Today, Flip and team headed back to North Mecklenburg with the brochure entitled “Do Not Judge.” This brochure contains an email we received from a young lady at another area high school. In it she speaks of how we as Christians need to be more tolerant toward others, like those trapped in homosexuality or Muslims – the same response we heard yesterday. It also contains Flip's response to her that as Christians we are called to make judgments according to God's Word. (You can find this and all brochures that we pass out on our website in the brochure section.) Flip said that it had rained all night in Charlotte and he knew that they were going to get drenched this morning, but just as they reached the school, the rain stopped. It did not start again until they were packing up to leave the school. God is so good! I received another call today. It was from the student I spoke with yesterday that called me a “fundi.” He called to tell me that his name was Patrick. I apologized for thinking that I was speaking to a young lady. I told him the day was intense and I was getting one phone call after another. He apologized for some of the phone calls I received from students who were mocking and yelling obscenities. He also said that he liked today's brochure much better. I apologized to him if I got intense with him during our conversation and told him to have a great day. Whether he agrees with us or not, I like this kid. I think he's a smart one. Today, he proved that. The team will be at this school all week. On Friday, after school, they will invite students to come and discuss the issues that have been brought up. Pray that Jesus will have His way and that those with questions will come. Students, you will have a voice. We will listen. All we ask is that you do the same.
