A Message from Flip in Israel

A Message from Flip in Israel

Daniel, Bob, Marvin and Orbit Kramer
Daniel, Bob, Marvin and Orbit Kramer

This photo was taken in front of the national headquarters of the pro-life movement in Israel. It is located in Haifa which is a large city on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Marvin Kramer and his wife Orit (center of the picture) have been the directors for the past two years.

Rita (also in the photo) and her husband Peter are the ones putting on the "school of Ministry" for us in Israel. They were also instrumental in establishing the pro-life work here in Northern Israel in 1991.

We were shocked to find out that the orthodox Jews are so adamantly opposed to the pro-life work here. They believe that pro-life work is only a cover-up for Christian witnessing which, as far as they are concerned, should be illegal. They have a group called the "Yadlachim" (Yad L'Chem) which is an anti-missionary group, receiving funding from all over the world, to stop Christian missionaries from witnessing the love of Christ to Jews, Arabs, and Muslims in Israel.

Abortion here is a national travesty. If you are a young girl under the age of 17, you are able to get an abortion free of charge, without your parent's knowledge. The state here has become the parent of the children. Women are drafted into the army in Israel and they are allowed 2 free abortions during their two year stay in the military. Girls are drafted right out of high school. Boys are also drafted right out of high school but they have to serve three years rather than two.

If Israel had the same population as the United States they would be killing 2.7 million children per year. In the US today, we are killing approximately 1.1 million per year. More dangerous than any enemy from the outside, more violent than any militant Islamic terrorism, Israel has been a terror to herself. She is eating herself as she sheds the blood of her innocent children. Her land is full of blood.

We have learned that Bloodshed touches bloodshed (Hosea 4:2). If we shed blood in the womb we will reap bloodshed in the streets. Should Israel be surprised at the bloodshed now filling her streets? "...Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you." (Ezekiel 35:6). And bloodshed is pursuing Israel. Will she repent and turn to Jesus her Messiah?

Not if the Orthodox have anything to do with it! This group makes up about 25% of the population in Israel. Not if the secular Jew (read non-believer) has anything to say about it. This group makes up about 70% of the population. Is there any hope that Israel will turn to her Messiah?

The Orthodox Jews hate Christians as much, if not more, than they hate Muslims. There is a bitterness that has filled their hearts over past wrongs (Crusades, Nazi Holocaust, ad infinitum). The secular Jews are just like secular Americans. They are moved only by their own personal freedoms and rights - personal and national peace is their mantra.

In the midst of this bleak picture stands a brilliant ray of sunshine in the Messianic Jewish community. These Jewish believers in Jeshua are standing strong for their Lord in a land that hates them and the Savior they represent. Marvin and Rita have been physically attacked by Jews who do not want them passing out Gospel tracts. Their Crisis Pregnancy Center sign has been graffitied with crosses and swastikas. For the Jew in Israel, the cross and the Swastika are synonymous.

I know that you have heard many in the evangelical community in the US asking for money to help folks who have been the victims of terrorist attacks in Israel. Please, in the Name of Jesus, do not give it to them. The money is going to non-believers. Help the Messianic Churches in Israel. Give your money to your brothers and sisters in Israel who are lifting up the Name of Jesus and paying a very high price for it.

This is a very chopped up report, but we believe it is essential for you to know what is going on over here in the center of a Gospel storm.

The kids in Israel are just like the kids in the states, drugs, suicide, homosexuality, pointlessness, hopelessness, despair, violence, ad nauseam. But the kids we have witnessed who love Jesus are powerful in their witness. They are absolutely unashamed!

Please keep us in you prayers. We will be in Jerusalem next week!

Shalom in Jesus' Name,
Flip
