Word in Warfare
in the Streets of Dallas
By Pastor Chet
Gallagher
Daniel 11:32: “…but
the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
Here are a few details fresh from the battlefield…
Four days ago JoAnn and I returned from Dallas, Texas following a week
of dynamic, strategic level, spiritual warfare with Operation Save America
(OSA). Dozens of men, women youth and even some children, in our team
boldly wore black T-shirts with white block letters which read, “Homosexuality
is a sin…Islam is a lie…Abortion is murder….Some issues
are just black and white.”
On Sunday, July 14, three homosexual “churches” (whose services
members of our group “attended,”) saw these boldly “Intolerant”
T-shirts…in fact their entire congregations saw the T-shirts…just
as the ushers escorted several of our teams out of the service. For two
hours we prayed, worshipped, and once we all knelt praying for Jesus to
set them free. I read 1st John, chapter 1 out loud.
Never forget we are to be the “Church Militant” but allow
me to temper my words and issue this truth: That mercy triumphs over judgment.
And that truth, which can and should be declared boldly, but must always,
be spoken in love.
Our mandate in Eph 6:12 resulted in much resistance beginning
on Sunday…but guess where? Opposition came first from a “Christian”
church across the street from the large Islamic mosque. Our banner, protesting
the lie of Islam, proclaimed this challenge:
“If
you believe Jesus was a prophet, why won’t you believe what He said?”
The Christian “church”
(the one across the street from the mosque) kicked us off their parking
lot. They told us they were “building a bridge to Muslims.”
But… (and you will find this hard to believe, but it’s true)
after a few days, the very Muslims we were challenging said they “respected
what we were doing” and later their Imam came out and told the team
we could hold our banner in their mosque parking lot!
Which we did, hallelujah! Go figure!
On a side note…at the mosque venue above, the Dallas police observed
one precious Christian family so graciously respond to the persecution
by the above church (specifically, a church leader had earlier physically
pushed one of their young daughters off the church grass) Well, anyway,
the Godly character of this simple Christian family was so evident, the
Dallas police took up an offering and gave money to that
family, saying “Take your family to dinner on us.” So amazing
was their witness…
We had powerful worship services nightly and the Word was preached with
great conviction and with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
During our week long spiritual assault on the gates of hell, although
over hundreds of Christians physically intervened on behalf of the unborn,
the Dallas police were incredibly gracious in their dealings with us.
Ultimately no one was ever arrested! Too much happened to try to share
it all here. Suffice it to say hundreds stood in the gap, and as a result
we know of at least 8 babies and mothers who were saved from abortion!
We really had church…I mean, did we ever!
Then when we did a silent Jericho March 7 times around one killing center,
you could actually see the “clinic” workers trembling in fear
when, at the end of this powerful, prophetic march, someone blew a shofar
and we all shouted the Name of “Jesus!” You could almost actually
see these very gates of hell crumble. “Awesome” doesn’t
begin to describe these kinds of experiences.
I said, and still say, there are issues that scripture
declares are black and white, and it may come across incorrectly that
we don’t even have to love “those people.” That is a
wrong statement and that is not my heart. I must report to you we did
extend our love and the love of Jesus toward them and I exhort you always
to do the same. If we had not also succeeded in truly demonstrating our
love toward them, and the love of Jesus toward them, we would have failed
in, and made our prophetic ministry to them, of no effect. We would have
been worse than clanging cymbals.
I want to thank Pastor Bill Shanks from Louisiana, who
publicly admonished and clearly rebuked individuals that had spoke harshly
and even used inappropriate name calling toward those we wanted to minister.
During this week our growing ministry called Word in Warfare experienced
one of the most powerful times of strategic level, spiritual warfare ever.
The ENTIRE Bible, yes, Genesis to Revelation, was read aloud, in public,
over the city of Dallas in one morning. There were 16 different “venues”
(various city gateways and strongholds… including a retail shop
next to our Dallas hotel called, “Condoms to Go.”) where the
entirety of God’s Word was publicly proclaimed as God commands us.
I took 5 reading teams (about 20+ people) to the Court house and County
jail. There a deputy sheriff sergeant said it was against the law to read
the bible on… (and this is a quote) “private county property.”
(Huh?) He was very serious.
When we explained we were willing to go to jail rather than submit to
such a ludicrous demand he became so convicted something amazing happened.
Thinking we were all about to have a jailhouse lunch anytime soon, he
came out to us again about 10 minutes later as we continued the reading.
But this time, with tears in his eyes he told me, “I’m a Christian.
I love the Lord. I just told my supervisor he would have to give me days
off without pay,” (that is suspend him) “but I am not going
to arrest Christians for reading the bible.” Well, he didn’t,
and the reading continued to the end!
But get this miracle: A crowd had gathered over all the
to do and as we worshipped, prayed in Jesus name and continued declaring
aloud, the Word of God it did not return void. Even though an altar call
was not given…6 people we’re saved! Glory to God! What a tremendous
time of ministry.
I found out the next day that this Christian deputy sheriff, who was a
corrections sergeant, was in fact suspended for two days as a result of
his righteous stand. Jesus is going to really bless that guy. Pray for
him right now…his name is Sgt. Green. Bless him good, King Jesus!
Another thing I must say to you who have put your trust
in us, is that as a pastor working with other pastors this week in Dallas,
we dealt responsibly beforehand with the police so that none of the sheep
who had placed their trust in us were at risk of being jailed. This is
important for you to know, because as leaders we must always consider
the welfare of our people and their families even in very real spiritual
battles. The only time some were at risk, was when the police said they
were going to arrest us for reading the bible in public. That took us
quite by surprise and for that some would have willingly gone to jail.
Well, after that kind of ministry in the Word, worship,
prayer and the Name of Jesus, people from all over the country have decided
to join us and lead teams doing the Word in Warfare this fall.
As a matter of fact, so far 35 cities are registered for a National Word
in Warfare event called “Gates of Hell…COME DOWN!” Starting
next week you’ll be able to go to our new web site http://wordinwarfare.com
for all the details on this National Halloween outreach. Let me know if
you want to participate wherever you are. You’ll also be able to
register on the web site.
All this happened only because of the love of the Lord Jesus. It is His
love demonstrated through us and compelling us to act on behalf of Him
toward all He died to save. We must strive to do this in the power of
His Holy Spirit, always in both mercy and truth.
Because many of you said you would pray and you did…guess
what? Even the weather…one of the coolest summer weeks ever…was
a miracle.
Thanks for praying, don’t stop now. In fact…Perhaps you should
begin asking the Lord Jesus if you should be joining us next summer with
OSA (if not before with Word in Warfare!).
JoAnn and I love you very much! We bless you in the only Name wherein
there is the power to bless…the Name of Jesus.
