Report From Florida

by Brenda Spurlock

March 22, 2005

3:00 pm CST

About 100 persons including Flip and the Operation Rescue/Operation Save America team, are keeping vigil in front of the Pinellas Park hospice where Terri Schiavo is being starved and dehydrated to death. It has been 96 hours since Terri has had a drop of water. By now her lips are parched, her throat dry and her eyes itchy and stinging.

“This is what happens,” Flip told me. “When you throw God out of a society, violence replaces Him. The spirit of murder has infested our culture. Babies are being slaughtered in their mother's wombs. We have a teen committing mass murder in Red Lake Minnesota, gunning down family and fellow students. Just two hours north of here in Homosassa, Florida, little Jessica Lunsford was savagely raped and murdered. Here in Pinellas Park, we are euthanizing our helpless. Murder is considered the answer for everything. God has said, 'All who hate Me love death,' (Proverbs 8:36).“

Flip spoke about the callousness of Judge George Greer and Judge James Whittemore who denied requests to reinsert Terri Schiavo's feeding tube, and about the arrogance of the judiciary. But he said, “What is going on in the courts is a direct judgment from Almighty God on a land that has turned its back on Him. Job 9:24 tells us 'When a land falls into the hands of the wicked, He blindfolds its judges. If it is not He, then who is it?'

“America 's judges have proven they hate God,” Flip said. “The manifestation of that is - they love death. Who was it that gave us ridiculous decisions like Roe vs. Wade ?“ he asked.

Flip said he had planned to bring Large Marge, his dog, to Florida with him. He was going to keep her in a cage and put a sign on the cage saying, “This dog is not being fed or given water until Terri Schiavo is given food and water.“

“Now, just what do you think would happen if I did that?“ he asked. ”I think you would be in jail so fast it would make your head spin,“ I told him.

“Faye wouldn't let me bring Marge,” he admitted.
