Marilyn Carroll reporting: We had Flip here this weekend to come and join us in street activities and teach us from the Scriptures. He arrived Friday late afternoon and we had a delightful meeting with Fr Francis and Fr Looney.
Saturday morning we were off to Planned Parenthood in New Haven. We took our normal positions for sidewalk counseling and had the sound system for praise and worship and street preaching. Pastor Flip was on Whitney Ave holding a Malachi sign in one hand and his Bible in the other. A cop came up to him and told him to get off the street so he complied and went on the sidewalk. The same cop was later ordered to tell him to remove his sign or get arrested. When this cop went back to Flip he did not give him any ultimatum, he just took his sign and told him to get in the car.
The sergeant at the scene who was giving us a hard time about the sound system told Marc that Flip would probably be processed and released. We went to get him out at 10:30 am, they told us to come back in two hours. We called in two hours and they said to call back in an hour and a half or two hours. We did. They said he was not processed yet and there were 15 people ahead of him. At one point when we called at 3:15 they said he would have a $2500 bond. Then when Danny called they said they would let him out on a promise to appear within the hour. Fr Francis and I went to the police lock-in to get him out. Then they told us he did not get his picture taken yet and they were waiting for a photographer. We waited outside in the cold for 45 minutes then went back in. They told Fr Francis that the photographer was in the building but not there yet to take the picture. We waited longer and then I went in and said how long? They said they did not know to go to the front desk and ask the Police Dept. they were only some legislative office? I felt like I was in a communist country. The wrongful communication and the deception was unbelievable. I cannot believe the kind of judicial system we have. When I went to the front desk, I could not believe who was there! It was the same sargeant that was at the mill giving us a hard time. When I asked for Rev. Benham he said "oh that guy from the abortion clinic, he'll be lucky if he gets out by Monday. He has no I.D. and he is from out of town. There is a $2500. bail on him. I could not believe my ears. One department is saying something totally different from the other. I rushed home with Fr Francis to try to go through Flip's bag to find his licence. Carmen and I found it. I rushed back this time with Marc to try to get Flip out. We parked the car and got out and were walking toward the lock out office and low and behold there was Pastor Flip standing on the sidewalk (talking to Dave Lackey on the cell phone). He said there was an angel inside that helped him get out on a promise to appear in court Monday morning. PTL! I jumped for joy and screamed, I was never so glad to see Flip. We came home and were greeted by all the saints who had come to hear Flip's preaching. We ate a wonderful dinner and Flip did an awesome teaching on The Theft of Thanksgiving (you can get it at on the web site). We had an awesome Sunday morning service and Flip taught on being "persecuted for His sake". We had to change Flip's ticket back for Sunday night to Monday night because he had to appear in court Monday morning at 9 am. Monday morning Carmen and I brought Flip to the court for 9 am. They told us that the court did not start till 11:30 am. We asked why they put nine o'clock on the paper, they said because people are always late? I don't believe how they run the courts either. So out of order just like the police department. So we went to Yale Law School to pass out brochures on the Theft of Thanksgiving. A security guard and Yale police officer told us we could not pass them out in the building so we left. We went across the street to the cemetery there. It was awesome reading the gravestones from Revolutionary War days. There were Scriptures and mention of our Lord. The tombstones were wearing out and nothing was being done to preserve them. After that we brought Flip back to the court and left because we could tell it would last forever. Marc Caiani reporting: We had an Acts 12 weekend and GOD is faithful to His children, he delivers them from all trials Ps 34:19. I was scheduled to bring Flip to the airport today after his court appearance for the incident at Planned Parenthood on Saturday. We were planning to leave the area by 3:30 PM, his flight was at 6:20 PM. His court time was to appear at 9 am. They told him that they would not start taking cases until 11 am. By 2 PM he had not been called yet and things were not looking good. I went to pick up Flip's bags at Marilyn's house around 2 PM and went to New Haven where Flip was being arraigned. I want you to see GOD'S faithfulness in even the smallest details. First I found a parking spot only half block from the court house and the parking meter had fifty-one minutes still in it. The officer at the court house would not let me in because I had a camera cell phone; they are not allowed in court. I had to bring the phone to the car. I returned to the court house just in time to see Flip getting called to face the judge. His prosecutor was the same (angel) that let him out of jail Saturday, she worked all out for Flip, she gave Flip time served for the time he served in jail and he got let go without fine and no restrictions. She told Flip confidentially that she did not agree with what went on Saturday at Planned Parenthood and she knows we have the right to protest with the graphic signs. Whoever she was angel or not she was sent by GOD. We left there was still time left in the meter and got to leave even before 3:30 PM. We got Flip safely to the airport in plenty of time. This weekend we have witnessed GOD do exceedingly abundantly above what we even imagined we have seen Matt 6:33-34; Rom 8:28; and Phil 4:4-7 become reality and perhaps even met an angel.
