“Seminaries Oozing Abominable Theology”

“Seminaries Oozing Abominable Theology”

Ken and Jo Scott, Leslies Hanks, et al., have been ever so busy at the gates of hell in Colorado this past year. Below you will see their bold witness for Christ as eminent “theologians” (false prophets) from across the country gathered at New Hope Baptist Church in Denver , to encourage one another in spreading their false theology across our nation. When confronted with the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, however, these bastions of tolerance, reason, and kindness become anything but that. Enjoy. ~Flip

New Hope Baptist Church located at 38th and Colorado Blvd. in Denver, Colorado, rented their facilities to Iliff School of Theology for their leadership conference, themed "A Charge to Keep: A Call for Religious Leadership in a Diverse and Wounded World.” It ran three days, January 23-25, 2006. Iliff School of Theology is a large school with plenty of room to accommodate its own conference. The president of Iliff School of Theology, Philip Wogaman, openly supports both homosexuality and abortion. (For his views on homosexuality see: http://www.zionsherald.org/MARCH2004_perspective.html.) Why rent the facility from one of the most influential black churches in Denver?

My conjecture is that Iliff School of Theology with its liberal humanist, pro-homosexual, pro-abortion agenda is looking for ways to connect with Denver 's black community. If the homosexual movement is accepted as well as abortion has been by the black churches it will make it that much easier to "hitch their star" to the civil rights movement to gain credibility, sympathy and momentum.

On January 22, Sanctity of Life Sunday, pro-lifers decided to take their education campaign to New Hope Baptist Church. In order to insure that our message would be seen and understood, we included large graphic pictures of aborted babies as a part of our display. The members at New Hope were cordial as they openly received our literature outlining the devastation of abortion in the black community as well as a short statement about who would be using their facility for the following few days. Included in the statement was a reminder that our duty as Christians is to rebuke sin, (Ephes. 5:11), not embrace it and make a profit off of it. The response for the most part was favorable, not enthusiastic, but favorable.

During the course of the morning a man identifying himself as Doctor Joe, a law professor at Denver University, approached us to ascertain exactly why we felt compelled to be at his church. The discussion was insightful and very pleasant. He encouraged me several times to contact his pastor because he thought that it would benefit both of us. I was thrilled at the prospect of meeting with Reverend Peters. It has long been my belief that if the pastors in the black churches would realistically address the sin of abortion and fornication we would see far less abortion in the black community. As it stands now, more black children are aborted than born to black families in America , and this is by design, not by accident. Planned Parenthood targets the black and ethnic communities because of their racist roots, beginning with Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. (See: http://www.blackgenocide.org/black.html.)

On Monday morning, Leslie Hanks, Vice President of Colorado Right to Life and I visited the office of New Hope Baptist Church and left a message for Pastor Peters to contact us for a possible meeting. Within minutes of leaving the building to join the proclamation on the sidewalk outside the church, Reverend Peters called me and in no uncertain terms told me that there would be no meeting. Doctor Joe stated on Sunday that he would follow up with Reverend Peters and encourage him to meet with us. Hopefully, he will do that.

Just as a side note, as I was talking to Doctor Joe about the possible positive and negative effects of our Sunday sidewalk display, a young woman emerged from the side door of the church. She was wailing and heading right to pro-lifers Ken Scott and Clifton Powell. Ken braced himself not knowing what was about to happen. When she reached him, she fell into his arms and thanked both Ken and Clifton for saving her baby. Ken took her to me for comfort. With tears streaming she told Doctor Joe and me that she had been at Planned Parenthood in December for an abortion. Nicole wept as she recalled how terrible the pictures and the people calling out to her made her feel. She said that it shocked her into reality and she didn't go through with the abortion. She said that every day since then she wanted to go back to Planned Parenthood to tell us that her baby was safe. She was so thankful that we were right outside her church. Nicole is five months pregnant now and looking forward to the birth of her child. Doctor Joe said that he was not so naive as to believe that she would be the only girl in his church to go to such a place.

Monday and Tuesday played out as days that could be added to the files of The Twilight Zone. Several people attending Iliff's conference approached our "Sidewalk Seminar" to “set us straight” in the ways of God and the world. Not the least of these was a young man professing to know more about science than all of us put together. His topic was "the theory of gravity". It was hard to keep a straight face as he explained that gravity isn't a law and may not be constant. I suggested that he tether himself to something if he really believed that he could suddenly float off the planet. An older gentleman explained to us that poverty is a crime. When asked, "How do you commit poverty?" He had no answer. We suggested that perhaps that is why this man would believe in abortion, because he evidently believes poverty is a crime and the children of the poor are worthy of the death penalty. In light of the fact that the people attending the conference are against the death penalty, he was left with nothing to say.

After reading the Iliff leadership conference itinerary it was clear to me that false prophets are targeting the youth with their abominable philosophies. Professors and theologians from all over the United States spoke at and attended this conference. (To read a copy of their brochure see: http://www.iliff.edu/degree_programs/iliff_institute.htm#lectures, and then click on the link to “this year's brochure.”)

Col.2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

Only the truth will overcome the avalanche of lies threatening to bury the Church. It is our job as Christians to thwart the efforts of vain philosophers and false prophets to weaken the Church and our society. It will be difficult considering that our own children are being steeped in these same vain philosophies by the government schools. But this is the subject for another time.
