Wednesday, 31 March 2004 Rescue Rochester Pro-life Christian Leader Jerry Crawford Begins 30-Day Federal Sentence Mr. Jerry Crawford will surrender to authorities April 1st in Niagara County to serve concurrently two 30-day sentences imposed by Federal Judge Richard Arcara. Although no law was broken Mr. Crawford and Rev. Mike Warren were convicted of disobeying Judge Araca's expired Temporary Restraining Order and sentenced March 6th 2002. The restraining order was requested by NYS Attorney General Elliot Spitzer to restrict peaceful pro-life demonstrations during an Operation Rescue National/Operation Save America Campaign held in Western New York in the spring of 1999. The executing of this sentence culminates a 5-year legal battle that included appeals to The 2nd Circuit in NYC and US Supreme Court. Rev. Warren waits for his surrender date. "Let this sentence be a warning to all those who stand opposed to a government determined to stamp out the practice and influence of Christianity on public policy and morality." said Mr. Crawford.
