"I am come that they may have LIFE ..." Sanctuary Update Amalie didn't want to be pregnant. She started snorting coke (approximately once a week) hoping that the drug would cause a miscarriage. When the baby survived all these months, Amalie was scared. She worried that the cocaine had caused the baby to be deformed. To complicate matters Amalie's boyfriend has been happily anticipating the birth of their child and was entirely unaware of Amalie's cocaine use and the plans she had to kill their baby. She opened up the telephone book and found the big, attractive ad for Orlando Women's Center abortion clinic. She arrived for an appointment on Tuesday. No Christians were there to reach out to her in her dilemma. The friendly abortionist did an ultrasound and told Amalie that she was 24 weeks pregnant. Amalie was told that they would be happy to kill her viable child. In a very straightforward, matter-of-fact manner an Orlando Women's Center (OWC) employee informed Amalie that she would have to pay $2200 to have a labor-and-delivery abortion. Amalie was instructed to return at 1pm the following day (Wednesday) to have the abortionist kill her baby with a lethal injection of digoxin. The clinic employee explained that the abortionist would stick a needle through her abdomen. Guided by ultrasound, the abortion doctor would pierce her womb and carefully inject Digoxin into her baby's heart. Hopefully this would stop her baby's heart and make certain that her viable infant would not be born alive. Amalie would be given pills (a stomach ulcer medication called Cytotec). She would be instructed to take some at midnight and more in the morning. Amalie was told that she would have to return to the abortion clinic on Thursday morning at 9am . They would give her more Cytotec every hour, softening her cervix and inducing her labor. Amalie was told that her labor would take anywhere from 12-36 hours. Her infant would be delivered and then she could go home. (They would dispose of her baby's body.) For some reason, Amalie just couldn't bring herself to go to the clinic on Wednesday, so when we met her, her baby was very much alive. We met 23 year old Amalie in the driveway of Orlando Women's Center this morning. Amalie confessed that she was there to abort her baby. Amalie was up all night thinking about what she was about to do. She finally fell asleep at 5am . After only 2 hours of sleep Amalie got up to give the children breakfast. After dropping them off at school, she made her way to Orlando Women's Center. As she was driving up Columbia St Amalie began to sob. When she turned right onto Lucerne Terrace, Amalie began to pray. "Oh God, what am I doing? I'm such a mess! God please help me!" We offered Amber a free ultrasound in the wonderful mobile unit generously loaned to us by Face Life ( www.FaceLife.org) which we have strategically parked directly in front of the clinic). were able to get some great views of Amalie's baby. We saw the baby suck her tiny thumb and wiggle all around in her watery home. Amalie laughed and said: “This baby has been kicking and kicking for the last 24 hours. I think this baby knows what I was planning to do.” Amalie seems to have had a genuine change of heart. Mark was careful to introduce Amalie to the only One who can forgive her sin and bring her safely through this life and into the next. We prayed with Amalie and gave her a powerful book of scriptures to light her path. We also gave her pre-natal vitamins and a handmade beaded bracelet to remind her of God's kind providence in answering her cry for help. Finally, we gave Amalie her own little Gospel of John. We called Heritage Family Practice in Kissimmee and Amalie made an appointment for tomorrow morning. We are more than happy to offer Amalie our friendship and support through her pregnancy, but we need your help. Do you live in the Hoffner area of Orlando ? That's where Amalie lives. Even if it would be a little bit of a drive, please consider sacrificing some time and making a new friend. Remember, we cannot minister to women like Amalie unless YOU and your church are willing to be a part of the holy circle of LIFE that surrounds these precious women and their children. You will be suprised to know that sometimes no one responds to our urgent requests for friends and mentors for the pregnant women and their companions. No one. Can we trust you to partner with us for the life of Amalie's child for all the other children the Lord graciously allows us to reach by our labor of direct action outside Orlando 's most notorious abortion clinic? In the last month God has used our sidewalk counseling to help convince six women NOT to take the life of their baby. Thanks in advance for being willing to commit to offer compassionate and holy friendship to pregnant women. I'm sad to say that three other late term abortions DID take place today in Orlando: *+* 14 year old Sofrita arrived with her mom. Clutching her abdomen, the teen barely made it inside the clinic before her baby was delivered into the toilet of the abortion clinic. Sofrita's mom justified the fact that she'd made her daughter kill this infant: "I know this is horrible, but my daughter is a baby herself. She only just turned 14." *+* Candace *+* arrived with her boyfriend Ted. They refused to speak with us and wouldn't take our wonderful ministry packet. They casually signed in to have her labor-and-delivery abortion. *+* Louise *+* was determined to murder her viable infant. She felt lucky to live in Orlando , the city that does two thirds of all late term abortions in the state of Florida . Louise simply picked up the phone and dialed the number to the abortion clinic. They were more than happy to take her money and her child. Because most of you have never SEEN what happens each week on late abortion day in Orlando, I'm attaching a photo of Little Mary . In November of 1999 Little Mary's mommy killed her daughter at Orlando Women's Center when she was half way through pregnancy. When you look at Little Mary (20 weeks gestation) , think of Sofrita and Candace and Louise's infants. Remember the thousands and thousands of infants who continue to perish in our city. Friends, we don't know how many of the babies being aborted today were born alive and left to drown . Even now as I write Louise may be pushing her baby into the toilet. Shouldn't we all be willing to stand up in visible defense for the 10,000 infants who are slaughtered by abortion each year? Don't these infants deserve to be made a priority over the many other activities of the Church? The ministry of presence is a matter of life of death. I pray that you take this responsibility seriously and offer to come with us, until the slaughter ends. How about tomorrow? In the Field of Souls, <//>< Come with Me and I will make you fishers of men. <//><
Abortionist: Frank Rodriguez No music today. The moms began to come for their appointments at 7:30 a.m. this morning. Pleasant was on the war path today. He set out to confiscate something today and that he did. Your tax dollars paid for Sgt. Bernhardt to park across the street and observe us. We were able to speak with two Latino men that had dropped someone off this morning. One of them did enter the abortuary to get the Mom out of there however he feared the abortion had already taken place. The two men initially did not know that this was an abortuary. Fr. West also spoke with the men. Protesters condemn abortion clinic arson By Patty Pensa Staff Writer July 25, 2004 Lake Worth · In a rally both political and passionate, a group of activists gathered in front of City Hall on Saturday to denounce the recent arson at an abortion clinic. "We're here because we're angry," said Shirley Herman, treasurer of the North Palm Beach chapter of the National Organization for Woman. "This is a kind of terrorism. It's an attack on women's right to choose." On July 2, a fire destroyed WomanCare Centers of Florida Birth Control Center, 1622 N. Federal Highway. Police later said the fire was intentionally set. No one was hurt but the center was shut down and patient records were destroyed. Police have no suspects but the investigation, which includes federal and state agencies, continues, Sgt. Dan Boland said. "We need to fight for our right, especially with the current administration," Kim Guzma, North Palm Beach NOW president, said about the Bush administration. Bush has signed legislation to ban late-term abortions and to endow a fetus with legal rights. Some fear if Bush is re-elected he will fill Supreme Court vacancies with justices intent on overturning the 1973 Roe vs. Wade ruling that made abortion legal. More than 30 people attended the rally. Guzma said the group would have rallied sooner, but members were at the NOW national convention in Las Vegas last weekend. Also at the rally were Lake Worth Mayor Rodney Romano; state Rep. Susan Bucher, D-Royal Palm Beach; and representatives of Planned Parenthood and Compass, the county's gay and lesbian community- and social-service center. "When anyone decides to break the law and force their views on others, we will catch them," Romano said. Bucher, too, took a hard line against the Bush administration, saying it is trying to erode Roe vs. Wade by taking money away from family planning. "It's unfortunate that we're opening health facilities in Baghdad and closing them in Boynton Beach and Lake Worth," she said. In the past week, NOW collected $1,500 for Emergency Medical Assistance Inc., a nonprofit group that offers financial assistance to women who cannot afford an abortion. Connie Kurtz, 68, and her life partner Ruth Berman, 70, came to the rally to defend a woman's right to choose. "I'm standing up and I'm being counted that I'm against violence," said Kurtz, who lives in Century Village in West Palm Beach. Berman, also of Century Village, said they would make sure the clinic re-opens. WomanCare owner Tammy Sobieski has said she is looking for a new clinic location in the West Palm Beach area. Before the fire, anti-abortion activists had come to the clinic weekly to protest. The same thing happens at the Presidential Women's Center in West Palm Beach, said Jill Larkin, 19, a volunteer escort at the center. About 31 activists came on Saturday, Larkin said. The activists frighten the women coming to the women's center by videotaping them and calling to them, Larkin said. "I think it's because it's a male-dominated society," said Larkin of Lake Worth. Planned Parenthood Submitted by Meredith Raney - If you have yet to see what Planned Parenthood is pushing this week. It is actually something that will help us to minister to women that have had abortions if anyone of them would wear the shirt http://store.yahoo.com/ppfastore/ihadabt.html Need help? Send your question to store@ppfa.org. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ July 3, 2004 Thank you, Lord that I was a wanted baby. My mom and dad dreamt of having children. They tried to start a family for seven years, then it happened. This morning, Jesus, we met lots of mommies and daddies who don't want to be mommies and daddies. They don't view the conception of their child as a happy and blessed event. Because America does what she pleases not what pleases You, our laws and our churches allow these parents to kill their helpless infants. It was hard this morning, Lord. We saw 18 moms and dads have abortions today. Many of the women and men who murdered their babies this morning go to church. They say they know You, Jesus. They say that they know that You suffered and bled and died for sinners like them. They are glad that You forgive them when they kill their babies. Today is my birthday, Jesus. I'm 48 years old. I have a birthday prayer: Oh Lord, I give thanks to you for my life. ARCHIVES
