The Pro-Life definition has changed.
The pro-life industry, just like the abortion industry, will do all in its power to maintain itself. At least the abortion industry is honest enough to come right out and say that a woman’s right to choose eclipses a child’s right to live. The pro-life industry, on the other hand, says it is doing all it can to save the lives of preborn children and then deliberately sabotages the only piece of legislation that stands forthrightly upon the Word of God declaring all children “Persons” from biological beginnings. Why? Because the Pro-life industry is far more concerned with self-preservation than the preservation of those it has sworn to protect. ~ Flip
……………………..
Mississippi’s 2011 Vote Validates Flip’s Claim: For many years Flip Benham has said that abortion is only legal because those who say they are pro-life Christians won’t try to end it. But how do you prove that? Easy: take a statewide vote and see what happens when such pro-life “leaders” oppose personhood. Yes Amendment 26 received 42% of the vote! This doubles the conventional wisdom of the pro-life industry that 15% to 20% of the public would support a total abortion ban. Yet this doubling was achieved even against opposition from the pro-life governor, the Catholic Church, and National Right To Life. During the decades that the 15% claim was used to discourge efforts to fight for personhood, that argument assumed that if the entire pro-life movementcampaigned for the God-given right to life of the child, still, we might only get 20% of the vote. Yet 30% of liberal Colorado and 42% of Mississippi voted to end all child killing! And this is with much OPPOSITION from these pro-life “leaders.” So what would be the result if they actually supported the effort to legally recognize the child from conception? Unless the Roman Catholic Bishops, and pro-life Republican leaders, and the pro-life industry groups, want to claim that combined they have virtually no public influence whatsoever, it is clear that the additional 8% for victory could have come easily if they had courageously campaigned to uphold the sanctity of the child’s life. “Mississippi’s 42% clearly validates Flip Benham’s claim that the only reason that abortion is legal is because ‘pro-lifers’ don’t care to end it,” says American RTL’s director of research Darrell Birkey. “As Flip says, abortion will end in America when those who call themselves pro-life Christians want it to end.”
Our brother Chet shares his heart and the heart of our heavenly Father in a unique perspective of what happened as the Church of Jesus Christ in Mississippi failed to do what only she can do – storm the gates of hell so that they will not prevail!
Pray and think upon this. ~Flip
Many of you, dear friends and more, have interceded passionately, crying out to God for the personhood efforts here in Mississippi to succeed. All of us “on the ground” want to thank you for doing so faithfully. Surely God is pleased with your cries to heaven on behalf of the least of His. I was not surprised to receive many messages, phone calls, and e-mails this morning after the announcement last night that the smallest and most helpless baby boys and girls in Mississippi would continue to be crushed within their mothers womb. I told Flip that I was grieving both for the babies who will die day after day and also for the church members who welcomed and embraced the enemies’ stratagems. Tens of thousands here drank in every implausible argument to justify their defiance of the Word of God, casting their vote to let the killing continue unabated. “God is not mocked…”
On Monday, Fox news reported accurately our declaration that “It’s always a baby…it’s always been a baby…it will always be a baby and there’s never a good reason to kill an innocent child in the womb.” Still abortion would ultimately not end in Mississippi, where it began first in 1966, due largely to the complicity and/or inaction of the church. So often I heard these words from those naming the name of Jesus, “I’m prolife but this bill confuses me.” “I can’t vote for this because I’ll lose my birth control and IVF will be banned.” Only 48 hours ago I had discovered a verse I’d never seen, Isaiah 59:4 says in the NKJV: “No one calls for justice, Nor does [any] plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity,” and so the reason this evil was “conceived” and iniquity was brought forth is because, rather than choosing His Words of life, they chose to “trust in” empty words or as the NASB translates, “trust in confusion.”
Still many God fearing believers prayed and passed out tens of thousands of pieces of literature denouncing the deceit; in fact, we were privileged to have over 70 friends come here to Mississippi from 14 states join us in the final days. In the end all we could do was to cry out to God and so on election day I invited Ron Duhe, my stalwart 70 year old comrade, to join me in one final day’s intercession. Rising early on Tuesday we drove through all seven southern Mississippi counties that we’d first petitioned in together nearly two years earlier. We determined to pray “on-site with insight” traveling to every polling place we could reach from 7 AM to 7 PM. We believed it was all we had left we could do, and found it to be a liberating and Spirit empowering 12 hours of intercession!
We certainly stumble along the way, even may question the outcome of our labor for Him; still He allows us to finish strong, imparting confidence to go from this place better equipped than ever to fight this good fight of faith. Montana, Nevada, Colorado, Ohio, Florida, Oklahoma and more are before us AND…you are invited to “just show up” on the next battleground. Make no mistake I do not minimize the significant tragedy of this defeat, nor the casualties that will follow, but let these words of William Wilberforce challenge you and me to move forward, pressing tenaciously toward the prize of ending the slaughter:
“So enormous, so dreadful, so irremediable did the trade’s wickedness appear that my own mind was completely made up for abolition. Let the consequences be what they would: I from this time determined that I would never rest until I had effected its abolition.”
No King but King Jesus!
Doug Huband is a good friend of mine. He is a great writer and deep theological thinker. He brings what happened in Mississippi yesterday to the fore. He does it by a very short satire.
Note: In the satire, it was the Israelites not the Philistines that were the biggest impediments to the passage of Amendment 26.

Sad…
Philistine-Educated Israelites Vote To Suppress Truth. Philistines Rejoice
In a surprise to many yesterday, the vast majority of Israelites in the land of Mississippi voted down a change to the ruling Philistine’s Constitution. The amendment, which stated in part, “The LORD is God Almighty. His Moral Laws must be obeyed. Among these are: ‘Thou Shalt not Kill the Innocent,’ ” was handily defeated.
Philistines rejoiced at the news of the amendment’s defeat. “Yes! The killings will continue! Let’s party!” exclaimed one Philistine woman. Many Israelites were also relieved. “Our birth-suppression choices would have been limited by this terrible amendment,” sobbed one Israelite husband. “And what about MY RIGHT to life?!” exclaimed an indignant Israelitess. “Sure, everyone knows a unique human life begins at fertilization, but who really cares about that?”
Philistine leaders promised more social welfare programs to the majority Israelites, provided they continue to support the Philistine ruling class. Education is a key component to the Philistine agenda. “Please, by all means, keep sending your children to our schools,” said one Philistine leader. “And don’t listen to your crazy prophets and turn off your Philistine televisions and actually start educating them yourselves. Everyone already knows this would be a foolish waste of your precious time and resources.” He continued, “We taught you and your parents well, and we will continue to give your children the best education that your tribute to us can buy.”
But the Israelite prophets, though reviled and ignored by many of their own people, vowed to continue the fight. “We will never give up the Truth of our God,” one prominent prophet declared as he boldly preached before the Temple of Dagon. “We will never give in to the deception and lies of the Philistines.” Then he lifted his eyes to heaven and said the following, though his words were barely audible, “Father, forgive your people.” Then He cried out, “For they do not yet understand what they have done to YOU!”
Here is Chet’s call for all of us to be in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Mississippi who are storming the gates of hell (abortion) in the strong Name of Jesus. The “Personhood” vote on (Amendment 26) is today.
Pray that God will loose from heaven what already has been loosed in the state of Mississippi. Faith in God’s Word, and God’s Word alone. The Sword of the Spirit has been unsheathed by the saints in Mississippi. Now, Lord God, watch over Your Word to perform it in Jesus’ magnificent Name. ~ Flip
We needed a final days effective strategy. We are not going to be “working” the polls or just “going” to the polls or recruiting folks to “get” to the polls. We encourage many who can to do so. But today, my partner in prayer, Ron Duhe, who first joined me in Mississippi on Jan 23rd 2009, is joining me today to “PRAY THE POLLS.”
We will strive to run this race to the very end today, running from polling place to polling place, from seven AM to seven PM in the seven southern Mississippi Counties we have worked since our arrival. We’ve been privileged to petition together, speak to pastors and churches together, walk the streets together, sing and cry out and rejoice together and we have prayed often together for the shedding on innocent blood to end.
I can’t think of one thing we haven’t done that has been productive and we have been praying all along. But I am not convinced I have prayed enough, so that’s what I must ensure is done on this final day. But not just praying in this Mississippi cottage. Nope, we are going out to pray my favorite way: “Praying ON-SITE with INSIGHT.” Like the murder mills where babies die, these are the last place where Christians and others will enter. Will they choose life or death? I want them to see us praying they will choose life!
So pray for us and please send this to every Mississippian you know.
Jesus is King and we must serve Him!
Chet Gallagher
The history here of how abortion began in Mississippi fully seven years before Roe v. Wade,is remarkable. The “seed of the serpent” is the ultimate incrementalist. We are not ignorant of the devil’s schemes and we know that one little word will fell him – Jesus! How awesome and marvelous is our task to stand upon God’s Word in times such as these.
Thank You Jesus! ~ Flip
Why was it important for us to be here, of all places, in Mississippi?
What Started Here Ends Here
Initiative 26 To Reverse Mississippi’s Abortion Role
Here’s an important lesson in America’s abortive history: Mississippi was the first to start legalizing abortion (incrementally) and will be the first to end it (entirely.)
Jackson, MS 11-4-11 – America’s abortion holocaust began in Mississippi on May 8, 1966.
Forty-five years ago Mississippi became the first state to decriminalize the killing of a child by an abortionist. The “exception” for rape marked for death children who allegedly did not deserve the protection of law. A 3,500-year-old legal principle distinguishing civilization from barbarism was that “children shall not be put to death for the crimes of their fathers.” Throwing aside this foundation of due process and equal protection under the law, our state opened up the floodgates of America’s holocaust in which abortionists nationwide have now killed more than 50 million children.
The approval of (see it here:) House Bill 562 in 1966 and its taking effect 30 days later on June 8, 1966, put a so-called exception into state law defining “abortion” as “a felony unless the… pregnancy was caused by rape.” In the seven years before Roe v. Wade, 19 states began the decriminalization of child killing by permitting abortion for various reasons, tragically beginning with Mississippi (and followed by Colorado, California, Oregon, North Carolina, New York, Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Virginia). It is false to claim that “Roe ushered in the age of abortion,” for it was the states, with Mississippi first, which began the process that expanded as far as New York allowing abortion on demand through six months.
Now the states must end what the states unleashed. If it was a state’s right to begin it, it must therefore be a state’s right to end it.
While the ancient Code of Hammurabi legislated the killing of children for the crimes of their fathers (as in Hammurabi laws 210, 230, and 116), America’s Judeo-Christian legal heritage corrected this injustice. For the Law of Moses states at Deuteronomy 24:16, “Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall the children be put to death for their fathers…” A Hebrew prophet affirmed this, writing, “The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son…” at Ezekiel 18:20.
Personhood corrects the cruelty and grave injustice brought about by Mississippi declaring some children unworthy of protection. Please Vote Yes on 26 on Tuesday so every baby can be protected by love and by law.
What started here ends here.
This just in from Coach Dave Daubenmire who is helping Chet Gallagher and the saints in the state of Mississippi to pass, “Initiative 26 (the Personhood Initiative), on November 8, 2011. This two minute video exposes the true nature of the battle they are fighting. The diabolical deception, fraud, and large money, the devil is hurling at them are all meant to waylay, detour, and dissuade them from continuing their march to tear down the devil’s stronghold in Mississippi. God help them to carry on in Jesus’ Name! ~ Flip
The folks for Personhood Mississippi are on the move. With the Gubernatorial candidates from both parties signing on to it, it appear that Mississippi might be the first state in our Union to move into law that a child is a person, no matter how small. ~ Flip
“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.” — I Kings 18:21
Friends of Personhood,
Nov 8 will be a day of choosing for Mississippi (and by extension, the whole nation) like none other in our history. One one hand, we will be answering one very simple question:
Does life begin at conception?
That is the ONLY thing that will be on the ballot. Not all these side issues and distractions.
However, on the other hand, we will also be voting on who we are. Who & what we will believe. Will we believe God, science, and common sense or will we continue to believe the Planned Parenthood worldview?
The starkness of this choice is set forth very clearly in a letter I received from Dr John Adams who is a medical doctor and a pastor.
Below is the initial draft of the letter. It is so powerful and timely, that I wanted to share it with you as originally sent. It is aimed at pastors, but it needs to be read by every Mississippi voter – particularly those who claim the Name of Christ.
If you have mid week services tonight, please print and share with your pastor and every member of your congregation. And, please forward to every pastor and Christian you know.

Dear Pastor,
I am writing to urge you to take this possibly once in a lifetime opportunity to stand in the gap for the weakest and most vulnerable members of our society. On November 8, 2011 the voters of Mississippi will cast their ballots on Amendment 26 giving unborn children the status of personhood from the moment of conception.
This amendment will make abortion illegal in Mississippi. I am asking as a physician concerned about the health of Mississippians and as a Christian concerned about their souls, that you put your support from the pulpit behind this amendment.
As you are well aware, as a pastor you carry a very high level of respect and influence with your congregation as well as a higher accountability to God. They look to you to point them in the direction to go in order to better reflect the image of Jesus Christ. As the lead figures in todays Church, pastors must speak boldly to move the people of God to action and out of apathy in a secular culture.
The voice of Christians will define this amendment as a thing that glorifies God and a defeat of the abomination that is the abortion industry.
If this amendment does not pass, it will not be due to the efforts of the godless but because of the apathy and complacency of professing Christians. Please help the members of your church family rise to the calling they profess. If you believe abortion is “just plain wrong”, then stopping it through the peaceful democratic process we have in this nation is “just plain right”.
You and your congregation have the freedom to vote yes or no. But please do not delude yourself or your congregation into draping a NO vote in a false facade of piety, patriotism, mercy, or freedom.
Make no mistake, regardless of the rhetoric before or after the vote, a YES vote is a vote AGAINST ABORTION. A NO vote is a vote FOR ABORTION.
The feeble attempts to pacify the conscience with the “I don’t agree with abortion, but … ________” or “I’m a Christian, but …________” line of logic rings hollow. If they vote NO, please encourage people to have the intellectual honesty to say, “I am ok with 1.5 million tiny helpless Americans being intentionally killed each year for the sake of convenience and economic advancement.
I do not believe life begins at conception and the the cost of a child frequently outweighs its intrinsic worth.”
Vote with your beliefs and convictions but at least be honest and consistent with what those beliefs and convictions are.
Please do not be deceived by the cruel and deceptive propaganda being distributed by organizations such as Mississippians for Healthy Families. This organization is heavily funded and supported by Planned Parenthood organizations from Florida, New York, New Jersey, Colorado, and California.
See Sec of State Documentation of where funding is coming from here:
As you know, Planned Parenthood is a billion dollar a year organization, the largest abortion provider in the United States, a vocal critic of abstinence education programs, and a strong proponent of liberal school sex education programs indoctrinating young minds with moral principles and lifestyles contrary to the Christian principles found in the Bible.
Is this really where you want to cast your support?
As a minister of the Gospel, please do not be deceived by the lies being promoted by the opponents of Amendment 26.
I understand that you may have several concerns about putting your unequivocal support behind this legislation. I will try to put those fears to rest.
First, you may be concerned about losing your 501 3C tax exempt status. This should not concern you. The fear of losing tax exemption is simply a scare tactic. As a pastor and a church you have a great deal of latitude in supporting political issues such as this. I can provide a copy of an ADF legal opinion to pastors regarding support of personhood initiatives.
In the end however, we are called to serve God and not Caesar.
If Jesus can bear the cross and all but one of the apostles endured a martyr’s death, do you
think any of them would have retreated at the threat of taxation? Fear, however is understandable but unnecessary in this instance.
“If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ.” -Martin Luther
The opponents of Amendment 26 have been spreading many deceptive lies about this legislation.
Amendment 26 will prosecute women who suffer a miscarriage: FALSE
Amendment 26 will outlaw contraceptives: FALSE
Amendment 26 will outlaw in vitro fertilization: FALSE
Amendment 26 will prevent a doctor from saving a woman’s life in the case of an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy: FALSE
Planned Parenthood has a history of deceiving ministers into supporting their agenda. Please do not fall prey to this manipulation. This sort of strategy has been used for over 70 years, ever since it was used to eradicate as many African American babies as possible.
“We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten that idea out if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” –Margaret Sanger (American Birth Control League, which later became the Planned Parenthood Federation of America): Dec. 10. 1939
Pastor I pray with all fervor that the Holy Spirit has given me the words to move your heart to stand up for righteousness.
Please resist the temptation to stay silent due to fear or uncertainty.
Please take up the full armor of God and be bold in word and action.
Please help in the effort to rid Mississippi of the horror of abortion and give the legal protection of personhood to the most vulnerable in our society.
Blessings,
Dr. John B. Adams
