The Intolerance of Tolerance

Last month, Marilyn Carroll sent a letter to the editor of the Milford Weekly as a "Declaration of Tolerance" was being passed around. Pastors were even signing this article that in seeming kind and merciful, put all religions on an even playing field with Christianity. There was a battle in the editorial section. The newspaper would not print Marilyn’s article because they said that it incited violence and her views were too extreme. She countered with the fact that they were not being tolerant of her views. The newspaper printed her article below. We have also included a very interesting response to her letter:

Dear Kathleen, seeing that this subject is about tolerance I hope you are tolerant of my Biblical standards. Any law that contradicts the Bible cannot be right or true and must be resisted. I don't believe my letter contains obvious threats of violence. The whole message short and simple is - "The wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23) I edited my letter; I hope it is clearer now as to what I was trying to say. Marilyn Carroll

Jesus was Intolerant

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6

There is no statement more intolerant than this. Jesus is saying He is the only way! This eliminates every other God and tells us that we cannot tolerate what God calls an abomination.

Would you tolerate a rattlesnake in your house? If you did it would kill you. Instead you remove it or destroy it before it did.

Would you tolerate malignant cancer, if you did it would kill you. The merciful thing to do is to remove the cancer before it kills you.

Partial birth abortion, parental consent, 24 hour waiting period are all tolerance of sin. The sixth commandment says "Thou shall not kill." In the book of "Jeremiah", God says three times that child killing is a thing so horrible, the thought never crossed his mind.

It is not alright to kill a baby by partial birth abortion.
It is not alright to kill a baby with a parent's consent.
It is not alright to kill a baby after waiting 24 hours.

God's word is intolerant against anything that sets itself up against Christ and His word. We cannot be kind and merciful to things that destroy us.

Islam is a lie - it kills us. It tells us Christ did not die on the cross. The Koran tells the Muslims to kill the infidels (which are Jews and Christians). Remember September 11?

We can't reach across the aisle, we must deal with the snake, we must remove the deadly cancer or it will kill us. Abortion, homosexuality, and Islam are examples of three lies Biblical Christians cannot tolerate.

That is why we love the sinner enough to tell him the truth, before his sin kills him and damns him to Hell for all eternity. "The wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23)

Letter to the Editor:

The rebuttal to my letter on intolerance was taken totally out of context. Jesus was the Prince of Peace but to get to Heaven He had to fight against a real enemy, and so do we. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15 that if Jesus wasn't raised from the dead (as Islam claims he wasn't), all we do is in vain.

The Spanish Inquisition killed more Christians than anyone else. Men that asked questions (inquisitors) were killed. The Pope spoke for God and could do no wrong. Christians opposed to that were killed. Moors (Muslims) were killed by Ferdinand and Isabelle.

The Crusades killed Jews and Muslims. Muslims were killing Christians. You wouldn't be free to write the letter to the editor.

The opposite of Intolerance is not Tolerance. The opposite of tolerance is biblical love. The final analogy is Christianity is true and Jesus is God.

You can tolerate a rattlesnake as it bites and poisons. You can tolerate a pedophile as he sexually abuses children. You can tolerate a rapist as he goes on raping women. You can tolerate sodomites as they sodomize our kids. You can tolerate Hitler as he killed the Jews. People that tolerate don't want to get involved.

They say kids are going to have sex, we must tolerate it and give them condoms. Drug addicts are going to use drugs so we might as well give them clean needles. Tolerant people just watch others as they go off a cliff.

Just stand by and say "Don't judge." Jesus was intolerant of sin that kills people. He paid the price of sin with His life and suffering. He dealt with tax collectors and Pharisees.

American military always apologize for killing innocent women and children. They try their best not to do it but in war it happens. Islam never apologize, instead they use young people as suicide bombers. Islam attacks to kill innocent people. Their leaders hide in mosques behind children. How many churches are there in Saudi Arabia ? None. They won't tolerate any.
