Storming the Gates of Hell in Wichita, Kansas
July 15-21, 2001

We pray that you are planning to join us in Wichita, Kansas, this summer, as the theology of the Church of Jesus Christ becomes biography once again in the streets of Wichita. It was ten years ago that thousands of Christians from across America converged in the heartland of our nation to bring the Gospel of Christ to the very gates of hell - the local abortion industry. That confrontation between heaven and hell during the "Summer of Mercy" in 1991 marked the beginning of a radical national decline (almost 40% across the board) in the number of abortions performed, number of abortion mills, and number of abortionists.

We have heard the call of God to return to Wichita and finish the work that was begun in 1991. The blood of over 40 million aborted children is crying out from the ground. We have heard the roar of the enemy telling us to stay home and be quiet! But we were called to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. We will not stay at home - we were born for a time such as this!

With our faces low to the ground and the Gospel of Christ in our hearts and upon our lips, we are going to Wichita, Kansas, knowing that the gates of hell cannot prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ. We will confront, with the love of Christ, one of the most horrific abortionists in our nation, George Tiller. We will bring our children (our arrows) with us so that they can see mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, pastor and layman living out their faith in the streets of this city. We will pass the cross of Christ into the hearts of the next generation. If you desire to place destiny in the hearts of your sons and daughters, bring them!

Nightly rallies, daily seminars, street activities, and service projects are all a part of allowing the theology of the church house to become biography in the streets. The greatest sermons ever preached, the greatest prayers ever prayed, the greatest songs ever sung were those that were preached, prayed, and sung at the gates of hell! Abortionist Quits Upon Hearing OSA Coming to Wichita

Kansas - In what is becoming an avalanche of abortion mill closures, and abortionists quitting the industry, it was announced today in the Lawrence World News, that Dr. Kristen Neuhaus will stop killing children in Wichita, Kansas. Neuhaus has, for several years, been a circuit-riding abortionist killing children in both Wichita and Lawrence. Neuhaus told The News that she made the decision to quit when she heard that Christians from around the nation will be gathering in Wichita this summer to proclaim the Gospel of Christ at the gates of hell (abortion mills). She wants no part of that!

"The wicked man flees though no one pursues…." Proverbs 28:1. Even before we arrive in Wichita, the hand of Almighty God is moving to push back His enemies. Just the news that Christians were rising up on behalf of the pre-born was all that Dr. Neuhaus needed to stop killing in Wichita.

"When the Church of Jesus Christ allows her theology to become biography in the streets of our cities, the battles are being won!" said Rev. Flip Benham, National Director of Operation Rescue and Operation Save America. "Nationwide, the number of doctors doing abortions has dropped 40% since 1991. The number of abortion mills and the number of abortions performed have also dropped almost 40%. "

"We don't have to wait for the President, the Congress, or the Supreme Court, to begin doing what's right for children waiting to be born," said Rev Benham. "We Christians have a responsibility to 'speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.' This is what we are doing in cities across our nation. This is why the battles are being won!"

The Gospel battle that began in Wichita during the summer of 1991 will begin anew during the summer of 2001. This time we finish it!

Abortions Down 40% Nationwide - Up 30% in Kansas

In almost every city and state we have surveyed recently, the number of abortions performed has radically declined. According to Mark Crutcher, Director of Life Dynamics, the number of abortions in America has declined nearly forty percent since 1991. This is commensurate with a 40% decline in the number of abortion mills and abortionists. Yes, the battle for the lives of little baby boys and girls waiting to be born is being won. Neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city, state by state, the battle is being won as the Church of Jesus Christ rises up and storms the gates of hell (the local abortion mills).

If this is true everywhere else, what is going on in the state of Kansas? According to an Associated Press report by Katrina Hull, there has been a 30% increase in the number of abortions in Kansas. Hull attributes this to the number of out of state folks coming to Kansas to kill their children. "Nearly half the women who had abortions in Kansas last year were from other states … and legislators cited George Tiller's Wichita clinic as the main reason."

"The statistics continue to show we are the abortion capital of the nation." said Representative Tony Powell, R-Wichita. "I think it's really sad." One of the reasons cited by the pro-life legislators for the 30% increase in abortions is George Tiller: "Tiller thrives because Kansas law allows doctors to perform late-term abortions to protect the mother's mental, as well as physical, health."

Even pro-abortion Senator Sandy Praeger, R-Lawrence, said: "Because of Dr. Tiller in Wichita, we do find people come from out of state. We have a doctor who is willing to risk his life. It's hard to find providers who provide late-term abortions and stick their necks out."

"Pro-life and pro-abortion legislators agree on one thing," said Rev. Flip Benham, National Director of Operation Rescue. "George Tiller is the reason for the huge increase in the number of abortions done in Kansas. It is in the face of this heinous crime being committed in the heart of our nation that we go with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Wichita! July 15-21 and beyond, Christians from across the nation will converge in the abortion capital of our nation to pronounce freedom for the captives. Theology will move from the church house to become biography in the streets of Wichita."

It is absolutely stunning, as we watch abortion mills in city after city being closed and abortionists quitting their grisly trade. The reason? Simple Christians like you and me living out their faith in the streets of their cities. Believing that upon our active repentance from the shedding of innocent blood of our Lord's precious pre-born children, He Himself will do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or imagine. He is simply looking for an excuse to act. Will you give Him one this summer?

Republican or Christian - Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve!

George W. Bush is proving again the pattern the Republican Party already established when it won the House and Senate in the 1994 congressional elections. You remember the Contract with America? The Party displayed lots of chutzpah when it came to fiscal policy but proved to have the spine of a banana when it came to the moral issues of our day.

Our Republican Congressmen in '94 told us to wait and trust them. They assured us that they would deal with the moral issues like abortion, the radical homosexual agenda, the failed education system, the family, etc., as soon as they accomplished their fiscal Contract. As a matter of fact, we were told to "Shut up!" about the moral issues because we were endangering their work on the Contract with America. We trusted them. We closed our mouths, and they failed us. They failed our Lord, His children, and our nation miserably!

They continued to fail us all the way through the impeachment and ultimate acquittal of a President whom they should have removed from office. "Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent - the Lord detests them both." Proverbs 17:15.

George W. Bush has been strongly conservative on his economic policies. He has fought hard for a tax cut. He is fighting well to establish a coherent energy policy. But he is failing miserably when it comes to taking on those issues for which the world and the devil are contending.

The Republican swoosh "big tent" does not have the spiritual or political will to stand against the devil and his murderous ideologues on the moral issues of the day. The Democrats march in lockstep for his policies. They will fight to the death for them because they are of their master, the devil. For the Republicans to attempt to fight this battle with anything other than the Word of God is utter foolishness. Republican and Conservative attempts to make bipartisan compromises with this enemy to appease him is exactly what Neville Chamberlain tried to do in appeasing Adolf Hitler. It won't work. How the devil must laugh - been there, done that!

Look at what ground our President has given to the enemy. President Bush's Chief of Staff recently announced that abortion was not a priority for this Republican President. I wonder if abortion is a priority in God's Kingdom? Alan Keyes, a spokesperson for the pre-born, was not even allowed to speak at the Republican National Convention. Though Mr. Bush did reinstate the Mexico City Policy, he left four other Clinton executive orders in place: (1) U.S. groups to use tax dollars to support abortion; (2) using federal tax dollars for fetal tissue research; (3) distribution of RU-486; and (4) overseas military hospitals to perform abortions. A man after God's heart, one who puts principle above politics, would and should have overturned them all!

President Bush has opened the doors of our nation's highest office to those committed to the radical homosexual agenda. He has left Mr. Clinton's "Don't ask, don't tell" policy in place in the United States Military. He has appointed radical homosexual activists to important government posts: Scott Evertz, Director, Office of National Aids Policy; Stephen Herbits, assistant to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfield; and Paul Celucci, Ambassador to Canada, who supervised a sex education program that teaches 14-year-old children how to perform homosexual acts.

President Bush has been strongly conservative in the financial matters of our nation but he is failing miserably in the moral issues. He cannot take a stand on God's Word for if he does, all hell will break lose! He is a good man. He is a born-again Christian. We do pray for him. But it is time for him and us to see this battle for what it really is - a battle between two seeds. It is a battle over who is Lord and whose laws reign.

Republicans aren't equipped to fight this battle, but the Democrats are. The Democrats have refused to love God's truth and God has turned them over to powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie. They hate God's Law and have no idea why. They say yes to abortion, yes to homosexuality, yes to euthanasia, yes to condom distribution, yes to legalizing drugs, and no to anything that has to do with God's truth. The true motto of the Democratic Party: "My rights, my body, my choice - I will be as God."

How does Conservatism or Republicanism deal with this kind of outrageous rebellion? It doesn't. Like parents dealing with a rebellious teenager who will turn the home, and everyone in it, upside down until he gets his own way - it seeks to keep the peace. Conservatism is like the nice and reasoned parent who has learned what is necessary to keep peace in the household - don't confront the rebel! Oh, you can tell him he is wrong (in a way that won't hurt his self-esteem) and pray for him so that he won't kill himself or others as he continues on his rebellious way, but don't be judgmental or intolerant of anything he does! Conservatism's modus operandi is "harm-reduction." It attempts to reduce the harm caused by rebellion, but it does not have the will or the power to stop it.

Christianity, on the other hand, will deal with this kind of open rebellion by standing squarely upon the Word of God! It loves the rebel enough to confront him with his sin and rebellion against God and point him, through Jesus Christ, right back to the Father. Christianity has a cause for which it is willing to die. Its modus operandi is "salvation." It attempts to introduce the rebel to a Savior who will forgive his sin and make him a new creation. Instead of reducing the harm caused by rebellion, salvation puts an end to rebellion. Instead of ripping other people off, this former rebel will lay his life, his body, and his rights down so that others might live.

This battle has been raging through the pages of the Bible and history since Genesis 3:15. There is no political solution or compromise that will ever resolve the differences between the two seeds. They will always be at war. Bipartisanship is a ruse; there is only the Word of God. It is a battle to the death. Conservatives and Republicans don't have a chance. The battle over the nomination of John Ashcroft for Attorney General was just a harbinger of battles to come where Democrats will fight with all of the unity and ferocity of hell. They will never give in. Conservatism, on the other hand, will never fight this battle to the death, for it has never found a cause for which it is willing to die. It is pretend salt!

Only Christianity will fight this battle to the death and beyond. It is real salt! It brings real hope!

Unborn Victims of Violence Act - A Very Bad Idea!

As Congress begins deliberations on this act that ostensibly puts value on the lives of wanted children in the womb, but does absolutely nothing for those children in the womb whose parents do not want them, we have four words - STOP THE POLITICAL NONSENSE! The rider attached to the Unborn Victims of Violence Act says that this bill would not apply to abortionists. Who does more physical harm to children in the womb than the local abortionist?

Though well intentioned, our Congressmen, in desperate attempts to pacify their pro-life constituencies, are sponsoring bills (Parental Notification, Parental Consent, etc.) so watered down that they deny the very Word of God. This is exactly what has happened with the Unborn Victims of Violence Act. It is not right to kill children if their parents have been notified, if their parents have given consent, or if their parents don't want them.

"No Christian Congressman should sign this bill because no Christian Congressman has been given the moral authority by God to make such a heinous compromise!" said Rev. Flip Benham, National Director of Operation Rescue. "We are not called to make distinctions between which one is more valuable in God's sight - the wanted or the unwanted. We are called to speak for them all!"

Though the ladies on the pro-abortion side have been screaming in the national media that this legislation is an attempt to overturn Roe v. Wade, nothing could be further from the truth. Shakespeare said it best, "… the lady doth protest too much, me thinks." They intuitively know that if this legislation is passed, it will forever set in concrete the difference between a wanted and an unwanted child. Just what they had in mind all the time!
