JAMES KOPP BETRAYS THE PRO-LIFE MOVEMENT, UNBORN CHILDREN, AND THE LORD HE PROCLAIMS TO SERVE 

Rev. Flip Benham, Director of Operation Rescue and Operation Save America, made this statement to all Operation Rescue leaders in the United States concerning James Kopp.

James Kopp has today publicly confessed the fact that he premeditatedly murdered Abortionist Barnett Slepian. On November 6, 1998 Chet Gallagher and I held a press conference outside an abortion mill in Dallas, Texas, asking James Kopp to surrender himself to authorities. We asked that he do this for the sake of the Pro-life Movement, the unborn children, and the Lord he proclaimed to serve. Mr. Kopp chose to go into hiding for almost three years. He has betrayed the Pro-life Movement, the unborn children, and Jesus Himself.

James Kopp's cowardice in pulling the trigger on an unarmed man in the sanctity of his own home is reprehensible. It is a sin requiring capital punishment. That's right! Christians consider life so sacred that if one premeditatedly and with malice of forethought takes the life of another, he must necessarily forfeit his own.

It is equally reprehensible that Barnett Slepian did the same thing to thousands of unborn children in the sanctity of their own mother's wombs. The Bible tells us that, "…bloodshed follows bloodshed…" (Hosea 4:2). If we sow bloodshed in the womb we will reap it in the streets. We are reaping the horrible consequences of what we have sown.

Today the media and the abortion industry will press hard to get the Justice Department, local police departments, and our local and national legislators to remove Pro-life Christians from the streets. They will use the violence of one (James Kopp) to silence the voice of the many. This would be a travesty!

OPERATION RESCUE TO ANOUNCE NEW CAMPAIGN

National Prolife leaders will hold a press conference tomorrow, Friday, November 6th, at xxxxx XX:XX in front of the XXXXXXX at XXXXXXX in Dallas, Texas. During the press conference Rev. Chet Gallagher will call for Jim Kopp, wanted as a material witness in the slaying of New York abortionist Barnett Slepian, to surrender.

"With one voice we as Christian prolifers must condemn the assaults on abortionists as sin." said Rev Gallagher. "Since Roe v. Wade we have released a spirit of murder upon our land and it has claimed another victim. This time it was an abortionist who had himself murdered thousands of little boys and girls.

Rev. Gallagher, a former Las Vegas Police officer, was once arrested on duty for joining rescuers in front of a Las Vegas abortion clinic. He believes he and Kopp were arrested together in 1988 with hundreds of others in Atlanta, GA.

Rev. Flip Benham, Director of Operation Rescue, will be addressing Attorney General Janet Reno's latest attempt to use Barnett Slepian's murder to silence the voice of Christians outside abortion mills. "Once again the Justice Department of the United States of America is attempting to use the violence of one to silence the voice of many." Said Rev. Benham. "If Miss Reno makes the peaceful proclamation of the Gospel of Christ at abortion mills impossible she will be making violent protest inevitable."
