Precious Saints of the One True King,
On the front cover of Time magazine December 11, 1995 there appeared a picture of a beautiful little girl named Elisa Izquierdo. She was killed by her mother Awilda. The tears flowed freely as I realized what terror this precious little six year old suffered in her short life. She was forced to eat her own feces. She was turned upside down and used as a mop. She was sexually assaulted repeatedly with a toothbrush and a hair brush. Neighbors often heard her pleading, "Mommy, Mommy, please stop! No More! No more! I'm sorry!"
The title of the cover story, "A Shameful Death (let down by the system, murdered by her mom, a little girl symbolizes America's failure to protect its children)." Indeed, America has failed to protect her children. We have sown bloodshed in the womb and we are now reaping the horrible consequences of bloodshed outside the womb. Bloodshed always touches bloodshed. God cannot be mocked. Elisa and the multiple thousands like her are a sign to all of us that we are losing our children. It is a sign, for those who have eyes to see, that we are under the judgment of Almighty God.
The number one killer of children in this nation is their parents! What has happened to us?
Time Magazine self-righteously points its finger at the system, "...Elisa's case was known to the system (child-welfare) and the system shamefully failed her." So much for Time magazine's shared responsibility in this holocaust. "Its not our fault man, its the system."
Reverend Gianni Agostinelli, who did Elisa's funeral, came closer to the truth, "Elisa was not only killed by the hand of a sick individual, but by the impotence of the silence of many, by the neglect of child-welfare institutions and the moral mediocrity that has intoxicated our neighborhoods."
Jonathan Kozol in his December 11, essay for Time, "Spare Us the Cheap Grace", steals Dietrich Bonhoffer's quote and pleads for us to give more money to the child-welfare system so that qualified social workers can intervene and save the lives of our children. Incredibly, the drawing in the middle of his essay (an attempt to dramatize Kozol's point) was that of a bleeding child sacrificed on an altar. Mr. Kozol has eyes but he cannot see.
Time has stumbled upon one half of the truth. Our children are being savaged. Our whole nation is being savaged. The spirit of murder is running rampant through our streets. Time/Warner, however, has not a clue as to who is doing the savaging or what the solution is. It is simply parroting the same tired liberal whine that, "...money is the answer for everything." This is a biblical concept (Eccl 10:19) to be sure, but it is a sign of curse rather than blessing. Money isn't going to solve this problem.
In Hosea 4:6 we see that if we ignore God's law, He will ignore our children. It is a cause and effect kind of deal. "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge...Because you have ignored the law of your God, I will also ignore your children." This is not good news and it gets worse. "Even if they rear children, I will bereave them of every one. Woe to them when I turn away from them!...Ephraim will bring out their children to the slayer." (Hosea 9:12-13)
This is exactly what we are doing today. We are bringing our children to the slayer (abortionist) and paying him money to fix our little problem. We are killing our own children. We are paying to have it done. Is it any wonder that life has come to mean so little.
Little Elisa Izquierdo is a sign to all of us. God's righteous judgment is already being revealed. Susan Smith drowning little Alex and Michael in a South Carolina lake is a Sign. Mothers turning their unborn children over to the slayer (abortionist) is a SIGN. There is no amount of money; there is no governmental agency; there is no technology; there is no philosopher or philanthropist that can save us from this violence and terror. Our problem is with God Himself. Time magazine would have difficulty with this because it doesn't believe He exists.
Miscarriages are on the rise. Breast cancer is killing 40,000 women every year. Hosea 9:14 tells us that we should expect this if we turn our back to God, "...give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry." ( Hos 9:14). The exponential increase of breast cancer in this nation is a sign. The increase of miscarrying mothers is a Sign. We must pay closer attention to the signs God is giving us or the plight of little one's like Elisa will become worse.
"Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. Even if they bear children, I will slay their cherished offspring." (Hosea 9:16) We are losing our kids to abortion, drugs, gangs, violence, and suicide. There is no educational program; there is no political party; there is no public or private school; there is no scientific research or archaeological find that will extricate us from this curse. Mayor Marc Morial of New Orleans said it best, when referring to his city being named the murder capital of our nation, "I believe New Orleans is under a curse." It isn't only New Orleans that is under a curse. Our whole nation is under a curse. We have turned our backs on God's law and we are corporately suffering the horrible consequences of this action. There is only one answer:
JESUS CHRIST "...Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for His anger can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him." Ps 2:12
God is speaking to us through His judgments. They are painful signs that we have forgotten Him. "I also gave them over to statutes that were not good and laws they could not live by; I let them become defiled through their gifts - the sacrifice of every firstborn - that I might fill them with horror so they would know that I am the Lord." Ezek 20:25 He is filling us with horror, not to terrorize us, but that we might turn back to Him. That we might run to the true answer.
It is God's desire that this Valley of Achor (trouble) will become a door of hope. "...He is patient with you , not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Pt 2:9) He is the door! He is our hope! Turning to anyone else or anything else is foolish. There is no alternative. For the sake of our children we must return to Him. He will forgive our sin! He will heal our land! There is a balm in Gilead! His Name is Jesus!
Proclaiming this truth might get you into a little trouble, however.
Five of our wonderful friends, who love Jesus with all of their hearts, have been jailed in Melbourne, Florida. They dared pray and proclaim the Name of Jesus on a public sidewalk outside the "Aware Women" abortion mill. Rev. Keith Tucci, Dr. Pat McKewen, Eric Olson, Ray Unterburger, and Meredith Raney are all spending Christmas in the Brevard County Detention Center in Sharpes, Florida. These courageous saints rightly expressed Father's heart toward His children and have been jailed for it.
On November 16-18, Dr. Alan Keyes, Rev. Johnny Hunter, and Rev. Flip Benham joined together with the pro-life community in Brevard County, Florida to turn the hearts of fathers back to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers. The Christian Life Family Church hosted the event and brought over one hundred gentle warriors to the "Aware Women" child killing center. There were four turn aways, one save and many lives changed forever by Word of Life spoken there.
On November 18, over four hundred young college students from Liberty University made the 3 hour journey to Washington D. C. They purposed to allow their theology to become biography in the streets of our nation's capital. They paid their own way. They followed nothing but the call of Almighty God. Six were seriously injured in a multiple car accident but the army of the Lord continued on to D. C. They preached, they prayed, they praised, they brought honor to the Father her at the very "gates" of our nation. Then they went to the "gates" of hell (the local abortion mill) and confronted the enemy on his own nasty turf. They served notice that the Name of Jesus would once again be held in high esteem in this nation. "...may your offspring possess the gates of their enemies." (Gen 24:60)
These students are learning how to follow hard after Christ. They are following the footprints of those who have faithfully carried the cross of Christ before them. Thank you Pat Mahoney and Bob Jewett for helping our kids run to the roar. Thank you Keith, Pat, Eric, Ray, Merideth, and all who have laid down their lives because you realized you were bought with a very high price and that you no longer belong to yourselves.
November 30 - Dec 4 we had the privilege of joining with "Living Word Ministries," "Gospel Light Community Church" and "Jesus Saves Ministries" to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to life in the streets of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Well over one hundred precious Christians approached the "gates" of hell, Summit abortuary. One life was saved. Praise God! 335 children have been saved from this abortuary in the past six years. More than 270 folks have met Christ at the doorstep of this mill. Security guards have given their hearts to Jesus and are now working for the Lord. The Summit abortuary is absolutely defenseless against the Gospel of Christ.
Perhaps this is the reason that both the State Attorney General and our beloved Attorney General, Janet Reno, have filed F. A. C. E. charges against three wonderful Christian witnesses. The message of the Gospel is simply too powerful and the "gates" of hell are being pushed back. "They overcame him (satan) by the blood of the lamb, by the word of their testimony, not loving their own lives so much as to shrink from death."
1996 will present to us an unparalleled opportunity to fight the battle that began in the Garden and will culminate with the victorious return of Jesus! He is returning as conqueror. He won't be riding on a donkey. He will be returning on a white horse and on his head will be many crowns. He will be dressed in a robe dipped in blood. On His robe and on His thigh this Name will be written: "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS." The armies of heaven - all of those who have gone before us and faithfully held to the testimony of Jesus - will be riding with Him! What a Day! WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY!
We Are heading to Chicago for "Holy Week Passion for Life" April 1-6, 1996. Pastor Kirk Heldreth has invited us. Joe Scheidler has said he is ready. We are going in the Name of Jesus to glorify His Name, establish the TRUTH, and provide little children a defense. Bring your family. Train up your children in the way they should go. Some things are better caught than taught. Teach them to fear nothing but God and allow them to witness for themselves what it means to follow hard after Christ. There are some things that school simply cannot teach. Bring them to the battlefield and let them experience for themselves the marvelous and miraculous works of Almighty God.
