Denver Anti-War Protest Confronted

Denver Anti-War Protest Confronted

On Nov. 29th, 2005, Jason Troyer, driving the truth truck, circled the Bush picket in down town Denver.

There were between 300 and 500 Bush protesters that marched from the capitol building to the Brown Palace.  They were banging on drums, pots and pans, blowing horns and using anything else that would make a lot of noise.  It looked to me like a bunch of people were using free speech rights as a guise to make noise.  The Mad Hatter and Alice showed up along with some of the other characters from “ Alice in Wonderland.” It sure seemed fitting.  They were protesting the cruel treatment of our troops, but they were also in favor of abortion, therefore in favor of killing off future troops.   Effeminate men were holding a "Soul Force" sign.  I suppose that they believe that limp wrists and lisps will keep us free.  And of course the nicer-than-God Christians showed up holding "Thou shalt not kill" signs.  Where are they when innocent children are being killed in this country, in their town, everyday?

I tried to get a picture of one of the more outrageous signs that had a picture of Saddam and under it, it said "Free Saddam," but I just couldn't get it. Yesterday I had the opportunity to do something that I've always wanted to do, but I passed it up in fear of “liberal spit.”  I had this incredible urge to roll down the window as we passed the anti war, pro homo protesters and yell "Get a job!"  But the spit factor was toooo high.  They were foaming at the mouth when they were just trying to talk to us. We discovered that when large groups of liberals are confronted with the truth truck, the windshield becomes a spit shield.

The Bush protester rented a totally ineffective billboard truck, it was laughable.  One side had a picture of Bush and Marilyn and it said,“Marilyn's mentor.” The other side said, "Stop gay marriage so Osama won't get away." Most people down town didn't get what they were trying to say, not even their own people responded to the message. Our truth truck, on the other hand, got all kinds of response.
