetal pain bill, partial birth abortion ban, infant born alive act, Ohio heartbeat law, ad nauseam.  All of these may save some babies, but they will never end abortion.  Even Dr. Dobson, a strong supporter of all this incremental legislation, admitted that, “…the Partial Birth Abortion Ban would not save one baby.”

None of these pieces of incremental legislation, no matter how well-intentioned, deal with the sin of abortion.  They are simply an attempt to regulate it so that a mother can still kill her baby, and feel good about it.  That’s right!  The upshot of all this feverish incremental legislation has resulted in mother’s feeling good about killing their own babies.  Unintended consequences anyone?

The one piece of  political legislation – the only legislation we will support and work hard to get passed – is that which allows us to unsheathe the Sword of the Spirit (God’s Word).  Personhood is that legislation.  It deals with the sin of abortion.  It stops all compromise – let God be true and every man a liar.  It elicits God’s Help – He promises to watch over His Word to perform it.  It spells and end to the devil’s deceitfulness – the Word of God exposes the lie.  It protects every child – no matter how small.  The gates of hell cannot prevail against this.

“Abortion will come to an end in America when the Church of Jesus Christ makes up her mind it will come to an end – and not one second sooner.”

Thank you Jesus for the Godly men in Ohio.  Pray for them.

In Christian love,

Flip

Everywhere we turn these days we are finding that the Obama Administration is ramping up efforts to remove the Gospel of Jesus Christ from the gates of hell, by calling it “violent hate speech.”   What better way to give evil free reign in our streets.  Here is just one more example of the insidious nature of our government’s desire to censor Christ at the very places where He is needed most.  God help us!  Click here to read this story via lifenews.com  ~ Flip

As can be seen by this report in the Charlotte Observer, our city is totally collapsing the First Amendment rights of its citizens with manufactured city ordinances and statutes.  These ordinances and statutes are conjured up, well beneath the radar of Christians in Charlotte, in the clandestine confines of Charlotte City Hall.

We never know what is legal from one day to the next because the law; well, “…it just keeps a changin.”  Preachers who bring the Gospel of Christ into the streets of Charlotte find their civil rights tossed to the ground as police keep informing us of new changes in city and county policy.  It is a way to keep us corralled and shut us up.  It is a way to silence the Gospel proclamation.

One of the most egregious ordinances conjured up by the Charlotte City Council is the city’s “sound ordinance.”  I was arrested for being in violation of this last Saturday afternoon.  Note: we always apply for sound permits as required by the city.  The “sound ordinance” reads that we are not to exceed 75 decibels recorded on a decibel meter when it is held ten feet in front our speakers.

This is so utterly ridiculous.  The ambient sound (street noise common in the general area) at Trade and Tryon streets registers between 65 – 90 decibels on the decibel meter.  The ambient sound in the city of Charlotte is in violation of this absurd noise ordinance.  But it sure does provide the city a circuitous way to control what can and cannot be spoken.  If one can control the volume of free speech, he can control the content of what can and cannot be heard.  How clever.

“We can do away with free speech without anyone knowing that is what we are doing.”

I have had to appear in court on several occasions for violating this city ordinance and never once have been found guilty.  Please understand what this means.  Even though I am acquitted, the city accomplished what it really desired.  It got me off the streets of Charlotte for the day.  Hmmmmmmm.

Why is it that the homosexual community in Charlotte can get sound permits for sound as loud as it wants while Christians are shackled with permits that allow them to speak no louder than 75 decibels?  Just so you know; many times a passing city bus registers over 100 decibels on a decibel meter when one stands ten feet away from it.

“The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men.”  Psalm 12:8.
