McGlade (13) - Bradenton, Fl.
My name is Anthony McGlade. I am thirteen years old. I was adopted when I was three and half years old into the McGlade family. Before I was adopted, I was not what you would call a nice little boy. I lied; I stole; I swore; I was completely disobedient! I was a mess! I didn't know right from wrong. But God saved me. He took me away from that lost place and put me in a home that would help me live for Him. After a few years of prayer, love, and discipline (and a thousand spankings), I was transformed. I thank God for Mom and Dad, and brothers and sister, who loved me enough to persevere until there was victory. I thank God for my birth mom who loved me enough to give me up. I always say that God knew all along that I was going to be a McGlade, I just came into the world a different way. What really helped me the most in my Christian walk was standing up for Him at the "gates". I remember one of the first times that my family went to the abortion mill. I was about four. I couldn't believe that people actually went in there to kill their babies. I was so upset when I saw a lady going in; I shouted as loud as I could, "Don't kill your baby!" I was broken-hearted when she seemed to ignore me and continued to walk into the mill. Then in, what seemed like seconds, she walked back out. One of my friends came and said, "Anthony, you saved a baby. She heard you call out and she said that it broke her heart!" I was overjoyed that I could actually make a difference! God could actually use me! I thank the Lord that He went to such efforts to save
me! But because of this, I know that I have a great responsibility to
serve Him. "To whom much is given, much is required". I pray
that I will stay on the course and obey Him even to the end. He has never
failed me. I pray that I never fail Him! |
