Dear OSA Family,
The new year is just around the corner, and with it comes a fresh opportunity to deepen our walk with the Lord through His Word! We’re thrilled to share the 2025 OSA Bible Reading Plan, now available for download at the bottom of this page.
As the Psalmist declares, “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You” (Psalm 119:11). Together, let’s commit to hiding God’s Word in our hearts, allowing it to shape our lives and guide our every step. His Word is a “lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). If we want Christ’s light to shine brightly in us and through us—illuminating even the darkest corners of our nation-we must first be diligent in immersing ourselves in Scripture daily.
Here are a few recommendations to help you make the most of your Bible study in 2025:
1. Approach with a Humble Heart
Humility is essential in our journey with God. While knowledge can sometimes puff us up, love builds up (1 Corinthians 8:1). Begin each reading with a prayerful heart, asking God to reveal His truth. Surround yourself with godly friends and those saints in the church who can lovingly correct and encourage you. Be quick to admit faults and recognize how pride may hinder your spiritual growth. Let humility shape your life as you make self-sacrifice a way of life, just as Christ did.
2. Prioritize Time Alone with God
Jesus often withdrew to quiet places to pray (Luke 5:16), and we should follow His example. Set aside time each day to be still before the Lord, allowing His Spirit to guide you and His Word to transform you. Consider incorporating singing into your devotion time, as God’s people have done for centuries. Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs enrich our worship as commanded in Scripture, and is very easy to start doing!
3. Add Spiritual Disciplines to Your Routine
Incorporating new spiritual disciplines alongside your Bible reading can deepen your faith and sustain your devotion:
- Fasting: If it’s been a while since you fasted, commit one day each week to this practice, seeking God’s presence.
- Giving: Examine your budget and carve out a tithe for your church or ministries bearing fruit. Giving generously not only supports God’s work but also transforms your heart.
- Family Devotions: Renew your commitment to spending time with your spouse and children in God’s Word. Family devotions are a powerful way to nurture faith and strengthen relationships.
As we step into 2025, let’s embrace these practices and make Scripture the foundation of our lives. We pray this Bible reading plan blesses you and your family, drawing you closer to the Lord and equipping you to be a light in the world to expand His Kingdom.
