North Carolina Christians Take a Stand, Evil Flees By Bill Fancher (AgapePress) - Christians in North Carolina have taken a stand against the pro-homosexual agenda -- and they're winning some of the battles. Churches in the Charlotte area have taken on homosexual activists recently, and the results have been encouraging. Flip Benham of Operation Save America says he is elated. "As the Church comes out of the closet, we are finding out that many of the enemies of God are moving back into the closet," he says. A case in point, Benham says, was the recent cancellation of the "Charlotte Pride" parade , a springtime gathering that in past years has featured transvestite dancers, homosexual comedians, and vendor booths pushing sadomasochism (S&M) merchandise. He credits the activist members of Operation Save America and their supporters with the turnabout. "They just got so fed up with us that many of them left," he says. "And by the way, many of them came to know Christ through the witnessing of hundreds of Christians who came out in the street." In another example 900 Christians showed up at a school board meeting where a proposal for a homosexual club in a local high school was denied -- because churches took a stand, says Benham. "I hope that this sends a bright ray of hope out to our entire country that many of the battles can be won if we, the Church, will simply come out of the closet, come out of the four walls, and just live our faith out in the streets," the ministry leader says. The Bible is right, says Benham, adding that it is great to see the Church take a stand. "We've found out that it's true that when the church of Jesus Christ arrives at the gates of hell, the gates of hell cannot prevail against it," he exclaims. Fancher, a regular contributor to AgapePress , is a reporter for American Family Radio News , which can be heard online. In response to this wonderful news, my good friend David Moore, editor-in-chief of Q-notes, the chief purveyor of homosexual news in the Carolinas , had this to say: In the Name of God and Bigotry “…In Salisbury at Rowan County High School 17-year-old Britney Sharp has been the focus of a lot of attention lately because she and another student formed a Gay/Straight Alliance (GSA) club this past February. When Sharp approached the principal about securing a meeting place for club members to talk about issues that they face, she was told that approval for such a club would have to come from the Rowan County School Board. Initially, members of the board — begrudgingly — approved the club because they were advised that they were required to do so by law. Poof! Bam! Zowie! Operation Save America (OSA) to the rescue! Faster than the chariot of Moses, able to leap the tallest steeples in a single bound, it's Possessed Evangelical Man (PEM)! “The national God is going back to school campaign starts with a bang!” Shouts PEM. “If we do not fight this battle now when we have a good chance of winning in Jesus' name, we may find ourselves having to fight when there is little or no hope of victory, realizing that it is better to die free than live under the bondage of homosexual slavery.” Huh? Blah, blah, blah. While Benham was at the meeting he handed out about 40 T-shirts, which students have been wearing to class since the board announced that they intended to disallow the club... “…The next day at school there were about 15 people wearing those Operation Save America shirts,” says Sharp… I know that many of us have forgotten the difficulties faced by a child or teenager that others perceive as different from themselves — not to mention the child or teenager who's actually bold enough to come to terms with what it is about themselves that's actually different. Hat's off to you, Britney. ;-) The battle we see being waged here at the very gates of hell in Charlotte, is nothing less than the battle between two seeds – the seed of the serpent v. the seed of the woman , Genesis 3:15. This battle has been raging through the pages of the Bible and history since the devil rebelled in heaven and was cast to the earth. It is not about abortion, homosexuality, euthanasia, or false religion. It is about who is Lord and whose laws reign. The seed of the serpent says, “my rights, my body, my choice. I do what I want whenever I want. My one commandment is , ‘Don't judge me!' David Moore is of this seed. The seed of the woman, on the other hand, says. “Not my will but Thine be done. I am not my own, I have been bought with a price, I will glorify God with my body. My one commandment is, ‘God's Word is my standard and my Judge.'” You and I are of this seed. What makes the difference? Christ. You and I, who claim His Name, were all, at one time, card-carrying members of the seed of the serpent. But Jesus saved us out of our own self-absorbtion that we might share with others, like David Moore, the good news that will set him free. We don't belong to us anymore. We belong to Him! Keep storming the gates of hell in Jesus' Name! Flip
