Judge's ruling: "If they don't like it, they can turn their heads!"

Because of the courage of a humble saint by the name of Ron Brock, God opened the door to reach over one million people (1,700, 000 in attendance) with the graphic truth of abortion at Michigan's "Dream Cruise" down Woodward Boulevard. Last year, Ron and a few mighty warriors brought his mobile truth truck and entered the parade. Because he dared to bring his truck of truth into the classic car cruise, Ron was arrested. With the help of The Thomas Moore Foundation, Ron successfully defended his right to speak for his Lord and God's children.

Days before the 2002 Dream Cruise, a federal judge ruled that it was legal for people to show pictures of aborted children on the streets during the event. In his ruling, Judge Paul V. Gadola stated, "If they don't like it, they can turn their heads." With that decision and less than 24 hours to prepare, Cleveland Life Link mounted four of our 4x8 foot displays on our truck and trailer and headed for Michigan to join three other "truth vehicles." We brought Jesus and unmasked the lie of "choice" to over a million car fans.

Never have I been more excited and terrified at the same time. It was exciting that God had opened the door to allow us to witness to over a million people, yet terrifying because the conviction of Truth was causing many people to respond in anger.

Traveling at less than five miles an hour, and just a few feet away from a thousand people at any given moment, gave many angry people avenues to vent. We were constantly "flipped off," cursed, shouted at, and water, beer, ice, and eggs were all thrown our way. We were spit on, they banged on our windows and trucks, signs were ripped off, and one of us was punched a couple times.

In the midst of this chaos, Jesus' peace was in our hearts and the devil's lie of "choice" was exposed. Conviction was falling on many, many people. It was not uncommon to see them with their eyes wide, mouths hanging open, and their hands to their face as they viewed the horrible truth of what we are doing to our children in America.

We know that the lives of many children will be spared from abortion as a result of our witness at the "Dream Cruise." God's Word never returns to Him void. Men and women will choose life - not death for their child because someone cared enough to despise the shame and tell the truth. Best of all, many will be brought to Christ and find forgiveness and healing in the loving arms of Jesus. "The wounds of a friend bring healing…" Proverbs 27:6.
