WAA team in Nevada |
Have you noticed at the abortion mill that it is often the elderly that pass by and "shoot the finger" at you. We notice it all the time. It is quite bazaar to see someone’s grandpa or grandma in this light. It always disturbs me. Flip, Rusty, and the "Walk" team are now in Nevada . They are coming into all the casino towns. The team noticed that the casinos are filled with the elderly generation. Flip had insight into why this generation seems to have such a problem with what we do.
This is the generation that has fought in the wars. This is the generation that has seen times of great depression. This is the generation which has had to struggle their whole lives and now that they have retired is looking for personal peace. They feel that they have fought all the battles that they need to fight and now it is someone else’s turn. They have saved their money to be able to have peace in their "golden years" and they do not want anyone to disturb them. Instead of realizing that they have reached that position in their family of one with much wisdom to pass along to the next generation, they simply want to be at peace.
For the Christian, we do not get peace this side of heaven. We are living in a nation that is dying at the vine. We cannot make peace with that. It is this older generation that has the ability to instill wisdom in their grandchildren. They remember the godly heritage that is being robbed from us. Instead of spending their money searching for "the good life," they are the ones we need to point us to the "abundant life." Grandma and Grandpa, not only is the gambling industry robbing your children of their monetary inheritance, we are all being robbed of the wisdom that you could bestow. Please turn your heart back to the ones coming up behind you. Please understand that we need you. "Wisdom is the principle thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you." Walk Across America
March 23, 2004 Report
Flip described Bullhead City, AZ, which is a little more than 20 miles beyond Needles, CA, as a typical family town with parks and Little League fields. Across the river from Bullhead City is Laughlin, NV. Laughlin has huge gambling casinos, the Pioneer Club, Harrahs, The Golden Nugget and others. He said it was unsettling to see all the grandmas and grandpas who were there gambling.
He said the team employed its wonderful sound system, traveling up and down the streets to give the Laughlin folks heaven with big sound. "Grandmas and grandpas," they called out, "Have you watched The Passion of Christ ? Have you seen what Christ gave for you? You are not your own. You have no right to retire from the Lord's army!" Two elderly couples, who looked to be in their mid-80's, drove by in a new Lincoln Continental. All four of them displayed their opinion of the message with an obscene hand gesture.
Flip said, "I think America has become Pottersville. Remember in It's a Wonderful Life, George Bailey lived in Bedford Falls. Clarence the angel showed him how his town would have turned out if he had never been born. Mr. Potter, the evil rich miser, would have turned it into Pottersville. Where are the George Baileys?" Flip asked. "Where is the church of Jesus Christ ?"

One can only imagine what it must be like to just be on your merry, partying way and all of a sudden hear the sound of the shofar and look up to see this team of desperados, the WAA team, come walking straight toward you, crying out for personal and national repentance. Flip and Rusty have just finished a preaching excursion through the casino town of Laughlin , Nevada. While walking through the town, they were tag team preaching, carrying a cordless mic which was resounding through large speakers in Jim Phillips' truck, to those going in and out of a row of gambling joints
"How long, America, will we kill our unborn children, sodomize our sons and daughters, call good evil and evil good, while all the time drunk on the pleasures of this world. We're too busy partying to know our nation is dying. We're destroying ourselves and we don’t even know it!"
And to the casinos, "Thieves! Robbers! You steal the hearts of men and women from the rich Christian heritage which was bequeathed to us. You steal the hearts of the fathers from their children and the hearts of husbands from their wives." Flip was crying out, "Moms, Dads, Grandmas, Grandpas, turn your hearts and your money and your time back to your children and your grandchildren! Flee these places of debauchery and turn back to faith in our Lord Jesus Christ."
I'm sure this was an experience the people of Laughlin will never forget!
The police following them finally stopped them as they came to the end of the city, asking them to cease. They agreed with their message, they told the WAA team, yet it was illegal to have the horse and donkey there and the truck impeding traffic. However, afterward, a Christian security guard who had been impacted by the prophetic message, drove up and asked for their literature and took it into the casino for herself and other Christians to pass out!
With boldness and yet with brokenness, Flip Benham and Rusty Thomas continue to strive to be faithful to preach the message that the Lord has given them for America and the WAA Team continue to walk, demonstrating the Judgment and Mercy of our Almighty God.
