Press Release for Roe v. Wade Memorial

PRESS RELEASE
ATTENTION ASSIGNMENT EDITOR
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On Saturday, January 24, 2004, the Church of Jesus Christ is planning to conduct a Roe vs. Wade Memorial service. The service will be held at the Summit Center, 3787 Main Street in Bridgeport starting at 8:00 am sharp and ending at approximately 9:30 am.

“For 31 years, America the Beautiful, has been either complicit or complacent in a grievous sin against God and a brutal crime against humanity. Abortion, the American holocaust, is responsible for shedding the blood of the innocent that has defiled and polluted the “home of the brave and land of the free.” In every conceivable way abortion has violated that which has made our nation good, strong, and free. We pray this is the year that America begins to throw off the pagan philosophy deceptively called “quality of life” which has produced the culture of death and return to the Biblical truth, which advocates the “Sacredness of Life.” We pray this is the year America starts the journey back to her founding creed, "We hold these truths to be self-evident. That all men are created equal and they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life…” stated Rev. Rusty Lee Thomas, Assistant Director of Operation Save America National.

"Another year has passed since the legalization of abortion. Is this something that our nation is proud of? We are a great nation, founded on honorable principles. We can do better than this”, stated Fr. Greg Markey from St. Mary's Church in Norwalk.

“We have been out in front of this killing center for 14 years proclaiming the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. There have 1200 babies saved and over 350 people come to the saving grace and knowledge of Christ during these trying times. The count of babies killed weekly has dropped drastically as we try to persuade women that it is better to be a mother, under any circumstances, then it is to have participated in the death of their own children. We look forward to the day when child killing will totally end in Bridgeport and our nation”, stated Marilyn Carroll from Operation Save America CT.
