Going to the Church in Cleveland

Going to the Church in Cleveland

This past October, a contingent of about a dozen saints in Cleveland took the signs that show that abortion is murder to two churches near the abortion mills on Shaker Boulevard. We took the large graphic signs to the doors of the Church for not only is Scripture clear that God is looking for His people to repent (II Chron 7:14), but also says judgment begins with the House of God.

During our vigil, two saints were moved by the Holy Spirit to join St. Marks Baptist Church in their worship service. Their testimony follows:

"We responded and we worshipped with our brothers and sisters-we knew their welcome. The Pastor began to preach the Word and declared he had much to preach on, but was struck by the Pro-Lifers in front of the Church. He said if we had all remained in front of the Church, he would have exhorted his congregation to join hands with us to block the street in front of the Church to bring Truth to all the neighborhood!!!

As the anointing of the Holy Spirit fell on him, Pastor Kelley spoke with great conviction and passion. He was moved to great sorrow for the generations lost to the murder of abortion and spoke from Luke 6:46: "But why do you call Me 'Lord ,Lord,' and not do the things which I say?"

That day, we witnessed the amazing wonders brought forth when hearts and minds are obediently yielded to the Holy Spirit and the hope and victory that He brings!"

But God wasn't through with our mission He had planned! When we followed up with Pastor Kelley the following week, he graciously showed us around his church and opened it up to us for any meeting we would like to hold there in the future. Not wasting this precious opportunity, we asked if we could hold a pastor's breakfast meeting there when Flip comes in January and if he would invite his pastor friends. He readily agreed and we will be holding our first inter-racial pastor's meeting to address child-killing in our city and what we are called to do about it!

Additionally, Mary Ellen Urmin, Associate Director of Life Link, was invited by Pastor Kelley to speak at the Baptist Pastor's Council meeting where she exhorted the pastor's to speak up for the little ones and invited them to the breakfast. Afterwards, one of the pastors invited her to speak to 40 troubled teen-age women at the county detention facility where she will discuss the effects of abortion and the alternatives available. All this, from one single act of obedience! Praise God for His faithfulness!
