Emergency Response Teams Needed

This was in the newsletter of Mecklenburg Ministries this week. The rhetoric of the religious establishment of Charlotte is meant only to incite others to fear of genuine, orthodox Christians who desire to lift up the banner of Jesus Christ in the city of Charlotte

 Emergency Response Teams Needed

As many of you may have read, a group that holds a lot of hatred for the Islamic community is holding its national convention in the Charlotte area the week of July 12-20. They are planning demonstrations at area mosques. While Charlotte-Mecklenburg police believe the risk of violence is minimal, there is always the chance for vandalism, harassment or other such hate crimes.

If you would be willing to be on standby during the week to respond to any particular act of hate with an act of love, please email us and sign up for one of our emergency response teams. We formed similar teams after 9-11 and thankfully did not have to use them. If something does happen this time, we would contact you by email or phone (your choice) with a way that you could respond, be it to lend your elbow grease to remove graffiti or just to be present in the midst of hurt. We do hope we will not have to call you.
