Justice Rheinquist's Order

On Saturday morning, January 24, the battle between two seeds manifested itself again as over 100 gentle Christians took the battle to the gates of hell in D.C. - The Capitol City Womens Center. We were met by about 50 pro-aborts, scads of D.C. policemen, FBI agents, federal marshals, and the mobile command unit. This was becoming a very common site for us. Theology became biography as 14 precious Christians laid their lives down for their preborn brothers and sisters in front of the abortion mill door. They were arrested and jailed, but their lives became living parables rightly expressing God's heart toward children in a city where more children are aborted than are born. "Greater love have no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command." John 15:13-14.

Postlude: God in His awesome grace has now permanently closed the Capitol City Women's Center!

The bad news is that we have been charged with a civil violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Law by the United States Department of Justice. But the bad news is really good news because Jesus told us it would be this way when a nation turns its back on Almighty God: "But before all this, they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. This will result in your being witnesses to them." Lk 21:12-13

Our final assault on the gates of hell took place at the Foundry United Methodist Church on Sunday Morning, January 25. This is the home church of Bill and Hilary Clinton. The irony was not lost upon us that the week of the 25th memorial of Roe v. Wade was also the week that the Monica Lewinsky scandal was exposed. This was the beginning of the unraveling of the most pro-abortion President this nation has ever had. We confronted his pastor Phillip Wogaman with the fact that he has failed to love this president in the true biblical sense of the word. We had confronted this pastor on two previous occasions over the issue of the slaughter of innocent children (Wogaman believes it is a woman's choice) in January 1996 and his endorsement of homosexuality (Wogaman believes one can be a Christian and a practicing homosexual) in January 1997. In 1998 we confronted him over the fact that he aided and abetted President Clinton's adulterous life-style by not loving him enough to bring him face to face with his sinful behavior. We stayed for Wogaman's sermon that Sunday morning and heard him gloss over the President's minor gaff by showing us that David, a man after God's own heart, was deeply fallen and yet deeply forgiven. All of this is true of course except Wogaman left out the horrible consequences of David's sin on himself, his family and his nation.

No man sins alone without it having an effect on others. Certainly, when a national leader sins it has far reaching consequences on those who are governed by him. When those in authority over us are failing morally the enemy of our souls has one more offense in his continuous assault on God's people.
