Friday Report, 7-21-06

"…When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him." Isaiah 59:19b.

For a time tonight the stage at Smith Park in downtown Jackson was like a scene out of hell filled with gyrating satyrs, some imitating perverse sex acts, all intent on mocking God.

One young woman carried a sign “Lesbians do it better.” Another wore a net petticoat, a thin top and little else as she undulated across the stage.

Operation Save America Christians were at Smith Park to recount the activities of the day which included four salvations, and to praise and worship the Lord. (Remember, we had been kicked out of the comfort of the church house back into the streets for our nightly rallies. We were about to discover for what purpose.)

Brother Butch Berget played praise songs as the strange creatures cavorted. When Christians bowed their heads to pray for them, screams and animal sounds issued from the stage.

Then Pastor Flip called on Cleopatra “Cleo” Jenkins to testify and all heaven came down.

Cleo appealed directly and lovingly to the dozen or so young men and women behaving so bizarrely in an effort to disrupt the OSA service. She told them, she had been one of them. She had been a lesbian and a stripper… a druggie, until Jesus lifted her out of her sin and gave her new heart. She prayed with passion that they would turn to Christ, repent and be saved.

The Holy Spirit continued to move as Clarissa Mosby testified. She had prostituted for drugs and had children out of wedlock. God had set her free.

Pastor Dale Sochia told how his father had kicked him out of the house at 17, because of his rebelliousness. He was a drug addict, eating out of trash cans when a Christian fed him and led him to Jesus.

There was a different atmosphere entirely by the last testimony. Christians later ministered one on one to the pagan group and are trusting God for the harvest.

The Lord had indeed lifted up the Standard.

"Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." Revelation 19:10b.
