Precious brothers and sisters,

SAN DIEGO POLICE ASK ABORTIONISTS TO TAKE A VACATION

We pray it will be a permanent vacation! God is already making a way for us as we prepare to allow our theology to become biography in the streets of San Diego, August 9th-17th. The police have asked every abortion provider in San Diego to take a vacation during that week. They know we are coming.

This has created a media frenzy from the New York Times to the Chicago Tribune to the LA Times. It has created in us a thankful heart for the mighty things God can do when His people walk by faith.

"The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion." Pr 28:1

This is reminiscent of the miracle that took place in New Orleans during Holy Week April 9-16, 1995. Christians came to the murder capital of our nation to stand in the gap for our preborn brothers and sisters. All seven abortion mills closed for the week. There was not one murder in an abortion mill and there was not one murder in the streets. There is a direct correlation. Hallelujah!

"...Bloodshed touches bloodshed..." (Hos 4:2) If we shed innocent blood in the womb of mothers we will reap what we sow outside of the womb. If our desire is to stop the violence and bloodshed presently savaging our land, we must stop shedding innocent blood inside the womb.

The murder rate in New Orleans dropped 50% in the month of April, 1995 and 17% for the year 1995. It is no longer the murder capital of our nation. Newspapers all over the country have prognosticated about what New Orleans had done to better fight violent crime. We know the real answer and it has to do with this: "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stand guard in vain." Ps 127:1

Do it again Lord, in San Diego!

THE INFAMOUS BROCHURE: SELLING A BIRTHRIGHT

We hope you enjoyed receiving the brochure "Republican Party: Selling a birthright for a mess of pottage". We have received huge amounts of mail concerning it. Many have noted the brochure does not give an outline of what to do if Bill Clinton and Bob Dole are the only choices on the November ballot. We don't know the answer to that yet because we don't know what God will do between now and November. We simply know that He is speaking and that He desires His people to hear.

One thing for sure. Our hope is in Christ, not in the Republican Party. If you haven't seen this yet, our prayers are with you. We have been called out of darkness to represent His glorious light. We will never be able to do this through the murky veil of "mainstream conservatism". "Mainstream conservatism" will not tolerate Christianity. No way! Just listen to the way "mainstream conservatives" responded to Pat Buchanan's early Primary wins: "We will never support Pat Buchanan. We will vote for Bill Clinton first." So much for tolerance.

"MAINSTREAM CONSERVATISM" MUST NEVER BE CONFUSED WITH CHRISTIANITY

"Mainstream conservatism" is inclusive (pluralistic). Christianity is exclusive (though Christ died for all, there is only ONE WAY - not many ways). "Mainstream conservatism" demands tolerance. Christianity demands righteousness. "Mainstream conservatism" seeks unholy alliances to build coalition. Christianity seeks to stand alone relying upon Almighty God only. "Mainstream conservatism" calls for reasonable compromise. Christianity calls for steadfast reliance upon Scriptural principle.

Marshall Foster of the Mayflower Institute, has noted that over a hundred years ago the great theologian R.L. Dabney foresaw the direction of American conservatism: "American conservatism is merely the shadow that follows Radicalism (modern liberalism) as it moves forward to perdition. It remains behind it but never retards it, and always advances near its leader. This pretended salt hath utterly lost its savor; wherewith shall it be salted? Its impotency is not hard to explain. It is worthless because it is a conservatism of expediency only, and not of sturdy principle. It intends to risk nothing serious for the sake of the truth, and has no idea of the folly of martyrdom."

"Mainstream conservatism" is either pretend salt or salt that has lost its saltiness but it must never be confused with Christianity.

Our God had strong words for His church in Laodicea: "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm - neither hot nor cold - I am about to spit you out of my mouth." (Rev 3:15-16)

The cold hearted cannot bring God's Name into disrepute. As a matter of fact, they help make the distinction between good and evil even clearer. It is the lukewarm (the salt that has lost its savor) that drags God's name into the dirt. "Mainstream conservatism" fits in right here with the Laodicean Church. The lukewarm are double minded and muddy the stream for many.

Dabney was right when he called conservatism pretend salt. It looks like salt. It talks like salt. But it is less than nothing and worse because it brings false hope.

We have worked hard to elect Republican Presidents, who enjoyed the strong backing of the Church of Jesus Christ, yet they have done very little for our Lord's precious image bearers. The number of abortions done in our nation during the Reagan and Bush administrations increased. They were a false hope.

The same is true with congressman we elected only to find them screaming at us to be patient while they worked the political process. They used God's Name, though they rarely used His specific Name, JESUS. They prayed in His Name. They attended the prayer breakfasts. They fellowship with God's people. They were seen in His Church. They looked like His salt. They may even have been His salt but the salt had lost its savor. It was good for nothing. They were a false hope.

"Mainstream conservatism" sees the battle that is dividing and devastating our nation as one that can be compromised with a little bit more of this or a little bit less of that. It cannot and does not see the life and death struggle between good and evil (the seed of the serpent vs. the seed of the woman). "Mainstream conservatism" is blinding the Church of Jesus Christ to the true nature of the battle we Christians have been called to fight. It is causing us to lay down the "foolishness of the cross" and pick up the pragmatism of politics. It is a false hope.

"Mainstream conservatism" must never be confused with Christianity. It is either pretend salt, or salt that has lost its savor. Though on the surface it may appear courageous and principled, it seeks to compromise rather than fight. It holds to a few biblical principles while trading others off. Principle takes a back seat to pragmatism. Form replaces substance. The cross of Christ is emptied of its power.

Rush Limbaugh supported Kay Bailey Hutchison's run for the US Senate in the state of Texas. We pleaded with him not to support her because of her pro-death stance. He still plugged her candidacy on national radio and television because she was a Republican and a fiscal conservative.

Who cares about the lives of children so long as we get a conservative in, right Rush? Jesus cares and so do we!

Newt Gingrich wants Gary Bauer to stop "nit picking" Bob Dole and get on the bandwagon to support him in his run for the presidency. This "nit picking" of course has to do with Gary's principled stand for Christ and the children.

This is what is tearing at our hearts as we consider the upcoming election this November. We have no one, No One, NO ONE who will stand squarely where Jesus stands. We are not looking for someone who is perfect. We are looking for someone who will unashamedly and without compromise represent the heart of Almighty God to our nation. This is the cry of our hearts and this is why we are going to San Diego August 9-17, 1996.

Men like Gary Bauer and Dr. Dobson will never fit into "mainstream conservatism" because they are Christians. They are real salt. They speak for the True King. "Mainstream conservatism" seeks to hide men like these under a bushel. It will not and cannot tolerate true Christianity.

If you don't believe me just ask Bob Dole. He is so broadminded and tolerant he has invited pro-death Republican Susan Molinari to be the keynote speaker at the Republican National Convention. For those of you waiting to see whether Mr. Dole will select a pro life VP or if the Republican party will keep its pro life plank, stop waiting. The Republican party has already chosen. It has chosen "mainstream conservatism" over Christ. Pretend salt has taken precedence over real salt. It will never stand squarely for the children being slaughtered in our land by abortion.

We cannot fight the enemy of our souls by compromising with him. He always wins when we are foolish enough to believe we can beat him at his own game. We win when we fight him straight up in the Name of Jesus.

This is precisely what we are going to do in San Diego. Join us as we present a Y in the road for the Republican Party. REVIVAL OR DEATH!

SEE YOU IN SAN DIEGO!

In Christian love,

Flip
