Jessica Case -
Bradenton, Fl.
When I was 16 years old, I believed that my family and I were living the good Christian life. We went to church every week, Wednesday and Sunday - never missing Sunday school. My parents raised us in a sheltered home; we were told very little about abortion. I believed it was a sin, but did not think more about it than that. Then, Tom and Linda McGlade came to our youth group one night to share with us the truth about abortion. They showed the video, the "Hard Truth", and explained how their family fought on the front lines. I saw that they actually laid their lives down to follow Christ. They encouraged us to stand for the truth, as well, and to fight against the enemy. They told us that we did not have to be older for God to use us - just willing. That night God broke my heart, and I knew that I was going to serve him differently from then on. I knew the truth now, and there was no going back. What I could not get over was that I had always thought the purpose of a doctor was to heal and to care for life, I couldn't believe there were those who would violently take the lives of innocent babies who had no defense. God continued to break my heart and to show me how many other things there were to fight against. He showed me how important it was to be in the Bible and to be willing to serve Him - whatever the cost. By being involved with O.S.A. and the McGlade family growing up, I have learned so much. I have learned how to speak the truth in love; how not to be afraid; and to die to my flesh. Because I have learned these things, when temptation arises, I am able to be strong in the Lord to resist it. I thank the Lord that I was held accountable to read my Bible faithfully. This has helped me to realize who God wants me to be as a wife and mother. I am now twenty-five years old, and I have been married for almost four years. My husband, Chris, and I now have a son, Mica Egan Case, who is a year and eight months old. Together, Chris and I, along with our brothers and sisters in Christ, we are actively standing for righteousness. It is our prayer that we raise our children to be warriors for Him. I praise God that He opened my eyes to the truth, and that He gave me a chance to serve Him and to lay my life down. I am the person I am today because I was righteously challenged to do so!
