Operation Save America -

Following Jesus can take you to some very strange places. Last Sunday, it took us to the gay parade. We all knew that God had arranged this outreach for the one person whose heart He had been preparing. All month we have been praying and asking God for that one lost sheep. Don't you just love the trouble God will put His people through to reach just one person! The infinite value that God places on sinful human beings is an amazing, awesome thing to consider! And in the light of that value, the most evil display was the absence of the Church of the Living God. We are the ones who have the Words of eternal life, and we refused to take them to a people lost and perishing in sin. One of the older lesbians told me that Christians hate them. I had to agree with her, since letting someone go to hell is the ultimate act of hate there is.

I know it is hard to go where you are hated, mocked and slandered. Being a dreadful coward, I was scared too, but God provided the courage from His Word, “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. ” Deut. 31:6

Armed with the blood of the Lamb, our testimony and the Word of God, we paid for a booth, where we planned to be a truthful witness for Jesus. Everything went fine, until we put up the banner, which proclaimed, “If you died today, where would you spend eternity?” We began witnessing to some lesbians who were very angry to hear the truth. Within 30 minutes, we were thrown off the park grounds.

But the Lord gave us favor with the police. They allowed us to set up the table across the street on the sidewalk. That little table, out of the way, tucked in behind the barricades and police, behind John Reyes and the street preachers, was now in the spot God planned to use it.

Lupe came to the booth for prayer. He was a former practicing homosexual whose lover died of AIDS. He promised God that he would stop sleeping with men if God would protect Lupe from Aids. He has kept his vow, but was feeling weak and tempted. We laid hand on Lupe and prayed for him, and God strengthen him.

We took turns leaving the area God had us in to go to the parade and pass out tracts. All total we gave out over 500 tracts. Our own Brenda Spurlock even gave Laura Miller (the mayor of Dallas ) herself one!

And the lost sheep God sent us to find?

Chris came to the booth to talk and Jan ministered to him from the Word of God, and led him to the Lord! “ For you will be a witness for Him to all men of what you have seen and heard.” Acts 22:15 . Former gang members, former prostitutes, former drug addicts, who are now servants of the living God shared their testimonies of the power of God with Chris. Only Jesus has the power to deliver someone from bondage. Please continue to lift Chris, Lupe and the men and women who heard the truth up to God in prayer.

OSA-Jericho Mission Street Report, August Report

"I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3

While I may not know much about theology, I do know a lot about the lovingkindness of my God! I could fill books with the wonderful things He has done for me, and I have never deserved any of them. I have been a beneficiary of His kindness and mercy even while I was still His enemy! He drew me to Him with kindness and love, and it is my privilege to proclaim that same grace and kindness to those who find themselves here at this horrible place.

The last two weeks we came and saw no visible fruit from our efforts, yet we know that God's word does not return void, and that His purposes were fulfilled while we were present. Still, we like to see results, and it is discouraging when it appears to the eye that nothing happens.

On August 21 st , after the morning at the clinic, we went to the Pregnancy Help Center for the training class on testifying in Austin about the health textbooks. When I arrived at the PHC, they had one client who only spoke Spanish and wanted an abortion. Karen asked me to speak to her, so I called Jim Phillips, who at that time was still on the WAA team, and in the hallway, on speaker- phone, he translated for myself and Maria. After many tears and prayers, Maria agreed to come back Monday, but appeared to be leaning toward life for her baby. I went back to my meeting, but Maria stayed on my heart all week.

The next week it was raining, and no saves again.

At Sunday School, I asked Karen if Maria had came back in, Karen didn't know about Maria, but she said that Lisa, (who we had brought from the abortion clinic and counseled with at the Pregnancy Help Center) had came in with her new little baby and she named that sweet little girl after our sidewalk counselor who had helped her choose life. Sometimes, the rewards are sweet and unexpected when God touches you with His lovingkindness!

And as for Maria, the following Monday we found out she changed her mind and was keeping her baby! According to my totals, the WAA team saved 3 babies here in Ft. Worth while delivering their message to America!

The totals for August are: 6 saves and 49 children who died.
Year to date: 68 saves and 658 children who were murdered at this clinic.

OSA Jericho Mission Street Report August 7th

"Come and hear, all ye who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul." Psalm 66:16

I love days like this Saturday! Our numbers may be small, but our God is great! We came, prayed, sang and preached the Word of God to those who needed to hear it, and the Hearer of Prayer answered us with four saves!

The very first customer who arrived that morning stopped and took information. She and her friend read it and left, saying “we changed our minds,” on the way out! Another car stopped, but the father and mother only spoke Spanish. We called Jim Phillips, who is part of the WAA team, and he talked to the couple for ten minutes. They pulled into the clinic, but never went inside and eventually left!

Annette was crying, she is pregnant with her fourth child, but didn't see how she can support four children! We prayed with her and she has changed her mind, to her husbands relief. Please keep her in prayer.

The best part of the day was when we were waiting for the “Dr.” to arrive. A young couple who had left earlier came back and the young man motioned the sidewalk counselor over. “We just wanted to come back and thank you for being here! We listened to you and changed our minds and wanted to let you know that you are not wasting your time! Thank you so much!” We were so surprised that we stood there stunned for a few minutes before we recovered and were able to tell them that Jesus is the one they need to thank, because He is the one who sent us out! The young man is not a Christian, so we were able to give him a Bible and pray for them! Remember Chris in your prayers, that He finds the God who loves him.

The totals for the day were Sixteen appointments: Four saves, Twelve left to die.

July, 2004

“Our God is a God of Salvation, and to God, the Lord, belongs the escape from death.” Psalm 68:20

While our numbers have dwindled, we have seen God move mightily here at the Westside Clinic. On July 10th, we watched as God proved that He is still the God of Salvation! Brookes talked to a young man who drove by and had questions. Twenty minutes later, he prayed to receive Christ due to the faithful witness of Brookes! Ten minutes later, God gave Guadalupe the courage to choose life for her baby! On July 17th, several women stood in the parking lot and listened to the gospel message, and the offers of help and mercy. Three changed their minds, due to the power of God, including one who screamed and swore at our sidewalk counselor on her way in - on her way out, she thanked her. The word of God never returns void! Our ministry still needs you to come and pray and offer Jesus to those who are so lost. We need prayer warriors, worshippers and those who want to help with the post-abortion part of the ministry. August 4th is the Seminar on Witnessing to Muslims. We will be going to the Mosque on Friday August 6th. Learn how to reach Muslims for Christ, then come and do it!
Those who are interested in testifying in September over the health textbooks, please call me. We are going to set up a training seminar on the textbook review process so you can be prepared and effective. I need to know how many of you are interested.
There will be a training seminar in February for post-abortion counseling in the prison. I will let you know more details as I get them.
Finally, thank you all for your prayers for Dan. The latest update is that his cardiologist is trying to find a surgeon who will be willing to take the risk to do the surgery. The problem is that Dan is very high risk to either die on the table or end up permanently on a respirator. We ask you to continue to pray that God will heal Dan and restore him to good health.
