S.I.S. - Back to School

PRESS CONFERENCE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ATTENTION ASSIGNMENT EDITOR

16 September 1999

KIDS FROM AROUND THE NATION TO BRING GOD BACK TO SCHOOL

Blood is coursing through the streets of America once again! This time the horrific spirit of murder manifested itself in the Wedgewood Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Where next? To stop the spirit of murder that is savaging our kids and our land, we are inviting God back to School.

Kids and teachers across the nation are going to bring their Bibles to school during the week of September 20-24, 1999. In a sweeping plan to return the Bible to America's public schools and restore biblical literacy to America's children, Operation Save America, Scriptures in Schools (SIS), and Operation Rescue are joining hands to bring God back to school.

Bob Pawson, SIS Project Coordinator says, "Perhaps America's next 'Great Revival' shall be started by children and teenagers in that most unlikely of places - her government schools."

"God has been expelled from school and banished from the school yard." Said Rev. Flip Benham, National Director of Operation Rescue. "He has been replaced with policemen, metal detectors, condoms, drugs, and violence of unprecedented order. We will not wait for the courts to get it right. They were the instruments used to remove God from school in the first place. We will bring God back to school now, through the hearts and lives of our own kids."

The national kick-off for this event will be in Birmingham, Alabama. Thousands of students, teachers and staff will bring their Bibles to school during Scriptures in Schools (SIS) week. We will flood America's schools with God's Word. Keep our Bibles in school all year long. Read our Bibles in school every day. Use Bible references for class work and assignments. We are bringing God back to School.
