Day Three at North Mecklenburg

Today, Flip and team tackled the issue of abortion. Baby Malachi was displayed and the brochure with his story was passed out. The phone calls keep coming. I cannot tell you the incredible conversations we have been able to be a part of. Some of the anger seems to have subsided, some has not, and now we are having many more genuine conversations.
We have had several calls from Christian students like Bob who thanked us for not being ashamed of the Gospel and the consequences of proclaiming the Truth. Shawn liked the cross and the Ten Commandments display. He also said that in his class they discussed the fact that violence has grown since the Bible was taken out of the public schools.
The team will finish their outreach on Friday morning at North Mecklenburg High. On Friday afternoon, Flip and a few others will be at the North Mecklenburg baseball game at 4:30 to answer any questions that the students might have.
Below is an email I received from Brenda who answers the OSA emails. She does an amazing job.
Thought you'd like to know ~ So far we've had 16 people email us about the Huntersville campaign. One of these said, "Great job. Keep it up!" The others were less friendly. I think most of them are students. We had one fella identify himself as a dad, though, if so, he seemed a couple of bricks shy of a full load. He compared OSA saints to Reverend Moon. Gayle Stamler said the kids had a better grasp of Christian love than OSA Christians do...[luv, luv, luv, ho hum]. Jill Niland "in Chicago " excoriated our proclaimers accusing them of ignorance and of spewing filthy messages. She did have a cute little italicized pronouncement at the bottom of her message under her name that said: After the rapture, we get all their stuff. Andrew (no. 17), just now emailed with several excellent questions so I'd better get back to responding to these. Ooops! another two emails just came in! Keep doing whatever it is y'all are doing, Flip, these kids are questioning, thinking for themselves, becoming convicted, Alleluia.!!...(as someone we ALL know and LOVE would say), "REVIVAL!!" |
